All eyes in the classroom fell on them.

Darkness had enveloped the sky above the teaching building at some unknown point.

In the gloomy corners, the shadow Deceits were awakening.

“These Deceits aren’t right,” Yu Chi muttered.

Their killing intent was much stronger than before, and their power had grown significantly.

With a CRACK, the teacher in the classroom stiffly turned his head, his chilling gaze fixed tightly on them.

A shadow, having morphed facial features, clung to his body.

At this moment, the shadow revealed an eerie, treacherous smile at them.

“Kill…

kill…” the teacher spoke slowly.

The skin on his body, however, rapidly mutated into a morbid grayish-blue, and his torso swelled into an inhuman posture.

“Kill the intruders!”

As his voice fell, all the Deceits in the classroom swarmed out, launching a sudden attack on the first squad!

“Scatter!” Although Tan Linyan didn’t know what had happened, it was obvious that these Deceits’ killing intent towards them was unprecedentedly strong—they wanted nothing more than to tear them apart and swallow them whole.

Yu Chi ran in the same direction as Tan Linyan.

His Superpower wasn’t combat-oriented to begin with; he existed in the team primarily as their tactician.

“Captain, what about Bian Ying and Leader Zhou…”

“I’ll contact her.”

An ethereal, incorporeal lightsaber suddenly materialized in Tan Linyan’s hand.

Amidst the flashes of light and shadows of the blade, the shadow Deceits in front of them completely dissipated.

While carving out an escape route for his teammates, Tan Linyan hurried to contact Bian Ying.

“Bian Ying?

Bian Ying, what’s the situation on your end?”

At this time, Bian Ying was running down a small path while sorting out the current situation.

Tan Linyan’s side was definitely being hunted by Deceits as well, so going to them would be of no use.

Thus, she had decisively chosen a different route.

Hearing Tan Linyan’s voice, she cleared her throat.

“I’m here.”

The two briefly explained their respective situations.

Upon learning that Bian Ying was going to find the principal alone, Tan Linyan instinctively vetoed it.

“No way!

Don’t be impulsive.

The principal is possessed by a high-risk Deceit.

It’s not something you can handle alone.”

“I’m very calm,” Bian Ying replied while warily observing her surroundings.

“I just want to awaken the principal.

I don’t plan to eliminate the Deceit.”

She knew her own limits very well.

She had no Superpower and had never received professional training.

Being able to escape from the Deceits was already an impressive feat; why force herself to play on Hell difficulty?

Tan Linyan felt a headache coming on.

Before those Deceits could even get close, they were completely annihilated by the golden light.

Yu Chi silently moved a little further away from his captain.

“I’ll come find you right away.”

As soon as Tan Linyan finished speaking, Bian Ying cut off the comms.

She vigilantly watched the Deceits wandering at the exit of the path ahead.

This small path was relatively hidden, so there weren’t many Deceits, making it something she could still handle.

Once she reached the main road outside, however, those Deceits would be swarming in packs.

Yet, as long as she crossed this road, the building right behind it housed the principal’s office.

Bian Ying looked down at the flashing low-ammo warning on the Energy Gun in her hand and let out a faint sigh.

If only she could tear Deceits apart barehanded like the leaders.

But that was only wishful thinking.

CRUNCH.

Bian Ying deliberately made a noise on the path.

Waiting until the attention of the Deceits outside was drawn over, she immediately darted into the adjacent woods.

Thank goodness she had graduated from Wuhai University, otherwise, she really wouldn’t have known about all these shortcuts.

SWISH!

SWISH!

SWISH!

Shadows permeated the area as a shadow Deceit abruptly appeared.

BANG!

Bian Ying rolled on the ground, dodging the shadow’s attack.

Gritting her teeth, she stood up and continued running forward.

But not long after, she suddenly let out a muffled groan.

“Ugh.”

Shadows sprouted from the dense canopy of the woods and wrapped around her calves, tripping her off guard.

BANG!

Bian Ying fired her gun decisively.

The shadow Deceit dissipated, and she seized the opportunity to rush out of the woods and onto the main road.

The moment she appeared, the Deceits on the road turned to look at her in unison.

Then, they surged forward, one after another.

Sharp winds brushed past her.

The Deceits moved in a ghastly and horrifying manner, and the air was faintly filled with an indescribable sensation.

If anyone else were present, they would immediately realize that the Deceits were releasing contamination on a massive scale.

But Bian Ying felt nothing.

Her psychological fortitude had always been tough—after all, she had scored full marks on the psychological entry test at the Deceit Investigation Bureau.

Without looking back, Bian Ying dashed toward the principal’s office.

Bian Ying’s eyelids twitched violently, and she instinctively reached forward and yanked it.

“Don’t block the way.”

The moment her indignant voice fell, the blood clot—which had originally taken on a devouring posture—turned into a puddle of blood beneath her palm and vanished without a trace.

Bian Ying jumped in fright.

She looked at her clean, fair palm, and a thought inexplicably surfaced in her mind: Could it be that she could tear apart Deceits with her bare hands now too?

However, this thought quickly vanished into nothingness amidst the increasingly shrill and furious gales behind her.

She hastily ran into the building.

Meanwhile, inside the principal’s office.

Eight Evils sensed a little bug approaching Him, and His mood grew increasingly displeased.

He was already annoyed that He couldn’t find any trace of His mother after searching the entire Deceit Domain, yet He didn’t expect someone to be so eager to rush to their death.

Within the Deceit Domain, every move these ants made was under His watchful eyes.

When He saw clearly who the little bug sneaking in was, a look of surprise crossed His face.

A moment later, He smiled.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve encountered such an interesting ant.”

As a reward for the amusement this ant brought Him, He would grant her a quick death.

Seeing that Bian Ying was about to arrive outside the principal’s office, Eight Evils withdrew His tentacles from the school rules and rested quietly on the desk.

KNOCK KNOCK.

A knock sounded at the door.

The principal, who had been frozen in his seat like an unactivated puppet, suddenly seemed to be injected with vitality upon hearing the knock.

He stiffly moved his head.

His eyes still bore a terrifying appearance, and his scarlet pupils had dilated even more than before.

“Come in.”

Bian Ying immediately opened the door and walked in.

The shadow Deceits chasing behind her pounced on empty air and could only pace resentfully outside the door.

“Principal, we meet again.” Bian Ying smiled, scanning the room.

Upon finding no sign of a certain mama’s boy Deceit, she silently breathed a sigh of relief.

The principal stared at her expressionlessly.

“The presentation is over.”

He was reminding Bian Ying that her current identity was that of an intruder.

However, Bian Ying acted as if she hadn’t caught his underlying meaning and nodded cooperatively.

“It is over, but I still have one confusion that hasn’t been resolved.

I hope the principal can provide an answer.”

“…What is it?” A hint of puzzlement crept into the principal’s tone.

Even Eight Evils, lurking in the shadows, wasn’t sure what this fragile human was trying to do.

Bian Ying took out the archive file she had swiped from the record room behind her back.

She spoke methodically, “I’m very curious.

Why did this girl named Lin Zhiyu commit suicide…

Was it due to improper school management or something else?”

Upon hearing the name “Lin Zhiyu,” the principal, whose consciousness had been invaded by the Deceit, suddenly began to tremble violently.

He lost his previous calmness, his tone turning agitated and panicked.

“S-shut up!”
