“Yan, it hurts.”

The next second, a hand clamped around her neck.

The feeling of suffocation was overwhelming.Full novel: The 70s Beauty Wants a Divorce, and the Cold-Faced Army Major is Panicking — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her body felt as if it were being split apart by a sharp axe. Su Nanyue wanted to struggle, but she was pinned firmly to the bed, forced to endure the man’s invasion.

She didn’t know how much time had passed. Just when she thought she was about to be strangled to death, the man’s hand abruptly loosened.

Before she could take a gulp of fresh air, her lips were captured.

The man’s kissing skills were clumsy. To call it a kiss was a stretch; it was more like a vengeful gnawing.

Her body was pinned to the bed. It should have been humiliating.

Yet, a triumphant smile graced the corners of Su Nanyue’s lips.

The man was provoked. His movements grew rougher, his tone laced with undisguised disgust.

“Su Nanyue, are you that desperate for a man?”

Su Nanyue jolted awake from the dream.

She was drenched in a cold sweat, panting heavily.

Turning her head, she saw her reflection in the full-length mirror on the yellowish-brown cabinet—the her on the Earthen Bed.

Her features were delicate, the corners of her eyes were tinged with red, and her palm-sized face was deathly pale.

There was a scabbed-over scar on her forehead. Instead of marring her beauty, it added a touch of fragility, making her look pitifully beautiful.

She’d had that dream again.

It was the spring of 1973.

It was also the eighth day since she had transmigrated.

She had been lying in bed the whole time due to her injury.

In a daze, she’d had erotic dreams for seven consecutive days, all about this man.

The husband of this body, Jiang Yan.

In the dream, Jiang Yan’s face seemed to be shrouded in a white mist, and she could never see it clearly.

She only knew that he had a good figure—a lean waist and smooth, muscular lines.

According to the plot, this should have been something that happened to the original owner of the body.

But it always felt so real to her, so real that it seemed the woman with Jiang Yan in the dream wasn’t the original owner, but her.

Damn it all. She had lived for twenty-two years without so much as touching a man’s hand.

Now, she was having these R-rated dreams one after another, and she had become a married rural woman with children.

On her first day here, she had already figured out that she had transmigrated into a novel.

The original owner shared her name, age, and even looked eighty percent similar to her.

Five years ago, the original owner’s family had suffered a sudden misfortune. She was left homeless on the streets and was kindly taken in by the female lead, Su Wan Ning.

But the original owner repaid kindness with malice. On the eve of Su Wan Ning’s wedding, she drugged her fiancé, Battalion Commander Jiang Yan, and climbed into his bed.

It had to be said that people in this era were simple and honest.

Although Jiang Yan was furious at being set up, he still chose to take responsibility for Su Nanyue.

Before dawn the next day, he submitted a marriage report and married Su Nanyue.

However, he returned to his military unit right after getting the certificate and hadn’t come back once in the following four years.

As for Su Wan Ning, she ended up marrying Jiang Yan’s younger brother, the male lead Jiang Che.

Seeing his older brother making a career for himself in the army, Jiang Che also enlisted.

Within three years, he wrote back, asking Su Wan Ning to bring their child to join him at his military post.

This was a novel about a wife joining her husband at his army post, and the original owner was just a foil to Su Wan Ning in the early stages.

Although the two ended up marrying brothers, their treatment in their husband’s family was worlds apart.

Su Wan Ning could win everyone’s affection without doing anything and even had a genius son.

The original owner, on the other hand, worked herself to the bone taking care of the entire family, yet was still despised as worthless.

Even her twin sons were cursed as little bastards, all because the original owner had given birth half a month prematurely.

So, the Jiang family all believed she was already pregnant before she drugged Jiang Yan and slept with him.

The three children’s birthdays were only ten days apart, but their treatment was drastically different.

According to the plot, Su Wan Ning was due to join her husband at his post in two days.

As for her, she would accidentally fall into a river and drown a month after Su Wan Ning left.

After her death, her two sons were kicked out of the Jiang family, their whereabouts unknown.

But somewhere along the line, something had gone wrong. The original owner, who was supposed to die a month after Su Wan Ning left, had an accident ahead of schedule.

And then, Su Nanyue transmigrated over.

After lying in bed for several days, she still didn’t know if the rest of the plot would continue to unfold.

The thought made her even more furious.

She had died in a car accident in her previous life. Having been given a rare second chance, she didn’t want to die.

She had gone over the plot several times these past few days.

With the uncertainty of future events, if she wanted to live, she had to change the original plot’s trajectory.

First, she had to leave this place to prevent the plot from correcting itself, which might lead to another accident where she would drown and lose her life.

As Su Nanyue was lost in her thoughts, she heard a childish, threatening voice from outside the door.

“Let go! This is mine! If you don’t let go, I’ll have Grandma beat you to death!”

