[Current Shop Stage: Stage One.]

[Current Recovery Points: 22.]

So even the Recovery Shop had stages, huh? He wondered what would change at Stage Two. Of course, that wasn’t something he needed to worry about right now.

He also glanced at the number of Recovery Points he had.

Twenty-two.

That was everything he gained from treating and feeding the three women one time, considering he planned to give them medicine twice a day and feed them four meals a day, he should get about forty points every single day.

Kaine noted that.

Then, the moment he was done reading and wanted to move further, the screen changed and three options appeared in front of him.

[General Recovery]

[Companion Recovery]

[Recovery Materials]

Kaine needed to treat his back, so he focused on General Recovery and as he did, the screen changed and a long list appeared in front of him.

[General Recovery]

[Minor Mana Restoration Potion]

[Restores a moderate amount of depleted Mana.]

[Cost: 20 Recovery Points.]

...

[Fatigue Relief Potion]

[Relieves ordinary physical and mental fatigue.]

[Does not replace prolonged sleep deprivation.]

[Cost: 30 Recovery Points.]

...

[Minor Detoxification Potion]

[Neutralises most common biological toxins and low-grade poisons.]

[Cost: 50 Recovery Points.]

...

That changed the look on Kaine’s face.

Potions that could recover Mana, relieve fatigue, detoxify poison...

This was better than he expected.

Kaine continued reading.

[Bone Mending Potion]

[Accelerates the restoration of recent bone fractures and minor skeletal damage.]

[Cost: 80 Recovery Points.]

...

[Acute Regeneration Potion]

[Repairs severe recent physical trauma in a structurally stable body.]

[Effective against cuts, burns, torn muscles, damaged skin, fractures and similar injuries.]

[Cost: 100 Recovery Points.]

...

[Advanced Regeneration Potion]

[Rapidly repairs recent severe damage to organs, nerves, bones, muscles, and other biological tissue.]

[Cost: 200 Recovery Points.]

...

There were a few more items, the further he went, the stronger they seemed. Kaine, however, was more focused on a note that was highlighted in red and did not move away from its position no matter how much he scrolled through the list.

[Note:]

[General Recovery products may be used on registered Companions when applicable.]

[Mana Restoration, Fatigue Relief, Detoxification and ordinary Healing products may treat temporary conditions.]

[However, General Recovery products cannot substitute for a Companion Recovery Plan or repair damage classified as racial, spiritual, structural or systemic. Use of General Recovery products does not advance Restoration Progress.]

...

That made sense.

Because the moment he read about the Regeneration Potion, his eyes went down the list and found a specific one.

[Legendary Regeneration Potion]

[Restores catastrophic physical damage and regenerates missing biological organs, limbs and tissue regardless of the age of the injury. Capable of reversing permanent physical loss, severe scarring and long-term bodily deterioration.]

[Cannot reconstruct supernatural organs, racial cores, spiritual pathways or structures that are not purely biological.]

[Cost: 10,000 Recovery Points.]

He thought he could use it on his companions and improve their situation permanently, but the system made the distinction quite clear.

Still, when he looked back at the list, he could see how useful it was. He hadn’t explored the Recovery Shop till now because he didn’t have the time, but now that he had...

His opinion on Recovery Points changed.

They were far more important than he initially thought and this was only one of the three available sections.

Kaine thought about it, then, his eyes moved to the other two sections.

[Companion Recovery]

The screen changed and this time, a different list appeared in front of him. Items listed specifically for his companions and the more he read them, the more serious his face became.

[Minor Pain Suppression Draught]

[Temporarily suppresses physical pain without interfering with neurological function.]

[Duration: 6 hours.]

[Cost: 15 Recovery Points.]

...

[Deep Rest Draught]

[Induces safe restorative sleep for registered Companions.]

[Duration adjusted according to physical condition.]

[Cost: 20 Recovery Points.]

...

[Digestive Stabilisation Tonic]

[Improves tolerance toward food during severe malnutrition and weakened digestion.]

[Cost: 25 Recovery Points.]

...

[Essence Stabilisation Solution]

[Temporarily reduces supernatural-energy instability.]

[Does not repair damaged Cores or pathways.]

[Cost: 40 Recovery Points.]

...

Kaine’s eyes kept moving, other than the ones he read, there were medicines for blood replenishment, circulation, inflammation, infection, toxin removal, organ stabilisation, shock, and fever.

Things that wouldn’t directly fix the three women but could make their recovery significantly easier.

Then...

He saw something different.

[Stage One Minor Restoration Catalyst]

[Immediately advances the selected Companion’s Stage One Restoration Progress by 10%.]

[Cannot be used after Stage One has been completed.]

[Cost: 120 Recovery Points.]

...

That got a reaction from him.

Ten percent...?

Immediately?

His eyes moved down to the stronger options.

[Stage One Intermediate Restoration Catalyst]

[Immediately advances the selected Companion’s Stage One Restoration Progress by 25%.]

[Cost: 275 Recovery Points.]

...

[Stage One Major Restoration Catalyst]

[Immediately advances the selected Companion’s Stage One Restoration Progress by 50%.]

