Heaven knows that Yu Xingzhi, standing tall at 1.89m with a firm, athletic build from years of training, was no lightweight. Yet, Yin Shuwei handled him effortlessly, running as if he weighed nothing.
With her tall, graceful figure and fluid movements, Yin Shuwei wore a bright, carefree smile that shone like the sun, almost melting away the darkness and loneliness surrounding Yu Xingzhi.
The wind howled past their ears, but all Yu Xingzhi could hear was the frantic beating of his own heart.
They were like a pair of newborn birds, spreading their wings and soaring toward freedom.
“Yu Xingzhi, hurry, grab it, grab it!” In an instant, they reached the finish line. Yin Shuwei’s voice rang in his ears, pulling Yu Xingzhi out of his daze.
No wonder the princess carry was the best choice—Yu Xingzhi could easily search for items without even needing to ask Yin Shuwei. He only had to pay attention to the subtle shifts in her expression.
If her eyes were downcast and motionless, she didn’t like it. If her eyes flickered and her facial muscles tensed slightly, she did.
After smoothly selecting three dishes, Yu Xingzhi held three small colored balls in his arms. Seeing Yin Shuwei’s satisfied smile, he couldn’t help but curve his lips into a faint smile, like a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds after rain and snow.
The cameraman captured this moment, and the live comments went wild.
【Holy shit holy shit holy shit! Yu Xingzhi’s face is god-tier! Yin Shuwei, this brat, is way too blessed!!!】
【Are they going for “marriage first, love later” route? So trendy!】
【I’m crying—amid all these suffocating marriages, I finally see a glimpse of sweet, genuine romance】
Only then did the others arrive. Since they were doing a piggyback carry, and the table was relatively low, the men had to lower their heads and bend their waists to choose items, making the whole process exhausting.
Lu Jinming was the last to arrive. “Rongrong, you should really watch your weight—you’ve gained some again, haven’t you? If you were a bit lighter, I could princess-carry you.”
Lin Rongrong didn’t say anything. She hurried to make her selections, and the moment she said she was done, Lu Jinming immediately set her down.
“Don’t blame the road for being uneven when your back is weak, Mr. Lu.” Yin Shuwei said. Yu Xingzhi’s smile had dazzled her so much she’d even forgotten to put him down.
Only then did Lu Jinming realize—Yin Shuwei and Yu Xingzhi were carrying each other the other way around!
“Yu Xingzhi, don’t you find this embarrassing?” He couldn’t win against Yin Shuwei in an argument, but he could pick on Yu Xingzhi, who seemed like the quiet type.
To his surprise, Yu Xingzhi replied, “Are you jealous?”
Nearby, Shen Jin, who had just finished helping Yao Yueying make her selections, glanced in Yu Xingzhi’s direction, his eyes dark and unreadable.
“What does this have to do with jealousy?” Lu Jinming found that ever since joining this show, nothing had gone his way. He was sick of it.
Yin Shuwei carried Yu Xingzhi back and forth, not even flushed or short of breath, completely at ease. “Something I—a weak woman—can do so easily, and you can’t. Tsk, tsk, tsk.”
Seeing Lu Jinming on the verge of exploding, Lin Rongrong hurried over, trying to hold him back.
But Lu Jinming was too furious to care. With a sweep of his hand, he pushed Lin Rongrong away.
Already unsteady in her high heels, Lin Rongrong was unable to stand still and was about to fall. She had already closed her eyes, but then she felt a gust of wind sweep past her. Suddenly, her body became weightless, lifted into the air.
A hand at her waist—warm and strong—spun her around once, then set her down steadily.
“Babe, you’re not heavy at all.”
Lin Rongrong opened her eyes just as she heard these words and saw Yin Shuwei’s smiling face.
【Oh ho, Lu-san, looks like the lilies are blooming in your yard.】
【Who wouldn’t love this?! I mean, who wouldn’t?!】
【Yin Shuwei really loves putting on a show—so annoying.】
【Still better than a dog man!】
Before Lu Jinming could even process what happened, he turned around to find his wife in someone else’s arms, with only Yu Xingzhi standing in front of him. For a moment, his brain felt completely fried.
Seeing the lingering fear on Lin Rongrong’s face, he looked down at the hand he had used to push her away, confused about what had been going on with him lately.
Perhaps it was what his friends called the “seven-year itch”—after all, between husband and wife, how could things stay the same forever?
Besides, over the years, he had worked so hard for the company and for their family, while Lin Rongrong, who had been standing still, always complained so much—wasn’t that just unreasonable?