From her memories, she recognized the voice of Su Wan Ning’s genius son.

Su Nanyue quickly got out of bed and walked outside. Because she had been lying down for so long from her injury, coupled with this body’s severe malnutrition, her vision went black as she got up, and she nearly fainted.

Luckily, she reacted quickly and steadied herself against the cabinet. She paused for about two seconds until her vision cleared before continuing outside.

The moment she pulled open the door, she saw a chubby little boy grabbing the hand of a smaller boy.

The smaller boy was dressed in rags, but his skin was fair and his features were delicate. Though clearly no match for the other boy, he held his little hand tightly clenched.

Next to them was another boy with the same features, tugging at the back of the chubby boy’s collar, trying to pull him away.

“Don’t snatch it! Xiao Bao got this from the Educated Youth for helping them cut pigweed.”

The chubby boy wouldn’t listen. He was as big as the other two combined.

“Grandma said you’re just little bastards. Everything in this house is mine.”

Su Nanyue had already pieced together the truth from these few sentences.

She stepped forward and grabbed the chubby boy’s hand that was prying at Xiao Bao’s fingers.

Pulled away by her, the chubby boy directed his rage at her, balling up his fist and swinging it at her.

Su Nanyue caught his hand.

With both his hands caught, the chubby boy struggled violently, shrieking as he did, “You bitch, let go of me!”

Su Nanyue used all her strength to hold both his hands together and gave his bottom a hard slap.

“Calling people a bitch and little bastards with every other word. If your mother won’t teach you, I will.”

The chubby boy burst into tears with a loud “Waaah!”

He cried and shouted, “You dare hit me! I’m going to have Grandma beat you to death!”

Su Nanyue ignored him and delivered another slap.

She used a lot of force, and her palm began to sting.

At first, the chubby boy resisted and cursed, but after a few slaps, he started crying and apologizing.

“I’m sorry, I was wrong.”

Su Nanyue knew he wasn’t sincerely sorry, but she didn’t mind. She had a use for him.

She coldly pinched Jiang Jing Zhou’s face, forcing him to look up, and stared at him with cold eyes. “If I ever hear you say ‘bitch’ or ‘little bastard’ again, I’ll hit you every single time I hear it.”

The chubby boy nodded quickly.

Only then did Su Nanyue let go.

The moment he was free, Jiang Jing Zhou immediately ran toward the main gate.

He was going to find his grandma. When Grandma came back, she would definitely not let this bitch off.

And those two little bastards, he would make them kneel and be his horses.

With this thought, his short legs moved even faster.

In the courtyard.

Su Nanyue stood where she was, catching her breath for a moment to recover her strength before turning around.

Not far away, two identical-looking little boys were watching her warily.

She lifted her leg, about to walk toward them, when she saw them flinch. Da Bao even pushed Xiao Bao behind him.

Though clearly terrified, he tilted his little head up and said, “I was the one who fought with Jiang Jing Zhou. If you’re going to hit someone, hit me. It has nothing to do with Xiao Bao.”

Xiao Bao quickly spoke up from the side, “He was trying to snatch my things. That’s why my brother hit him.”

Su Nanyue’s steps faltered.

A memory of the two little ones flooded her mind.

Because her own life was miserable, the original owner would either hit or curse the two boys, feeling that they were the ones who had dragged her down.

Su Nanyue let out a breath.

The original owner had truly been a monster.

Walking up to them, she raised her hand, wanting to pat Da Bao’s head, only to see him shut his eyes in fear.

Su Nanyue sighed inwardly. She gently ruffled his hair and said softly, “I know. Da Bao, you did nothing wrong. You did a good job.”

She then ruffled Xiao Bao’s head. “Xiao Bao was very brave too.”

She reached out and pulled the two little ones into her arms.

She lowered her head and kissed the tops of their heads.

Feeling the light touch on his head and the warmth of Su Nanyue’s embrace, Da Bao slowly opened his eyes, looking completely bewildered.

He glanced at Xiao Bao and saw that his eyes were red as he leaned cautiously but dependently against Su Nanyue’s shoulder.

He suddenly came to his senses. This woman must be up to no good again.

The last time she had been this nice to them was half a year ago. They had thought she had really changed, but it turned out she was trying to sell them.

If he hadn’t been smart enough to grab a passerby and shout for help, he and Xiao Bao would have been sold.

With this thought, he shoved Su Nanyue away forcefully, pulling Xiao Bao out of her embrace as well.

Shielding Xiao Bao, he took two steps back and glared viciously at Su Nanyue. “Don’t even think about selling me and Xiao Bao again.”

Su Nanyue also remembered this incident. Just as she was about to explain, a sharp female voice came from the doorway.

“You little slut, what a pity that fall didn’t kill you! The moment you wake up, you’re hitting my precious grandson. See if I don’t kill you!”