[Cost: 500 Recovery Points.]

...

[Stage One Superior Restoration Catalyst]

[Immediately advances the selected Companion’s Stage One Restoration Progress by 75%.]

[Cost: 1,200 Recovery Points.]

...

[Stage One Perfect Restoration Catalyst]

[Immediately completes the selected Companion’s Stage One Restoration Stage.]

[Cost: 2,500 Recovery Points.]

...

[Note:]

[These Catalysts do not grant progress toward the next Restoration Stage.]

[Only one Restoration Catalyst may be used on the same Companion during each Recovery Stage.]

Kaine read the list, then the note the system highlighted and he...

He wasn’t even surprised by them, because the next options were even more absurd.

[Stage One Supreme Restoration Catalyst]

[Immediately completes the selected Companion’s Stage One and Stage Two Restoration Stages.]

[All corresponding recovery effects and Major Milestone Rewards will be granted normally.]

[Cost: 20,000 Recovery Points.]

...

[Origin Restoration Catalyst]

[Restores one selected Companion completely.]

[Cost: 1,000,000 Recovery Points.]

...

Of course, the price rose with the absurdity of the items, but...

To think there was an item that could completely restore them in an instant.

If only Kaine could buy that.

In the end, he shook his head and decided to look at the final section to distract himself.

[Recovery Materials]

And the instant he selected it, he stopped.

The previous section was a list, this was... an entire catalogue.

There were hundreds of names in it, Kaine couldn’t even read them all, fortunately, the system directed him towards a search function.

[Search by Material.]

[Search by Companion.]

[Search by Function.]

[Note: Recovery Shop has every Recovery Material.]

...

Kaine stared at the note.

That was... a grand claim.

He thought about challenging it and he started searching.

[Ironroot Powder]

[Cost: 4 Recovery Points.]

...

[Low-Density Spirit Grain]

[Cost: 8 Recovery Points.]

...

[Purified Marrow Essence]

[Cost: 12 Recovery Points.]

...

And...

It showed everything he searched for, every single thing was available for a price. Even something the family had a hard time procuring, the system had it.

[Redhorn Beast Blood]

[Cost: 18 Recovery Points.]

...

[Moonwell Essence]

[Cost: 90 Recovery Points.]

...

[Mature Wyvern Marrow]

[Cost: 240 Recovery Points.]

...

Kaine then filtered the search by Companion and chose Serathiel, in an instant, a list of hundreds of items appeared in front of him.

Dragon blood.

Dragon marrow.

Dragon scales.

Dragon bones.

Dragon crystals.

Different species, different ages, different qualities, there was everything, items he didn’t even know existed.

Kaine’s eyes moved farther down.

[Ancient Dragon Blood]

[Cost: 4,800 Recovery Points.]

...

[Ancient Dragon Heart]

[Cost: 74,000 Recovery Points.]

...

’Even a Heart...’

Kaine shook his head.

He then searched for Lysara, there were items like spiritual herbs, Foxfire crystals, Soul-nourishing materials, Spiritual-root restoration ingredients, Essences Kaine had never even heard of.

For Nerys, it was Shadow Crystals, Umbral Essence, Darkness-aligned Cores, honestly, he didn’t even understand what most of these items did.

What he did know, however, was that the system truly did have everything and Kaine...

He could see quite a few uses for this.

He nodded to himself.

Just then,

"How long will it take?"

Serathiel questioned.

All this while Kaine was exploring the shop, the Dragon was waiting patiently for him to think of a medicine and make it.

Kaine looked at her, then, as he remembered what she wanted, his eyes returned to the item he needed.

[Acute Regeneration Potion]

[Cost: 100 Recovery Points.]

Then, he looked at the Recovery Points he had.

[Recovery Points: 22.]

He needed 78 more points.

And considering his previous calculations were correct, it would take him two days to gather enough points.

He turned back to Serathiel, then...

"There is a medicine."

"There is?"

Serathiel’s eyes brightened.

"It can heal me immediately, but I do not have enough power to get it."

"...you don’t have enough power?"

The Dragon frowned.

What did his power have to do with medicine?

Kaine looked at them, he didn’t want to explain the existence of the system to them, at least not yet.

He wanted some time, he wanted to see how effective the system really was and once he was absolutely certain it was a real thing that could help them heal, he would tell them.

"If you three let me help you recover like you have been doing till now, then I should have enough power to get the medicine I need by tomorrow night."

Kaine spoke.

"...tomorrow?"

"Yes."

Kaine nodded.

Serathiel narrowed her eyes.

She clearly did not understand how it worked, what she did understand was that Kaine was asking for time.

And she...

"...alright."

The Dragon nodded.

She would give him time.

"...don’t go back on your word."

She spoke in a low voice.

Kaine looked at her, then at the other two, who looked like they were slowly putting their trust in him and he couldn’t help but notice how they seemed more tense about his recovery than their own.

He looked at Nerys, who suddenly tightened her hold around his arm.

That made him smile.

"You shoul—"

Before he could complete his words.

Knock Knock

A knock interrupted him.

Someone was here again.
