Today had been an exhausting day; not particularly difficult or hard, but exhausting nonetheless.

Following my usual routine, after leaving my job as an office salaryman, it didn’t take me long to get to the gym after changing and grabbing the things I needed.

For some reason, I decided I’d train a little harder than usual today; I guess it was because I didn’t have to work tomorrow.Full novel: Tensura: An even greater anomaly — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

This reminded me that I wouldn’t have to go back to work over the weekend and that I’d have all the time in the world to enjoy what I loved so much, and to spend time with my loved ones—even though my personality could sometimes be a bit annoying—which would make them get mad at me.

Anyway, on my way home, drained and exhausted, I crossed the street I’d crossed thousands of times in my life.

Who would’ve thought that some damn truck—speeding at a speed it absolutely shouldn’t have been going, and at a time when it really shouldn’t have been there—would decide to run me over?

It happened so suddenly.

I looked to the left of the road before crossing, as I always do; when I decided everything was clear, I crossed.

“No vehicles in sight, everything’s fine,” was what I thought before stepping out.

The very next second, out of nowhere, that damn truck appeared just a few meters away from me.

The street was wide open, so this made no sense; I should have seen it coming, but apparently, when Truck-kun decides it’s your time, no amount of logic or common sense can save you.

From the outside, the impact was tremendous; from my perspective, it was extremely painful.

The impact immediately sent me flying a few meters.

Everything was spinning in my head, but, surprisingly, I was pretty relaxed.

I guess I subconsciously realized there was no saving me and accepted it calmly.

When I finally hit the ground, I was barely aware of the commotion I’d caused around me or how upset people had become.

“Sad,” I thought.

All that effort, all that studying… only to end up like this.

My job was exhausting, yes, but I’d had to work my ass off to get it.

The company was very demanding, but I managed to land a good position with my grades after a lot of hard work, and the salary was pretty high; but now everything has gone to shit: my family, my friends, everything.

As I lay motionless in the middle of the road, all I could hear were my thoughts and a faint buzzing sound.

In that moment, I began to regret some of the decisions I’d made in my life.

Instead of devoting all my free time to anime and manga, I could have invested more time and effort into being different from everyone else—into being special, into excelling at something unique, not just like everyone else.

But no, I chose the easy path; I decided to follow the rules and the structure of my country just like everyone else, without hesitating for a moment, becoming just another face in the crowd and depending on others.

If I had followed my own path without relying on an inefficient system, having the courage to do things my way, perhaps things would have turned out differently.

At that moment, a voice devoid of emotion or gender rang in my head:

“Desire to be different and not follow the rules detected.

Proceeding…”

The voice surprised me immensely.

I recognized it immediately because I was watching the anime it came from: *The Voice of the World* from the anime Tensura.

Knowing how Rimuru had obtained his unique skills—which would later help him reach the pinnacle of power in the world—I didn’t hesitate to continue with my requests, without stopping to think about why the voice had suddenly stopped so abruptly.

Knowing how important a skill like Raphael’s had been to Rimuru and how much it had helped him, I quickly voiced my thoughts:

“With all the knowledge I have of the work, I’d like to be able to use that information more efficiently and productively in this world where magic and skills are so complex—and understanding them well can help you so much.”

This time there was no voice, just a distorted or broken sound.

Filled with joy at a new possibility in a magical world, I continued with my list without waiting for confirmation, temporarily ignoring the pain coursing through my entire body.

—Having a space of my own where I can store and isolate all kinds of things to analyze them later is essential for rapid progress—.

The same distortion repeated itself.

“An unlimited source or reactor of magicules is key to having enough energy for everything I need.

The more resources I have myself, the less I’ll have to rely on external factors.”

I was about to keep asking for more, but the pain I’d been suffering stopped completely, and I felt myself falling into a sort of bottomless ocean.

“This should be enough,” I thought.

Rimuru, someone undeniably special, arrived in his new world with less than what I’d asked for; I shouldn’t have any problems.

As I was immersed in this sort of infinite ocean, free from the tension of the moment before, I began to think about all the unusual things that had happened in the last minute.

Having paid even the slightest attention to the series, it’s obvious that Rimuru’s original world is part of the multiverse that Veldanava created.

But why had I heard the Voice of the World when I was completely unrelated to that multiverse?

Wait—the first time I heard it, the Voice of the World didn’t seem able to finish speaking, and the other times I didn’t even hear a voice.

Could it be that the world I’m going to isn’t Tensura?

Has there been some kind of mistake?

Am I even reincarnating, or has it all just been my imagination?

Either way, if I end up in a magical or dangerous world without any power or help, I’m completely screwed.

I could have kept complaining, but suddenly I felt incredibly sleepy, and my consciousness slowly faded.

I didn’t know how much time had passed, nor did I remember exactly what had happened, but when I opened my eyes, a scene I didn’t recognize appeared before me.

As I tried to figure out where I was—which seemed to be a forest—everything that had happened since the accident came flooding back to me all at once.

“Shit,” I said out loud.

Wait, what the hell is wrong with my voice?

I thought.

Since when have I had such a deep voice?

I immediately did what I probably should have done first: I checked my body and… what a surprise I got!

Completely terrified, I started looking for somewhere to confirm my fears, and after a few intense seconds, I found a kind of fruit with a shiny exterior.

The fruit’s unrealistic appearance—and how special it would have been in my world—didn’t surprise me at that moment; what was crazy was the image I saw in the reflection: a sort of Super Saiyan 4, but more monstrous, different.

This body seemed to be about 185 cm tall—maybe a little less—and the fur was pure white.

