A few days have passed since Rimuru assigned different workshop roles to everyone.

The ogres seem to get along well with the other inhabitants, and the hobgoblins respect them for their strength, so everything is going smoothly.

By this point, the village has grown to become more of a town than a mere settlement; there is even a sort of industrial district filled with workshops where Kurobe and Kaijin are working hard.Full novel: Tensura: An even greater anomaly — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Right now, I was accompanying Rimuru to the cave where Benimaru and Hakuro were training.

I was accompanied by the black-haired female ogre, and Rimuru by Shion.

According to what Rimuru was telling me, they had just visited Shuna to see how she was doing with the clothing, but for some reason, their conversation turned into a debate over who was more worthy of taking care of Rimuru, which led to Shuna self-proclaiming herself as Rimuru’s oracle.

Even being present in this world, I still don’t understand how Rimuru has such an easy time attracting women; I guess we really aren’t all born with the same luck.

As for me, over the last few days, after finishing the analysis of the information that was missing, I had been training and testing the power level of my new bodyguard.

I have to say, I was very surprised.

At a rough estimate, her power level was quite similar to Benimaru’s before he evolved.

In her case, she was physically stronger, but her magical abilities were inferior, so it balanced out.

Just as she had told me, she was quite good with lightning magic and slightly worse with fire magic, so, since I have absolutely no clue about hand-to-hand combat, I decided to start teaching her techniques using electricity and lightning.

Her combat style was quite aggressive, relying on using her immense physical capacity to close the distance to her opponent and using her electricity to boost her attacks with her curved greatsword—which, according to her, was the type of weapon that best suited her style.

Seeing this, I decided to start by teaching her the Raikage’s Lightning Armor, as it synergized perfectly with her fighting style.

At first, she struggled a bit to grasp the concept of the technique, mostly because she wasn’t used to using magic in that way, but once she got the hang of it, she improved rapidly.

Within a couple of days, she was able to learn the technique, though she still needed to master it.

As we walked through the cave towards the two training swordsmen, I couldn’t help but think that this girl’s combat talent was immense; if she had evolved into a Kijin, she would surely be stronger than Shion and probably Benimaru as well.

I guess I got lucky with my bodyguard.

When we arrived at the training spot, our small group of four observed the two of them fluidly trading blows.

Their swords seemed to be coated in a sort of white aura, which Benimaru used to easily cleave a boulder in a single strike.

Even though Benimaru was far superior in pure stats, Hakuro managed to defeat him after exploiting a small opening in Benimaru’s attack.

“Young master, you still rely far too much on your magic power; to truly unleash the full potential of the sword, you must become one with it,” the old man instructed.

“Wow, that was incredible,” Rimuru said.

“Seriously, what is that white energy coating your swords supposed to be?” I asked, even though I already knew.

“Thank you, sirs, but it really is no big deal.

What coated our weapons was Battlewill. This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.

It is a technique that does not rely on magic, but rather ‘Arts’ that transform the body’s magic energy into fighting spirit, and they have no casting time,” the master swordsman explained.

“That sounds impressive.

If it’s not too much trouble, I’d like you to teach me these arts and how to wield a sword, since I’m not good at close combat,” I asked Hakuro.

“Yes, I’d like that too,” Rimuru added.

“Hoh, hoh.

It will be a pleasure to teach you both.

I will try to instruct you to the best of my abilities,” the old man told us.

“Thank you very much.

By the way, would you mind being the official instructor for some of the hobgoblins?” the slime asked.

“Of course not, my lord.

If you believe my teachings will be useful to our forces, I would be more than happy to help.”

“Then, from now on, I appoint you as the town’s military instructor,” Rimuru said.

“I proudly accept the position, my lord,” the new instructor said.

“Lord Rimuru, if you need someone to manage the troops and the military strategy of the village, I would like you to know that my capabilities in that field are impeccable,” Benimaru declared with a bit of jealousy.

“Then, from now on, you will be the Samurai General, the absolute leader of our military forces.

How does that sound?”

“Yes, my lord.

I will strive to serve you to the best of my abilities,” the redhead expressed his gratitude.

I simply watched the interaction in a relaxed manner.

In the end, not wanting to be left behind, Shion also asked for a formal position, and Rimuru appointed her as his Royal Guard, while she would still maintain her secretarial duties.

Souei also suddenly appeared using Shadow Motion and informed us that his silk collection work was complete and that he had detected some lizardmen moving outside their usual territory.

Seeing Souei’s useful skills for the job, Rimuru named him a Covert Agent to lead intelligence and espionage operations.

Both Rimuru and I noticed that receiving classes helped the Kijin consolidate and stabilize their magic energy and skills.

Receiving these classes helped them firmly cement themselves in A-rank power.

In the end, the ogres’ classes turned out like this: Benimaru: Samurai General; Shuna: Oracle; Hakuro: Instructor; Souei: Covert Agent; Shion: Royal Guard; Kurobe: Swordsmith.

Not wanting her to feel left out, I decided to ask the black-haired girl directly:

“It is not necessary, master, but I will proudly accept any class you bestow upon me,” she replied.

“Mmh.

Since your duties are quite similar to Shion’s, you will also be a Royal Guard for now.

If we find a position that suits you better in the future, then you can switch.

How does that sound?”

“Of course, master.

I will carry out my duties to the best of my ability,” the new and second royal guard told me.

Neither Rimuru nor the others seemed to mind in the slightest, so with the classes assigned, we left the cave.

Once we arrived at the town, everyone went their separate ways to go about their business; in my case, I went to ask Kurobe for a simple katana that would fit my size properly, which he simply agreed to, telling me he would have it ready by tomorrow.

Before resuming my training, I recalled that right about now, Gabiru should be disobeying his father’s orders and recruiting several thousand goblins from nearby villages—around seven thousand, if I remember correctly.

If I’m not mistaken, it would be in one of those goblin villages where they’d tell him about our town, making him want to come and try to recruit here too; though well, it’s less recruiting and more like forcing them by strength.

I believe he would arrive with around ten men, motivated primarily by his desire to please his master, Gelmud.

It’s ironic that the supposed master he serves is actually the one responsible for all the misfortunes plaguing his people.

Poor guy.

When he finds out, he’ll be devastated.

Until they arrive, I will keep training like a madman, trying to increase my power as much as possible.

When I first met Rimuru, I was far superior to him in power; however, if I had to fight him now, he would probably end up beating me.

For now, we’ve agreed that I will train with Hakuro in the morning and he will train in the afternoon.

During the afternoons, I will dedicate myself to further developing my magic and occasionally training the black-haired female ogre, who toll me that she also plans to train incredibly hard.

My short-term goals for this training are: to learn close combat at a basic level, to start integrating Battlewill arts into my repertoire, even if they take time to be learned, and to expand the power of my magic.

I hope I can achieve all of this in this short amount of time.

Honestly, the discomfort I feel in my body due to the lack of physical and spiritual stability that Speculator mentioned is quite annoying.

The stronger I get, the more irritating it becomes.

I hope I can get rid of this crap as soon as possible.

Anyway, let’s focus on the next few days.

If I don’t stay focused, I won’t be able to improve as much as I want to.
