In the school cafeteria, students gathered for their lunch break.

There was one topic on everyone’s mind: who attacked the guy on the bus last night?

Scott and Stiles walked in, got in line, grabbed their food trays, and sat down at an empty table.Full novel: Teen Wolf : The Progenitor — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“But dreams aren’t memories.”

“Then it wasn’t a dream.

Something happened last night, and I can’t remember what.”

Stiles asked Scott, “What makes you so sure Derek has all the answers?”

“Because.

During the full moon, he wasn’t changed; he was in total control while I was running around in the middle of the night attacking some totally innocent guy.”

“What about Malcolm?

He’s a werewolf too.

Why don’t you ask him?”

Scott froze at hearing that name.

“Well, I kinda exposed him to the hunters, and he sorta almost killed me the first time I turned.”

Stiles looked at Scott like something was mentally wrong with him.

“How did you manage to piss off the only werewolves you know?”

“Speaking of Malcolm, his mom’s also a werewolf, too?

How many werewolves are there in Beacon Hills?”

“I don’t know?

I just need someone to teach me how to control this before I kill someone else.” Scott said, sulking at the thought of killing an innocent person.

“Hey, we don’t know that.”

“We don’t not know that.”

“I can’t go out with Olivia,” Scott said.

“Hey, no, you’re not cancelling ok you can’t just cancel your entire life; we’ll figure it out,” Stiles said to try and comfort him.

Malcolm walked into the cafeteria, walking with Allison on his right, followed by Lydia, Olivia, and the rest of the popular kids.

He sat at the head of the table as if it were personally there for him; Allison sat on the right side of him.

Olivia sat next to Scott, who was seated on the left side of Malcolm, almost like he was his Beta.

Lydia sat next to Stiles, who was glitching from the mere fact that his childhood crush was next to him.

The rest of the group occupied the rest of the seats available.

From the other end of the table accross malcolm, no one sat there cause he would take that as a deliberate challenge to him.

“Hey guys, what are we talking about?” Malcolm dapped up Scott and Stiles, making the sound echo in the cafeteria.

“Ok, that was awesome.” Stiles was impressed by the dap-up.

“Why are they sitting with us?” Stiles whispered to Scott.

Scott shrugged, “I don’t know.”

Jackson showed up last and told one of the other guys to move.

“Get up.”

“You never ask Danny to get up.”

“Because I don’t stare at his girlfriend’s rack,” Danny said.

Jackson pushed him off and sat down.

Danny brought up the incident, “So I hear they’re saying it’s some type of animal attack, probably a Cougar.”

“I heard Mountain Lion,” Jackson said.

Malcolm looked at Jackson and said, “A cougar is a mountain lion Dumbass.”

Jackson looked at him, hatred plastered across his face.

Allison pinched Malcolm’s side, signaling him not to start anything.

“Ouch, what?

I was just correcting him.” Malcolm faked being in pain from Allison’s pinching.

Jackson said with arrogance, “Who cares?

The guy’s probably some homeless tweaker who’s gonna die anyway.”

Stiles was on his phone searching for any information on the incident.

“Actually, I just found out who it is.

Check it out.”

Stiles put his phone in the middle so everyone could see and played a news report on the case of the bus attack last night.

{The sheriff’s department will investigate the details of the incident, but confirmed the victim, Garrison Myers, did survive the attack.

Myers was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.}

Scott spoke up, recognizing the victim.

“I-I know this guy.”

“You do?”

“Yeah, when I used to take the bus when I lived with my dad, he was the driver.” The atmosphere changed after what he said.

Scott and Stiles slouched in their chairs.

Lydia, like the air owed her money, spoke up.

“Can we talk about something slightly more fun, please?

Like…

ohh, where are we going tomorrow night?”

Lydia looked at Olivia, who was eating her food.

“You said you and Scott were hanging out tomorrow night, right?”

“Uhh, we were thinking of what we were gonna do,” Olivia said

Malcolm watched them converse amongst each other while he was seated just chilling, with his fingers intertwined with Allison’s.

Then, as if a light bulb lit up in his head, a memory came to him.

“How about something that won’t put half the school to sleep?”

Malcolm said, catching the stares of everyone at the table.

Allison looked at him, curious as to what he could be talking about.

“Like what?”

“Remember the project I told you about last night?” Malcolm asked.

“It’s done?

Already?” Allison looked shocked.

“Yeah, my mom helped me while she was working on hers,” Malcolm answered her.

“Mind telling the rest of us what’s so interesting?” Lydia impatiently asked.

Allison looked a bit excited and said, ” There’s this car he’s been working on, and apparently it’s done.

He had a whole event planned: a car movie night and dinner.”

“That sounds fun, why not?” Lydia said, actually considering the idea.

Malcolm looked around the table and scanned, then, looking at Scott, he asked, “Hey Scott, can you drift?”

Everyone went quiet at his question, like it was the weirdest thing to ask.

Scott looked confused and said, “No, why?”

“Come by my place today after school; I’ll teach you.”

“But I don’t have a car.”

Malcolm looked at Scott, smiling, and pulled out his car keys and threw them at him.

“You do now.

Welcome to the family, Scott.”

“Am I part of the family?” Stiles said quickly, hoping to get the keys to a new car like Scott.

Scott looked at the keys and was dumbfounded.

“Sorry, Stiles, maybe in a few months,” Malcolm said, bursting Stiles’ bubble.

Malcolm looked back at Scott and started describing the car’s specs.

“It’s got a full VeilSide Fortune widebody kit, an RE-Amemiya rebuilt 13B-REW twin-rotor rotary engine pushing up to 300 horsepower, and 19inch VeilSide Andrew EVO-V wheels, and a Nitrous tank in the back if you’re feeling a bit tempted.”

Scott went absolutely by what he just heard, mostly cause he didn’t know most of those words.

Everyone at the table was silent and looking at Malcolm as if handing over the keys to a car were the most normal thing.

“It should be parked in the parked out in the parking lot next to my Skyline; they brought it after it was fully modded.” Malcolm continued.

The bell rang, ending their lunch break.

Malcolm got up and left with Allison.

‘Nothing bad with a little flex now and then; besides, he’s gonna be my new little brother.

Might as well get him used to how we roll.’

[Beacon Hills hospital]

Gloria had just finished her checkup on the severely injured Garrison Myers.

She went to take off her gloves and wash her hands.

She spotted Melissa at the reception desk and walked to her with newfound enthusiasm.

“Hey, beautiful, I just got done with a patient wanna grab some food with me?” Gloria asked, leaning on the desk, looking at Melissa.

“Just gimme a second; my shift’s almost done.” Melissa smiled, seeing Gloria.

Thanks to the increased time they’ve spent together and the pull of the mate bond, they have been almost inseparable since their first outing.
