Ivory
I didn’t believe I actually fell asleep.
The covers were still around me when I jolted awake, and my face instantly flushed as soon as I remembered everything that happened last night.
My eyes widened when I sighted a few droplets of blood on the bed, the sight daunting and scary, my head grew lightheaded at once.
He didn’t touch me last night, did he?
As that question echoed through me, I quickly pressed my legs together, waiting for pain.
But I felt nothing.
That made me frown in confusion.
“Good. You’re awake.” A voice called from the side and I jumped, my face flushing sgsin on realizing Madame Anabel was present right now, and three maids were right behind her.
“Uh… where’s the king?” I asked and she clicked her tongue, her eyes briefly rakikg over me.
“He already left and he instructed me to show you to your new room.”
Relief flooded my veins and I eagerly accepted the robe handed to me, shrugging into it fast.
The three maids present here instantly began to tidy everywhere, their heads bowed in respect.
It was at the tip of my tongue to tell them that their king didn’t touch me last night because they undoubtedly believed last night really happened and well, it’s embarrassing that the entire palace now believes that, especially when it didn’t happen.
I didn’t end up saying a word to them before following Madame Anabel out.
As I walked beside her; I wanted to ask her a bunch of questions but didn’t dare to, not after the last time.
She was a snitch, and I’ll do well to remember that.
“So, I believed last night was fun for you, yes? It’s what the entire palace is talking about.” She drawled, shooting me a look and I suppressed a groan.
Great.
Just great.
This is even more humiliating than I predicted
“Um… I’d rather not talk about it, please.” I managed to squeak out, my eyes pointedly lowered as we walked past a bunch of maids and guards, who just wouldn’t stop staring at me.
We finally arrived in my new room after what felt like forever, and a deep sigh of relief left my mouth as I walked in.
The room was so spacious, shocking me cause for some reason, I expected to be given a very small room.
But this room was very big, and exquisitely decorated.
Bright lights and white and walls, elegant chandelier and lights, a very big bed, tall mirrors, a towering closet, and so on.
“Wow. This is insane.” I cried out, turning around a little.
“Your new rules to follow are here.” Madame Anabel called out from behind me, her face expressionless as she handed me a scroll.
“From the king?” This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.
She scoffed.
“Who else? He has better things to do than to relay these rules to you physically, so you’ll settle for this.”
I frowned but wordlessly accepted the scroll, wondering why she was just so cold and bitchy to me, especially when I’ve never insulted her so far.
I unrolled the scroll, my eyes dragging over the rules there.
1: don’t ever come to me yourself.
If I ever need you, I’ll send for you.
2: don’t EVER cause trouble.
3: est alone.
Don’t ever expect, or invite, or wait for me to come eat with you.
4: we’re strangers.
This sham marriage doesn’t change that, and do well to always remember that.
5: don’t EVER come to my room, or my wing in general.
6: number 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1.
They’re all important.
7: Don’t cause trouble.
Never forget that you’re not an actual Luna.
If you do, you’ll face severe consequences.
8: this is your life now.
Don’t bother trying to run away.
9: I’ll never fall in love with you.
Don’t ever expect that.
10: No one must know that last night didn’t happen.
I reread those rules after the first time; and the more I did, the angrier I got.
How dare he?
Pompous much?
Cause why did he believe I’d ever fall for him?
Or willingly go to his room? Find the original chapter at g.com.
Or try to eat with him?
“Fucking bastard.” I bit out in irritation.
I crumbled the scroll fast, my teeth gritted… but then I abruptly stopped on remembering that Madame Anabel was still here.
Shit.
I glanced up at her, a sheepish look on my face as I straightened out the scroll.
“Ah… nice rules. I’ll uphold all of them.” I muttered awkwardly, a forced smile on my lips.
If Madame Anabel noticed that I was bullshitting, she didn’t bother pointing that out.
Her sharp gaze only bored into mine as she spoke.
“You had better.”
She turned around and walked out of the room right after, the door slamming closed after her.
I heaved in relief, my legs wobbling underneath me as I crumbled to the ground.
~~~
I was about to leave my new room to go look for breakfast, after showering and changing into one of the simple dresses I saw in my new closet, which had been filled with different kinds of outfits.
However, I was taken aback when the door flew open and Violet stepped in.
She was dressed like she was about to go to a high class party, her heels and light green outfit beyond elegant , and she strutted right towards me.
“Aren’t you gonna greet me? Where are your manners?” She questioned sharply, her green eyes narrowed at me.
I hesitated, regarding her and contemplating what to do next.
I really don’t want to cause trouble, especially after yesterday where she slapped me.
However, I had a feeling if I start giving into her easily, she’ll just start bullying me.
“Shouldn’t you be the one to greet me? Considering you came in here… uninvited at that.”
Shock marred her face, her mouth falling open.
“This little bitch… you think you’re the shit now just because of this sham marriage??” She demanded sharply, stepping closer to me.
“I didn’t say that, I just said—”
“But you did!” She cut me off, gripping my hair and wrenching so hard before i could stop her.
“Ow… please stop.” I cried out, trying to pull away.
But she was stronger, and she crackled right in my face.
“No cause now you think you’re the shit, hun?” She questioned again, already dragging me after her before I could try to respond.
“Clearly, you need to be reminded of your place before all of this gets to your head.”
