Shockwave sidestepped, effortlessly dodging the incoming blade.

He even had the leisure to observe the attacker’s appearance—black hair, black eyes, an East Asian face, young, with eyes so hollow they looked as if her soul had been gouged out.

Shockwave reached out, preparing to seize Kimiko’s wrist.

At that very moment.

Lucas pounced from behind Shockwave.

He was still invisible, but his attack was no longer silent.

He concentrated all 75 points of Strength into his right fist and slammed it hard into Shockwave’s lower back.

“Bang!”

The dull sound of impact echoed through the lounge.

Shockwave’s body stumbled forward two steps, his face contorted in pain.

Although Lucas’s punch wasn’t fatal, the force was great enough to make his kidneys feel as if they had been struck by a hammer.

“There’s another one?!”

Shockwave’s expression changed completely.

He felt it—the invisible attacker was still there.

Moreover, he wasn’t far away; he was less than two meters from him.

It was an utterly terrifying experience.

You can feel the presence of danger, you can feel the air moving, the sound of footsteps approaching, but your eyes tell you that there is only you and that girl crouching in the corner of the room.

Your brain is torn between two contradictory signals.

Shockwave’s eyes began to scan the surroundings frantically, trying to catch Translucent’s position from the light, dust, or any subtle sign.

But he saw nothing.

This made his movements hesitant.

If he could see the enemy, he could explode with his limit speed right now, kicking up a destructive storm in this lounge and tearing everything apart.

But he couldn’t see.

He didn’t know which direction to charge or where to throw his fists.

He would be forced into a passive position.

This was exactly the effect Lucas wanted.

“Kimiko!”

Lucas let out a low shout.

This was another signal.

Hearing his voice, Kimiko immediately judged his position—behind Shockwave, slightly to the left.

She charged forward again without hesitation.

The Boning knife traced an arc, aimed at Shockwave’s throat.

Shockwave dodged again. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.

But this time, his reaction was a fraction slower.

Because at the moment of dodging, he had to keep an eye on Translucent behind him at the same time.

His attention was divided, his judgment was interfered with, and his speed was consequently compromised.

The blade grazed his shoulder, slicing through his Racing suit and leaving a shallow bloodstain on his skin.

Shockwave bared his teeth.

“Damn it…

you two!”

He finally realized a problem.

This lounge was too small.

For a Speedster, space is the greatest enemy.

Shockwave needed straight lines, open ground, and enough distance to build up speed and unleash his true strength.

But here, in a lounge of only thirty square meters, filled with furniture, clothes racks, and storage boxes, his speed was compressed to its minimum.

He couldn’t sprint at full power.

If he hit a wall at supersonic speed, even as a Supe, he would be seriously injured.

And his two opponents happened to be exploiting this weakness.

One in the light, one in the dark.

One attracting attention from the front, one ambushing from behind.

They coordinated as if they had practiced countless times.

Shockwave grit his teeth and decided to change his strategy.

He stopped trying to find Translucent.

He focused his attention on Kimiko—she was visible, she was real, and she was a target he could attack.

As long as he dealt with her first, Translucent would lose his cover.

Shockwave took a deep breath, his legs bending slightly.

Then, he exploded.

Although he couldn’t sprint at full power, explosive movement over short distances was still his specialty.

His body instantly turned into an afterimage, appearing in front of Kimiko.

His fist slammed toward her abdomen.

Kimiko didn’t have time to dodge.

Shockwave’s speed was too fast, so fast that before her brain could even issue a command, the fist had already smashed into her body.

“Oof!”

Kimiko’s body was sent flying backward like it had been hit by a truck, knocking over the storage boxes behind her and slamming heavily against the wall.

She slid to the ground.

A trickle of blood seeped from the corner of her mouth.

If it were an ordinary person, this punch would have been enough to snap their spine and shatter their internal organs.

But Kimiko was no ordinary person.

She slowly, extremely slowly, climbed up from the ground.

Shockwave’s eyes widened.

What was he seeing?

The hoodie on Kimiko’s abdomen had been torn by the wind of his punch, revealing the skin beneath.

But on that patch of skin, a terrifying wound was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Torn muscle fibers reconnected, broken blood vessels closed on their own, the purple bruising dissipated within seconds, and the skin returned to its original color.

Rapid self-healing.

Shockwave’s pupils contracted.

She raised her hand, wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, and gripped the Boning knife tightly again.

She charged from the side, the Boning knife thrusting straight toward Shockwave’s ribs.

Shockwave hastily sidestepped and blocked with his left arm.

The blade sliced his forearm, and blood splattered.

“Fuck!”

Shockwave kicked Kimiko.

She was sent flying again.

But this time, as she flew out, Lucas pounced from another direction.

His right foot whipped up a gust of wind, sweeping fiercely toward the left leg Shockwave was using for support.

Shockwave sensed the danger to his leg and instinctively jumped to avoid it.

But his center of gravity was already unstable.

Although Lucas’s sweep didn’t connect, the successful interference caused Shockwave to lose his balance in mid-air.

The moment he landed, he stumbled half a step.

Kimiko charged forward once more.

This time, she didn’t use the knife.

She lunged onto Shockwave, her hands tightly gripping one of his arms.

Her strength wasn’t as great as Shockwave’s, but her weight combined with the impact was enough to delay Shockwave’s movements by a fraction of a second.

Shockwave tried to shake her off.

But Kimiko was like a piece of sticky candy, impossible to shake.

Her fingers dug into Shockwave’s muscles, her nails sinking into his skin.

Her teeth bit into Shockwave’s shoulder like an enraged beast.

Maybe it’s not a big deal now… maybe it will be later.

“And If you’re enjoying it, drop a Power Stone for me!”
