It was almost dinnertime when Grandfather finally came downstairs, leaning on his cane as he slowly descended the spiral staircase.
Su Luoyan quickly stepped forward to support him, helping him down step by step.
“You little girl, you finally remembered to come see this old man,” Grandfather said with a tone of reproach, but his face was beaming with joy.
Su Luoyan sheepishly stuck out her tongue. “Grandpa Fu, it’s my fault. I’ll definitely come visit you more often from now on.”
Old Master Fu wasn’t really blaming her. “Now that you’re back, are you staying for good?”
“I’ve already graduated. I won’t be leaving this time.”
Su Luoyan pulled out a chair for Grandfather to sit, placed his cane to the side, and took a seat next to him. Fu Shen Nan sat on the other side of Grandfather.
Seeing that everyone had taken their seats, a servant brought over warm towels. Su Luoyan took one and handed it to Grandfather first.
As he wiped his hands, Grandfather asked, “So, did you meet any boyfriends while you were away these past few years?”
Su Luoyan knew Grandfather was about to play matchmaker and tried to dodge the question. “Grandpa Fu, I’m still young. I need to focus on my career right now. There’s no hurry.”
Grandfather lowered his chin slightly, clearly disagreeing. “Your career is important, but so is marriage. Look at Cheng Shen. When he was young, he was too busy building his career and said he didn’t want to date. But now he’s almost thirty and still doesn’t have a girlfriend. You shouldn’t follow his example.”
