I have always been my daddy‘s spoiled little girl.
All I needed to do was snap my fingers to get things done for me.
I remember one day Dad invested in a chocolate factory because I loved their salted caramel chocolate bars.
The factory decided to stop producing those bars, and that couldn’t stand with me being upset, so this is how CarEmily was born.
I was just eight years old when that happened.
He bought me a Lamborghini in every color and shade for my first car.
He told me that I would be riding matching cars with my outfits.
He was my rock.
I knew when it all fell down, even then Dad would be the one by my side.
He would take my words no matter what.
It was like his entire existence was dedicated to standing by my side all the time.
Not only was I feeling blessed to have such a father like him, but I also knew that I had to choose a dad like him for my future children.
As the luckiest daughter on earth, it would have been such a struggle for me to witness my kids growing up in the misery of poor fatherhood.
I believe I could settle for a life of just making ends meet, but having a child with the absence of a good father would be a real struggle for me.
My morning in the bedroom of my parents‘ mansion made me a little nostalgic and dragged me into some thoughts.
I heard my mom knocking on my door.
Thank God, I figured out how to leave Eduardo’s room just in time.
If I had been even ten minutes later, I would have been dealing with an early morning drama: “An heiress of the billionaire Arquette family, Emily Arquette, is taking advantage of her humble bodyguard!”
“No, I don‘t! He didn’t act like he was being taken advantage of last night,” I said to my inner voice.
“Emily? Are you there, hun? I‘m coming in,” Mom said from outside the door.
“Yeah, Mom. What’s up?” I said before she entered.
I got up from my bed as she was walking into my room.
“You’re still in bed this late in the morning? I’m worried. Do you want me to call a doctor?”
It was around 8 a.
M.
My morning routine usually started around 3 a.
M., so Mom was right to be worried. New chapters come out on g.com first.
“No, I’m fine,” I said.
“I just wanted to be lazy today.
I’ll be back at work as soon as I get to Mexico City.
A lot of work has been delayed because of yesterday‘s drama, as you know.
I need to get things back on track.
So, I decided to be lazy and cozy this morning.”
“Oh, okay.
Nothing matters to me as long as you’re fine, after all.
I think we should go shopping since you’re here.”
“Mom, I’m supposed to leave right after breakfast.”
“Can’t you stay a bit longer?
I miss my daughter.”
She seemed so sweet saying this.
“I miss you too, Mom.
But you know, your daughter is all grown up now, and she’s running her own business, which has already made over 10 million.”
“Oh, thank God!
My daughter is going to save me from poverty!
My own family inheritance and a billionaire husband, who is also the daddy of my greedy daughter, weren’t making enough money already!” she said sarcastically.
“Stop with the sarcasm, Mom.
You know I don’t do this for money.
My own success makes me satisfied.
Although my business relationships and investments rely on Dad’s power.”
“Don’t be modest, baby.
You’re well on your way to becoming an outstanding businesswoman.
I’m so proud of you, just like your daddy.”
“Speaking of him, why did he act like that yesterday, Mom?
That was the first time he took credit for someone else’s words and accusations against me.
If it weren’t for the footage, I would have been in trouble, and poor Eduardo would have been dragged into that with me.
He did what he was obligated to.”
“I think Markers and your dad recently signed a contract for a business overseas…
Somewhere in the Middle East or something.
Marker Group was going to invest, and our company would operate…
Something like that.
It was so recent, and your dad probably didn’t want to piss them off.”
“Oh no! Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
They’ll probably withdraw from the investment.
Dad’s in trouble.
Big trouble.”
“Don’t worry, baby.
He’s going to handle it.
We are The Arquettes, after all.”
We heard one of the maids outside my bedroom door.
“Madame Arquette, Sir Arquette sent me to tell you that breakfast is ready, and there’s also an extra seat for Mr. Garcia this morning.”
I giggled with Mom after hearing this.
That was Dad’s way of apologizing.
“I’m coming in ten,” I said to send Mom out so I could wake Eduardo up.
First, I hopped in the shower and washed off the marks of Eduardo’s touches.
Then I got ready for breakfast and sneaked into Eduardo’s room like I did the night before.
He was already up, speaking on the phone in Spanish.
“Ah sí, ah sí… Ya me voy. ¡Hasta luego!” Then he hung up immediately.
“I thought you were asleep. Sorry for breaking into your room like that,” I said.
He grabbed me by my waist, buried his head in my neck, and took a deep breath of my scent before pressing his lips against my pulse.
“You’re the boss of me in every way, Emily. You can do whatever you want with me or to me.”
I giggled before pressing my lips against his.
“The breakfast is ready. Dad is waiting for us,” I said.
“Okay, let’s go then.”
I kissed Dad on his right cheek once I was in the dining room.
He was following the stocks on his iPad.
He told us he had a surprise for us after breakfast and took us to the garage.
There it was: a timeless classic; the Rolls Royce Sweptail.
“Oh my God! Dad!” I responded with joy, putting my arms around his neck.
“I’m surprised that this time you purchased it in just one color,” I said, mocking him.
“Oh, Emily!
Honey, if you knew you wanted one, I would have purchased one for you too.”
“This is not for me?” I asked, surprised.
“Baby, I ordered this to apologize to your bodyguard. An apology and also to show gratitude to him. Nobody would have had the guts to lay a finger on someone like Benjamin. He protected you regardless. So, this is for you, gentleman,” Dad said, tossing the keys directly to Eduardo.
That was something between an insult and an appreciation that only one’s personality could decide on.
