SILAS”You think you’re touching that pussy of a boyfriend, Liam?” I asked, a cold smirk tugging at my lips.

This meant nothing to me.

That’s what I told myself, anyway.Full novel: The $500 Million Contracted Bride: Bound To Mr. Blackwood — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Maya’s hand stopped instantly.

She bolted upright, turning to face me with a gasp.

She scrambled to the very edge of the bed, trying to put as much distance between us as possible.

The look on her face was priceless.

Her hair was a tangled mess, and her expression shifted from embarrassed to angry to bright red in less than five seconds.

She dove under the covers, burying her face in her hands as if she could hide from the last few minutes.

I didn’t hold it back.

I actually laughed, the sound echoing in the quiet room.

“Don’t stop on my account,” I mocked.

I sat up, the duvet falling to my waist as I watched her squirm.

“I’d hate for you to finish that thought alone.”

”Shit, shit, shit.” She kept mumbling it over and over.

I watched her.

Was touching me really that bad?

“Why are you here?”

Her voice was muffled and small from under the duvet.

She slowly peeked out, her eyes darting around the room and carefully avoiding mine.

As she took in the unfamiliar space, the realization hit her.

She was in my bed.

In my room.

“Why am I here?” she corrected, finally letting her gaze settle on me.

She looked like she wanted to scream, but the red flush creeping up her neck told me she was mostly just dying of embarrassment.

“Your body gave up before your mouth did,” I said, leaning back against the headboard.

“You fainted.”

”Oh.” Her shoulders relaxed slightly.

She sat up and turned her back to me, staring at the far wall.

“Sorry,” she mumbled.

“What? This story is hosted at g.com.

I didn’t catch that,” I asked.

I played dumb, wanting to hear her say it again.

“Sorry about earlier,” she whispered.

“I’m sorry, what was that?

You need to speak up.

The sound of your ego bruising is a bit loud this morning.” I wasn’t going to let her off easy.

I wanted to get under her skin.

“I said,” she snapped through gritted teeth, spinning around to face me, “I’m sorry about earlier!

Don’t make me say it again!”

She let out a frustrated sigh that was music to my ears.

I could see a dozen more insults sparking in her eyes, but the second I stood up from the bed, her voice died.

Maya’s gaze dropped immediately.

I followed her eyes as they landed on my briefs.

A lingering reminder of how she’d been stroking me only minutes ago while she was half asleep.

I smirked, watching as she turned bright red.

She looked like she was trapped between her embarrassment and the sight she couldn’t seem to look away from.

Finally, she whipped her head back around, staring at the wall as if she could disappear into it.

“What’s the problem?” I provoked.

“I thought you were excited about this yesterday, looking forward to this.

You specifically said you wanted to bounce on it.

I’m just trying to be a good host.”

”Fuck you, Silas.”

I took a step closer.

“Don’t get shy now, sweetheart.

You were much more hands-on a second ago.”

Maya flared up.

She jumped out of bed, spinning around to point a trembling finger at me.

“You—”

Thud.

Thud.

Thud.

A heavy knock came from the door.

“Julian told me she’s in there, Silas!

Open up right now!”

Shit.

Julian.

Of course.

My brother never missed an opportunity to cause a scene.

I sighed and rubbed my temples, heading toward the door.

“Wait,” Maya whispered.

She tip-toed as she ran to grab my arm, her fingers digging into my skin, eyes wide with panic.

“Are you crazy?

Don’t let her in!”

I looked down at her.

She actually looked cute when she was worried.

“What happened to that sharp tongue of yours?

Not ready for a morning audience?”

I ignored her plea and turned the lock.

Isabella burst in, scanning the room until she saw Maya.

She looked at me, then at the bed, then at Maya.

“Did you fuck her?

Did you actually put your hands on this trash, Silas?”

”Isabella,” I warned, “Watch your mouth.

You’re giving me a headache.”

Maya didn’t say a word.

Isabella started charging toward her, Maya took a step back in panic.

I reached out and caught Isabella by the arm, jerking her to a halt before she could get close.

Then I pulled her back to me.

“Actually,” I said, looking at Maya with a smirk, “Maya was—”

”We didn’t do anything!” Maya yelled, cutting me off.

She looked like she wanted the floor to swallow her whole before I could finish that sentence.

Her eyes were wide, filled with the fear that I’d tell Isabella exactly how she’d touched me only minutes ago.

Isabella looked between us, her chest heaving with rage.

I beat her to it before she could let out another word or start screaming again.

“Leave.”
