“What do you want?” I managed through clenched teeth, pushing past the overwhelming pain blazing in my knees.
She clicked her tongue and let the silence stretch out between us for a bit.
“Nothing from you, cause what can you offer me anyway?”
I shot her a look that I hoped conveyed the exact amount of hatred I was feeling for her right now.
“Even if I have anything to offer you, lll rather watch it burn than to offer it to you.”
That made her smile widen, then she kicked me hard in the stomach.
I doubled over in pain, letting out a winder cry.
The pointed part of her shot jabbed right against my abdomen, and it hurt really bad.
She did it a few times, just cause she could and my hands couldn’t protect my stomach.
And she kept laughing each time she landed a powerful kick.
I tried hard to not cry, not wanting to give her that satisfaction, but the tears fell at some point, and they were angry ones.
Ones birthed by pure rage.
“Aw, look who’s crying now.” She cooed as she finally stopped, an amused expression on her face.
I remained silent, struggling to catch my breath and also stop myself from letting out more tears.
I wondered how the guards didn’t even bother to stop her throughout all she did to me.
“Why did you think reporting to auden was gonna end in positive results, huh?” She finally crouched in front of me and cooed, her fingers brushing through my tears.
And I felt utterly disgusted, choosing not to respond.
“You should have tried threatening me with that at least, then I’d have instantly let you know that it’s basically impossible, that He’d never believe you and you’d just be wasting your time.” She continued and she was clearly right.
He didn’t even consider that I might not be lying for a second.
A sharp slap suddenly landed on my face, whipping my head sideways.
Pain throbbed in my cheek before Violet dug her fingers in my cheek and forced me to stare at her.

She dug her nails into my cheek and I believed she drew blood from how much it hurt before she finally pulled away.
She straightened her dress and made a show of dusting her shoes.
“I’ll be off now. Enjoy your punishment, love.” She urned around and walked off just as elegantly as she arrived.
I wasn’t sure I’ve ever felt as pathetic as I do right now.
I remained in the same spot, hurt washing over me, along with so much pain.
Hours passed and no one came to announce that I’ve been set free.
More hours passed.
The sun increased to an unbearable state.
I was yet to eat or drink anything today, meaning I was beyond drained.
My knees hurt so much, tears sprang to my eyes each time I moved to try taking the weight off certain spots.
There was no flowing blood in my arms which were pinned high off my head, and overall, I’ve never felt this numb, hurt, weak, derilious and sick to my stomach beforeh.
The world began to dim around me.
At first, I thought it was the sun going down, till my head began to spin and I felt something grab me and pull me underneath, into pitch darkness.
Auden’s pov
Bret and I were the only one here in the throne room right now.
“You have a busy schedule tomorrow, your majesty, starting from the—”
The doors of the throne rooms suddenly burst open and Ezra stormed in without knocking, his eyes shifting around fast as he basically crossed the room in seconds.
There was no grins on his face, no lazy gait in his walk, which means he was serious.
And he rarely gets in his serious mood.
“Why are you here?” I asked bluntly, my voice sharp.
“She’s fucking fainted!” He bit out, standing at the foot of my throne.
“What?” I frowned, my irritation worsening.
“If this is a joke, then show yourself out, I don’t have time for this.” I ground out fast.
I was too busy for any of his bullshit right now/
He threw his hands up, his voice rising.
“Ivory. Your new wife. She’s fucking fainted cause you ordered her to kneel in the fucking sun!”
I went still as his words blasted over me like bullets, replaying in my head fast.
Ivory’s face returned to my mind at once and I remembered ordering my guards to have her kneel in the sun as punishment while I was angry because of the shit she pulled off.
“She fainted.” I finally spoke, my voice neutral and giving nothing away.
“Have the palace’s doctor look her over.” I said to Bret who nodded and walked out of the throne room at once, closing the door after him.
“Anything else?” I said to Ezra whose mouth hung open, a look of disbelief on his face.
“Anything e- else? She’s hurt! How could you punish her like that? What could she have done to warrant that?” He cried out, looking genuinely perplexed and I felt the anger within me thicken.
“This is no concern of yours, Ezra. I don’t understand what your point is now.”
Ezra visibly grinded his teeth, his eyes blazing with anger.
I just wasn’t sure if it was directed at me because of ivory, or just because of his usual hatred for me.
“You’re so fucking heartless! She’s so fucking fragile, how can you ask her to kneel on fucking iron?” He yelled now and I rolled my eyes now.
Yep.
His anger is clearly because of his crippling hatred for me.
He’s just using ivory as an excuse to run his mouth at me.
Smart idiot.
It was easy to figure that out cause Ezra was the most selfish person to ever graze the earth, and he’d only ever care about himself from now to enternity.