The only thing I retained from my original world were my blue eyes, one of the few special things I had.

“At least I still have my pretty eyes,” I thought.

Jokes aside, I wouldn’t say my appearance is monstrous, but I do have some pretty wild features.

Not because of my height—I used to be about 190 cm tall—but because the claws on my hands, along with the exaggerated muscle mass, made me look like some kind of Super Saiyan 4 on steroids.

Not in terms of strength, but in the sense that I looked even more like a gorilla.

The only differences I could make out were some elongated fangs and slightly pointed ears.

“At least I have a basic set of clothes to cover myself up,” I thought ironically.

Although I couldn’t help but check to see if my little friend was still there—you know, not all of us would accept that sad reality as easily as Rimuru did.

Thank goodness, he was there.

Putting “not-so-insignificant” details aside, I tried to think clearly and reach a logical conclusion, leaning against a large tree as I reflected.

Considering the strange things that happened when I was reincarnated, I can’t assume for certain that I’m in Tensura.

This forest certainly looks like the Great Forest of Jura, but my appearance doesn’t remind me of any race that appeared in the story—yet I’m definitely a Majin.

Appearing in Rimuru’s cave would have clarified my possible location a bit more, but without knowing my power level, having to face as many strange creatures as Rimuru doesn’t give me much confidence; after all, I’m not the protagonist.

A forest seems safer, for now.

As for my power, since I don’t recognize this race, it’s hard to estimate.

But for some reason, I know my name is now Kaelion.

Monsters aren’t supposed to be born with names.

Well, another mystery to solve—though I do like the name.

For now, let’s try to figure out if I have any of the skills I requested.

If I remember correctly, in most cases, just thinking about using a skill is enough to activate it; the problem is that I don’t know what skills I have—or if I even have any at all.

In theory, Otherworlders usually arrive in this world with one unique skill; Rimuru arrived with two and a couple of resistances.

The idea that I arrived with four unique skills—which were the number of requests I made—is pretty unlikely.

Anyway, let’s try to see if I have some kind of storage ability, as I requested.

Without overcomplicating things, I picked up a rock the size of a tennis ball and thought about storing it or absorbing it.

The first attempt was, as expected, a failure, but I kept trying.

After experimenting with different sensations and thoughts, I managed to make the stone disappear.

To do so, I simply imagined that I was trying to put an object into a box.

When the stone disappeared, for some reason I received information in my mind about its weight and a fairly complete picture of its shape and structure, and at the same time, I felt as if the space wherever this stone ended up was slightly filled—about 3%.

This made me think two things:

At least I have one ability, but its abilities don’t seem to measure up to those of a unique skill.

Getting it out was much easier—all I had to do was think about removing the stone.

Well, let’s keep trying to find some more abilities; that way, maybe I’ll figure out exactly what I have.

A few minutes passed—which, unfortunately, turned into hours—but it didn’t seem like I had anything else.

Out of frustration, or simply because I didn’t want to accept that I was in an unknown world with only a small inventory, I moved on to evaluating aspects like my physical and magical abilities.

My speed and strength were clearly far superior to those of a human from my world; if I had to compare them, they would be very similar to the ones displayed by the ogres Rimuru mentions in the first season before they evolve into Kijin.

As for my magical power, since I didn’t know how to measure it exactly, I decided to test it by enhancing a normal attack and then comparing it to one without enhancement.

I began to focus on the energy inside me—which I’d learned to sense and control to some extent—while searching for a few more skills.

For the first few seconds, I wasn’t very successful at controlling the energy, so I decided to simply concentrate 25% of it into my fist, just as Itadori did at the beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen with cursed energy.

The result was quite surprising: although it was still a bit slow and required my full concentration, the energy built up in my fist on the first try.

Without losing my focus, I struck a tree similar to the one I’d hit earlier while testing my strength.

This time, the enormous tree—nearly 2 meters in diameter—split in half right where I’d struck it.

Considering that I hadn’t even managed to damage it halfway before, that’s a significant improvement.

This little experiment allowed me to discover a few things and raised some questions for me.

The first discovery was that, after using up my ney magical energy, I could feel it regenerating inside me in a sort of core—not a physical one, but something spiritual.

Although it seemed I didn’t have much energu to begin with.

As far as I know, something like this doesn’t exist in this world, and besides, this core wasn’t interacting at all with the energy around me or in the atmosphere, which is unusual.

I also discovered that, for some reason, when I thought about Itadori’s technique, my control over the energy became slightly better than it had been up to that point—but only for that specific technique.

Could it be that drawing inspiration from techniques of other works of fiction has a positive effect on me?

This possibility is worth exploring.

Finally, I realized that my senses—or well, at least the way I perceive the world—seem to be quite sharp, especially within a radius of less than a meter around me, which is surprisingly precise.

Beyond that distance, my perception gradually deteriorates and ultimately amounts to nothing more than an ability to see things more clearly and understand them better.

That was all I’d discovered since arriving in this world.

By then, the sun was already setting, but I didn’t feel the least bit hungry despite having been on the move for hours.

Just in case, I picked up the fruit I’d noticed earlier along with the ones I found nearby after testing them against my skin and tongue to make sure they weren’t poisonous, and stored them in my inventory,—which also came with a sort of 3D model and its weight— which is what I’ll call my storage space for now.

For the time being, I decided to try to sleep in a safe place, since, even though I wasn’t hungry, I was pretty tired after so many hours of activity.

Hi there.

Since this is the first chapter, some things will change as the MC discovers and better understands his skills.

I just want to ask you to give it a chance, as elements from the original work don’t start appearing until later chapters.

That’s all for now.
