The next morning, Ren slowly woke up, only to realize that he wasn’t exactly alone in his bed.

Kuroka was lying right beside him, still completely asleep, her long black hair spread across the pillow while her breathing remained calm and steady.

Ren stared at her for a few seconds before blinking lazily.Full novel: The Almighty. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

‘Does this count as losing your virginity?’ he wondered.

He shrugged internally.

Whatever.

It wasn’t like she was doing anything.

Ren didn’t bother waking her as he quietly got out of bed and headed toward the bathroom.

After taking a shower and getting himself ready for school, he eventually made his way downstairs.

The comforting smell of breakfast filled the house.

Ana-san was already sitting at the kitchen counter with a book in her hands while breakfast cooked nearby.

She looked up the moment she heard his footsteps.

“You woke up early today?” she asked.

“Good morning.

I have something to do at school,” Ren replied as he pulled out a chair and sat beside her.

“Okay.

Breakfast is going to be ready in a moment, alright, dear?”

Ren nodded.

“Thanks.”

He sat there comfortably beside her while she continued reading for a moment.

Eventually, Ana-san closed her book and began telling him about her grandchildren, who were apparently visiting her later that day.

Ren listened patiently, occasionally asking a question or making a small joke whenever she paused.

He genuinely enjoyed these little conversations.

Then the smell of freshly cooked breakfast became even stronger.

Ren’s stomach quietly growled.

Ana-san glanced at him.

“You’re hungry?”

“…Maybe a little.”

She laughed softly before returning to the kitchen.

“Well, you’ll have to wait a few more minutes.”

Ren leaned back in his chair with a sigh.

The next second a loud flushing sound echoed from upstairs.

Both of them turned toward the staircase at the same time.

“What was that?” she asked, frowning slightly.

“Oh, it’s the automatic flushing system,” Ren answered without missing a beat.

“Sensors and everything.

Pretty convenient.”

“Oh, I’ve heard of those.

My son said he’s going to get me one at the end of the month.”

“That’s nice.” Ren stood up a little too quickly.

“I should get dressed.

I’ll be right back.”

He was already halfway up the stairs before she could reply.

On the second floor, the bathroom door clicked open.

Kuroka stepped out like she owned the place, casually drying her hands on a towel. This chapter is updated first at g.com.

She was wearing one of his shirts nothing else.

The hem only reached mid-thigh, leaving her long legs completely bare.

The fabric was slightly oversized on her, slipping off one shoulder.

‘Damn’

Ren locked in immediately.

He closed the distance in two strides, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her straight into his bedroom, shutting the door behind them.

“Yo,” he said in a low voice, “could you turn into a cat for a bit?

Someone’s coming over later to fix the window your friend broke.”

Kuroka raised an eyebrow, clearly amused.

“Huh?

I thought you would tell me to leave.

Don’t tell me you actually like me?”

His expression stayed completely blank.

“Well now that you mention it,” he said flatly, “why are you still here?”

She shrugged, completely unbothered.

“I was tired, so I decided to sleep over.

That’s all.

I’ll be out of your hair after I have some breakfast.”

Ren stared at her for a long second, then let out a quiet sigh.

“Alright.

I’ll bring you breakfast.”

“Yay.”

Without warning she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him in a soft hug, pressing herself fully against his chest.

The soft weight of her breasts squished against him through the thin fabric of the borrowed shirt.

Ren didn’t push her away.

He simply stood there and accepted it.

‘ Man,’ he thought, ‘ boobs really are therapeutic.’

After the hug, Ren simply stepped back and started changing like it was the most normal thing in the world.

Kuroka didn’t even pretend to look away.

She sat on the edge of his bed with her legs crossed, golden eyes openly tracking every movement as he pulled off his shirt and reached for a fresh one.

Her tail flicked once behind her.

‘ What a hunk,’ she thought, completely shameless about it.

He finished getting dressed without acknowledging the staring, then headed downstairs.

The smell of breakfast was already filling the kitchen.

Ana-san had everything ready rice, miso, grilled fish, the usual spread.

The two of them sat down and ate together in comfortable silence.

When they finished, she stood, wiped her hands on a towel, and mentioned she was heading out for her morning walk.

Ren gave a casual wave as the front door closed behind her.

The moment the latch clicked, a blur of black and purple shot down the stairs.

Kuroka appeared in the kitchen like she’d been summoned by the smell alone.

Her nose twitched rapidly, ears perked, mouth already watering.

“Serve yourself.”

She didn’t need to be told twice.

She piled her plate high and started eating with zero restraint while Ren leaned against the counter and watched, half-amused.

At one point she hopped up and sat directly on the kitchen counter to continue eating.

Ren immediately stepped forward and shoved her off with one hand.

“Get those dirty cheeks off my kitchen counter.”

“I’m a clean girl!” Kuroka exclaimed, landing lightly on her feet.

“I don’t believe you.”

That offended her more than it should have.

She huffed, ears flattening, but still finished every last bite on her plate.

Once she was done, she disappeared upstairs for a minute and came back down properly dressed in her usual kimono.

She walked straight up to Ren, rose onto her tiptoes, and pressed a quick, soft kiss against his lips.

“Thanks for letting me stay over,” she said with a playful little smile.

“Next time, I’ll kiss you in another area.”

Before he could reply, a purple magic circle bloomed beneath her feet.

“Say hi to Shirone for me.”

In the next second she was gone, the circle fading into nothing.

Ren stood there for a moment, then let out a long sigh and reached for his school bag.

‘ I’m sure I’m going to be seeing her very soon,’ he thought.

Ren stepped outside, locked the front door behind him, and had barely turned the key when he stopped short.

Souna and Tsubaki were already standing by his gate.

Both of them looked perfectly composed, like they’d been waiting there for a while.

Souna’s arms were loosely crossed; Tsubaki stood half a step behind her with the same quiet, unreadable expression she always wore.

Neither of them looked surprised to see him.

‘ Wow,’ Ren thought.

‘ They weren’t lying.’

He walked down the short path and stepped through the gate.

“This is new,” he said.

Without a word the two of them moved in, each taking one of his arms and linking them firmly through theirs.

The contact was casual but deliberate Souna’s grip light yet possessive, Tsubaki’s steadier and cooler.

Ren glanced between them with a faint, sarcastic smile.

“Hmm.

I didn’t see that coming.”

“Today, you’re ours,” they said almost in unison.

He didn’t even try to argue.

“Sure, girls.”

He started walking, and they fell into step on either side of him without releasing his arms.

The morning streets were still quiet, the usual school-bound students only just beginning to appear in the distance.

Ren kept his expression relaxed, almost bored, but he wasn’t complaining.

Not even a little.

Being claimed this openly by both of them at once was new but ne found he didn’t mind it at all.
