"Here," Leo passed me a cup of tea and I shared him a weak smile, feigning drowsiness in disguise of heavy-lidded eyes.
"So, you said Kai took a stroll, yes?" he asked, and I nodded.
"Sure, sure. He did." I buried my nose into the tea.
Leo was making soup for the house with some homemade bread. I had offered to help earlier, but he just wouldn’t allow me. I wanted to wallow before him, grabbing the hem of his clothes as I begged for his forgiveness, but I knew he’d probably crack my neck at the end when he realized why.
Instead, my mouth was clipped, lips parting to take one sip after the other.
"Did you guys hang out again today?"
I perked up. "Uh, who?"
"Kai, of course. Who else?" Leo’s eyes brightened.
The pot’s lid stirred from compression, making Leo shift his attention from me. Only momentarily. Just enough time to think of something to say.
The words skittered out of me. "Not really. He was out most of the day." I rolled my eyes to the left, my throat suddenly felt dry.
"Funny how you both seem to accommodate each other now. You remember the first two months? Y’all were like Tom and Jerry. I practically believed the hatred would never wither." He jested, catching his breath in between small laughs.
I nodded, that churning sensation turning my stomach again.
"So, when did you two decide to accept your differences?" His wide eyes met my gaze. "Accommodate each other, I mean."
"Um, I really... I mean..." I shrugged.
My head felt empty.
I was so not prepared for this. Leo wasn’t the type to question much about his surroundings, leaving me to bite the inside of my mouth. My fingers tightened around the cup. Did he notice something?
The air felt tense as well.
Or was it just the heat brewing from the pots?
The front door released soft creaks, followed by Kai’s entrance. Hair parted to the left, a few locks lazily shadowing his forehead, his brows carved in the right proportion, he approached with such a domineering presence. His features, as sharp as twilight, glistened under the incandescent filament bulbs.
"Something fancy smells in here, baby."
He pulled Leo close, blowing into the crook of his neck, and I dropped my gaze just in time to catch Kai darting his eyes to my figure.
Leo giggled and pushed him away. "Stop. I reek of sweat and annoying councilmen."
"I told you not to go, you know."
Kai took a seat opposite me. While Leo answered, his legs found mine. "You want me to ignore them like you did? You do remember you’re the Alpha of SilverFang pack, and yes, you’ve got your pheromones and wolf, but what do I defend myself with when they question me?"
"You’re to be by my side, ruling the throne next to me. Just act like it. Take control."
"Hmph." Leo scoffed.
Something about the way they conversed revealed the obvious differences between Kai and Leo. Leo was much more of a submissive. During college, he never participated in any leadership role, for whatever reason I’d never understand.
My mind snapped back to the present when Kai’s toe flicked my pants up at the ankle. I gave him a death glare and coughed reluctantly.
The interruption seemed to give Leo a chance to focus back on cooking.
"Uh, where did you put the honey jar, Leo?"
"I already put enough in the tea."
"I... I just want more," I lied.
Truth be told, I just wanted to get away from Kai. Beads of sweat began to form on my forehead, heat flooding my hole again. Leo pointed at a cupboard hung on the wall. The soreness in my hole slowed my gait. My ass felt as though Kai had burned it with his thick palms.
Those punishing spanks weren’t easy on me. My entire ass was surely still pink, no doubt.
"Trouble walking well?"
"Alex says he’s a bit under the weather," Leo jumped in, answering Kai.
Kai leaned to get the jar for me, his broad chest brushing my face because of the height, and my brain went into a temporary shutdown.
"Here."
"Yes, thanks."
I was heading back to my seat when Kai poked my ass, near my thumping wornout hole. I shut my eyes, the small gasp drawing Leo’s attention.
"Are you okay? Does somewhere hurt?"
"You’re so smart, babe. That must be it. Want me to check it out for you, Alex?" Kai interrupted. I shot him another deadly gaze, earning a ghost of a smile from him.
About an hour later, we were done with dinner. The wind picked at the kitchen’s windowsill, a heavy breeze passing through. Soft music played in the background, courtesy of Kai.
Leo laid his head on Kai’s shoulder when he complained, "My shoulders hurt so badly. The position of Luna isn’t an easy one, honestly."
Kai’s gaze was fixated on mine. In fact, he’d been watching me for some time now. He looked hungry, as though the food wasn’t enough and I was supposedly his next meal. Dark eyes glinted under the shadows, lips thin and clipped, lashes blocking whatever intention he was playing in his Alpha head.
My chest hammered within, and I blurted out, "Kai could help with that, you know."
"True. Kai, I need a massage. Maybe with some happy ending."
For a split second more, Kai remained stiff.
Then, he stirred. "What?"
A new emotion hovered past. Kai had been paying undivided attention to me, but now that he was focused on Leo, it weighed on my heart. This wasn’t the first time Leo and Kai would love play before me, but this time, it... hurt?
Leo led Kai out of the space. Left alone in the kitchen, I gathered the dishes and cleaned them.
Done, I wasted more time before heading to my room.
The night felt cold, and I sprawled on the bed. Sleep wouldn’t come. Leo was probably fucking Kai right now. I tried not to think about it, but I couldn’t help myself.
"Fuck, Alex. Pull yourself together. You aren’t Kai’s fated mate." I groaned, pulling at my hair. "The Alpha belongs to Leo. Don’t get attached and stop... stop sleeping with him." It was a struggle to make that affirmation.
I plopped back into bed, knowing for sure this harem wasn’t clawing at me enough.
A subtle knock landed on the door, and I went to open it.
"Something tells me you’ve been expecting me," Kai said. At the door, right there, he pulled his pants down.
I watched his cock spring from soft to hard, poking forward within seconds. His dark eyes caressed my body, already undressing me without his hands on me.
"Say the word, Alex."
I didn’t think twice.
"Fuck me, Leo."
He smirked, hair glistening under the crescent moonbeams reflecting through the windows as he scooped me up. To the balcony, he ventured, closing the door with a swift move.
"Good boy." A single comment, and my hole was already leaking with the scent of peach.
