…

The violent storm continued unabated, with dark clouds hanging like heavy lead weights, casting the already silent night as a yawning abyssal demon.

Su Wantang’s hands were still stained with blood.Full novel: The 1960s: After Awakening, I Seize Space and Marry My Childhood Sweetheart — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Faced with such a night, the fear in her heart grew heavier. She closed her eyes briefly, then resolutely charged into the darkness.

Bean-sized raindrops pelted her delicate skin, causing a slight stinging sensation, yet it couldn’t compare to the numbness in her heart.

Inside the Su Family Small Western-Style Building.

The hall was piled high with belongings.

Su Ye frowned deeply. “Dad, time is tight. Since most of our things have already been moved to H City, and we need to get there first to board the ship, let’s not take these worthless items. They’ll just be a burden on the journey.”

Su’s Father looked up at his home, his heart filled with reluctance, yet he had no choice but to make sacrifices.

“Fine, fine. Are the train tickets to H City ready? We’ll leave as soon as your sister returns.”

Su Ye’s eyes flickered. “There are only two train tickets and two ship tickets, Dad. The train leaves tomorrow at noon…”

Slap!

Before Su Ye could finish her sentence, a sharp slap landed across her face.

“Su Ye, I already agreed to your plan of using your sister in exchange for the ship tickets. Now that we’re about to leave, you still want to abandon her? Have you no conscience?”

Su Ye tilted her head, licking the blood from the corner of her mouth with a disdainful smile.

“Sister? Is she really my sister?”

A flash of lightning illuminated the sky, and in that brief moment of brightness, Su’s Father’s face turned deathly pale.

A thunderous roar followed closely, the sound so violent it seemed capable of splitting the heavens in two.

“Dad, you need to understand who’s close and who’s distant. We have to catch the train tomorrow, so I’m going to bed now. You should rest early too.”

Ignoring her father’s grim expression, Su Ye swayed her hips as she went upstairs, deliberately making the wooden stairs creak loudly under her feet.

Su Ye and Su Wantang’s rooms were adjacent to each other, with identical furnishings, evidence that the sisters had once been close.

Now, in Su Ye’s eyes, it only evoked contempt.

The original host had been a fool, but she wasn’t.

What sister? She was nothing but a bitch who stole her father and childhood sweetheart.

Everything Su Wantang was suffering now was exactly what she deserved – she brought it upon herself with her own shameless behavior.

Didn’t she like sleeping with men? Then let her sleep to her heart’s content!

Thinking about that old man’s tormenting methods, Su Ye hummed a cheerful tune excitedly.

She only hoped Su Wantang would still be alive to prance around in front of her after tonight.

The day Su Ye transmigrated and opened her eyes, she saw Su Wantang fooling around with the man she liked right in her room.

The image of Su Wantang fleeing in panic, too ashamed to face her for days, remained vividly etched in her memory.

Opening the drawer, she took out the Wooden Bracelet inside. The bracelet was carved with intricate patterns that appeared somewhat mysterious.

But the material limited its value – it wasn’t worth much.

This was a keepsake left by Su Wantang’s mother. Su Ye had deliberately asked for it, not because she particularly liked it, but purely to make Su Wantang suffer.

Su Wantang’s mother had stolen her own mother’s position, causing her mother’s early death. Then Su Wantang stole the man she loved. Everything happening to her now was the consequence of her own actions.

Su Ye took out the scissors she normally used in her room, poised to scratch the bracelet.

Just then, the door was pushed open.

Su Wantang, who should have been suffering humiliation under someone else, appeared at the doorway.

Water droplets continuously dripped from her clothes onto the ground. Her appearance was disheveled, her face deathly pale, and her dark, sunken eyes appeared particularly eerie under the dim candlelight.

“Ah… Are you human or ghost?”

Under Su Ye’s terrified questioning, Su Wantang ignored her own wretched state and quickly rushed to her, snatching the bracelet and clutching it tightly to her chest.

Thank goodness she made it in time! Just a moment later, Su Ye would have accidentally cut her finger, allowing her blood to drip onto the bracelet and claim ownership of the storage space contained within it.

This was a crucial reason why Su Ye in the book managed to establish herself in Hong Kong.

Previously, out of guilt over that night, she had given her mother’s bracelet to Su Ye when she asked for it. But now, knowing she was merely a stepping stone for Su Ye, Su Wantang felt not an ounce of guilt left.

Having confirmed that the Su Wantang before her was human, Su Ye’s eyes turned fierce.

But Su Wantang gave her no chance to cause trouble. Grabbing the bracelet, she swiftly ran to her own room next door and slammed the door shut with a bang.

Without a moment’s pause, ignoring the pounding on the door, she locked it, pulled open a drawer, took out a diamond brooch, and pricked her finger with its tip.

A drop of crimson blood welled up from her fingertip, which she pressed onto the bracelet. Instantly, the bracelet emitted a soft green glow, its entire surface turning emerald green as if coming to life.

Su Wantang’s face lit up with delight.

But this expression didn’t last long.

Because she discovered the bracelet was continuously sucking her blood, its color shifting from emerald green to a deep, blood-red hue that grew increasingly dark.

Help!

Even Su Wantang, who always cared deeply about her image, felt like cursing out loud.

According to the book’s description, when Su Ye claimed the space, there hadn’t been all this trouble.

A drop of blood on the bracelet, a flash of white light, and the scene before her would transform.

But for her, it felt like it was going to drain her dry.

Was it just because she was destined to be the vicious supporting female character?

Yet Su Wantang believed she had never been vicious, and she refused to accept this fate.

She struggled with all her might, trying to pull her finger away from the bracelet, but it was useless.

The bracelet seemed to have her completely trapped.

The knocking outside continued, with Su’s Father joining in the commotion.

As she lost consciousness, Su Wantang felt only bitterness and rage.

After all she had done—enduring disgust to coax that old pervert into a pleased mood, just to seize the chance to grab the candlestick from the table, knock him out, and escape—was she still doomed to die?

Su Wantang began to feel weak all over, her eyelids growing heavy.

Just when she felt all hope was lost, the bracelet finally had its fill of blood, transforming into a stream of light that vanished into her wrist.

Su Wantang, having lost too much blood, fell into a deep coma.

When she regained consciousness, she felt warm all over, the damp, sticky sensation completely gone.

Puzzled, she opened her eyes and found herself lying in a patch of grassland.

Lush greenery surrounded her, a gentle breeze rustling the grass tips and soothing her restless anxiety.

The grassland wasn’t very large, with a spring bubbling in the center.

Was this the personal space described in the book?

But it seemed somewhat different from the book’s description.

The space Su Ye had opened was only the size of a single room, suitable solely for storage, with no grassland or water source whatsoever.

Yet the scene before her eyes spanned at least two acres of land. With soil available for planting, she would no longer have to worry about starving in the future.

Su Wantang immediately looked at her finger. Though she had only pricked it with a brooch, the moment it touched the bracelet, she distinctly felt as if her very essence were being drained away.

Now, her fingertip appeared smooth and fair, showing no trace of the puncture.

However, a small crimson mark had emerged beneath the skin on the inner side of her wrist, resembling a birthmark.

Yet Su Wantang clearly remembered never having any birthmark.

Curious, she reached out to touch it. Her vision blurred momentarily, and by the time it cleared, she had already returned to the real world.