He had even accompanied her to this meaningless show and put up with a madwoman like Yin Shuwei. Wasn’t that enough proof of his love?
The scene suddenly fell silent. No one spoke.
Once again, Yao Yueying stepped in like a peacemaker. “Winning and losing in games is perfectly normal. Even friends might argue during team battles. Today was actually pretty fun—why don’t we go exchange for dinner with the production team?”
【Sister Yao is so classy—everyone else here is crazy.】
【Wait, Yao Yueying still has fans? Without President Shen, who does she think she is?】
【Shen Jin’s dream girls, tone it down. Shen Jin himself hasn’t said anything—yet you’re all jumping around every day.】
“Maybe we could even share…” After all, the production team hadn’t explicitly forbidden it.
Yao Yueying had barely finished half her sentence when she saw Yin Shuwei already happily heading toward Director Zhen. Picking up the food box, she and Yu Xingzhi cheerfully left in the direction Director Zhen pointed out.
It seemed she hadn’t dwelled on what had just happened at all.
Noticing Shen Jin’s gaze, Yao Yueying didn’t say anything more instead let Shen Jin take the small colored balls to exchange for their dinner with the crew.
Lin Rongrong also watched Yin Shuwei’s retreating figure. The night breeze was chilly, yet she could still catch the faint, lingering scent of Yin Shuwei’s perfume—like a small osmanthus tree in the forest, elusive yet enduring.
Before Lu Jinming could say anything, she went to exchange for their dinner.
The crew hadn’t made accommodations too difficult for the guests. They were all two-story self-built houses with balconies and yards.
The surroundings were planted with vegetables, with chickens and ducks being raised nearby. In front of the first floor was a concrete drying yard; once inside was the main hall. Both the master bedroom and the guest room were upstairs, required a walk up a short flight of stairs.
The stairs posed no difficulty for Yin Shuwei. With Yu Xingzhi carrying the important food box, she swiftly went up with two pieces of luggage, leaving the following cameraman drenched in sweat.
After all, hauling a camera up the stairs was truly exhausting!
Once upstairs, Yin Shuwei discovered the guest bedroom was locked. Fortunately, after entering the master bedroom, she found the crew had prepared two beds.
After all, this wasn’t some couple’s travel show—it was a show people joined because they were having conflicts. Quarreling during the day and cuddling at night—what kind of nonsense would that be? The first ones to be angered to death would be the viewers.
After putting away the luggage and taking a look around, Yin Shuwei said to Yu Xingzhi, “The production team still has some conscience. Before coming, I even thought there’d be some competition and we’d pick rooms based on rankings—ending up with some shabby little shack or something.”
After all, that’s how things usually went in entertainment industry novels.
Fortunately, the toilet and shower room was normal. If it had been a traditional pit latrine, Yin Shuwei would have wanted to kill Director Zhen.
Yu Xingzhi withdrew his gaze from the two beds and, very naturally, began setting out the dishes on the coffee table. He tore open the disposable chopsticks, washed them clean, dried them thoroughly, and only then handed them to Yin Shuwei.
Yin Shuwei took them and dug right in—stir-fried shrimp, spicy diced chicken, and lotus root pork rib soup—how satisfying.
“Yu Xingzhi, the only reason you get to eat this well is because of me.” Without her, this family would have fallen into chaos long ago, with tragedies unfolding and no way to escape.
Then she heard Yu Xingzhi, head lowered, ask, “Will you hug other people too?”
Hug what?
Before she could figure it out, Yu Xingzhi spoke again, “Apple juice or orange juice?”
“Apple, apple!” A foodie brain always prioritizes eating.
【They’re the only ones eating so heartily…】
【Obviously! Yin Shuwei’s just here to torture others for fun — she’s got a thick skin.】
【It’s hard to explain. I know Yao Yueying is very annoying, but there’s something strange about the way she and Shen Jin interact.】
Yin Shuwei had no time to mind other people’s affairs. After setting aside her change of clothes, she lay prone on the bed, pondering what to do next. The original plot hadn’t written this far—what was she supposed to do now? Shen Jin was clearly brewing some scheme he hadn’t unleashed yet, so she had to stay on guard. What frustrated her most was her current lack of strength—if only she had the power to eliminate the enemy at its root.
That night, she’d called the police, and later cooperated with the investigation. Nothing implicated her, and Shen Jin wasn’t dragged into it either. Even though she’d long expected this outcome, Yin Shuwei was still deeply annoyed.
Just as she was thinking, the bathroom door opened. Billowing steam poured out, wrapping around the silhouette of a broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted figure as it emerged.
