Sang Yu diligently finished Huo Yan’s homework for him.

But she didn’t accept any payment from him.

Huo Yan handled this indifferently as well, without saying anything.Full novel: The Dark and Brooding Big Shot’s Little Fairy is Super Flirty — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

When school ended in the evening, Sang Yu left immediately after class.

Zhang Qile curiously turned around. Since he returned at noon, the new classmate hadn’t spoken at all, and Yan Ge also seemed to be in a bad mood.

“Yan Ge, what did you do to the new classmate?” Zhang Qile asked curiously.

Huo Yan lifted his eyelids and cast him a cold glance, his tone devoid of warmth. “Zhang Qile, you’ve been talking a lot lately.”

“I’m just concerned about the new classmate,” Zhang Qile justified himself.

Huo Yan scoffed, picked up his backpack with one hand, and walked out.

“Hey, Yan Ge, wait for me!” Zhang Qile hurried after him. “Are we going to the Internet cafe today? I have a friend…”

“Boss, are you hiring part-time workers here?”

Sang Yu stood obediently in front of the Internet cafe’s cashier counter, her backpack on her shoulders.

A stylishly dressed young blonde woman looked up, scanning her for a couple of seconds.

“A student from Huaqing?”

“Yes.” Sang Yu nodded calmly and smiled at the boss.

The woman looked away and lit a cigarette. “Twenty yuan per hour. Come for three hours every day after school. Can you do that?”

“Yes.” Sang Yu nodded. “Can I start today?”

“Fine.” The boss stood up and moved aside. “Do you know how to operate this?”

She gave Sang Yu a quick demonstration, and Sang Yu, being clever, learned it immediately.

The main tasks were helping customers purchase items and handling payments.

After the boss left, Sang Yu sat at the cashier computer, stored her backpack in the cabinet, and took out her homework to place on the desk.

She turned on the computer and entered a website.

It was a site she frequently visited in her previous life, used by people in the computer industry both domestically and internationally, called anma. The site featured many tasks posted within the industry, and one could earn money by taking them.

Sang Yu registered an account using her current phone number. When it came to choosing a username, she paused for a moment and set it as “yan.”

The tasks on the site varied widely. Not wanting to draw attention right away, Sang Yu picked one of medium difficulty.

The task poster was involved in scientific research and needed someone to write a code. The reward upon completion was twenty thousand yuan.

Sang Yu immediately accepted the task. After system verification, she began communicating with the task poster.

The other party was very straightforward and didn’t ask many questions. They agreed on a delivery time one week later, with 30% of the payment deposited into Sang Yu’s account upfront and the remainder paid after the code was running.

Soon, Sang Yu’s phone notified her that six thousand yuan had been deposited.

She breathed a slight sigh of relief—she shouldn’t go hungry for now.

Sang Yu downloaded the materials. Once the full payment came through, she could buy her own computer to use at home, but for now, she still needed to use the Internet cafe’s computer.

Having gone hungry since morning, Sang Yu went to the vending machine in the front hall of the Internet cafe and bought a cup of instant noodles.

She worked on her homework while waiting for the noodles to cook.

“Ding dong—” A nearby alert sounded.

It was a customer in one of the private rooms requesting assistance with a purchase.

Sang Yu immediately stood up and went over, knocking on the private room door. The smell of smoke wafted out.

She didn’t look up at the people inside, only hearing a coquettish female voice say, “Yan Ge, why are you ignoring me?”

Sang Yu’s hand on the doorknob paused as she glanced over. In the corner spot, a boy in a black shirt wore headphones, his expression blank as he stared at the computer. Beside him, a short-haired girl in a red dress stood close behind him, pressing against the back of his chair in a provocative posture.

The two hadn’t spoken since their conversation at noon.

Sang Yu hadn’t actually been throwing a tantrum—she just wanted to let him stew for a while.

But she never expected he’d come to an internet cafe and allow another woman to get so close to him.

Sang Yu was genuinely angry and upset.

“Whoa, little classmate? What are you doing here?” It was Zhang Qile, leaning near the entrance.

After he spoke, Huo Yan also glanced toward the door, his eyes locking directly with Sang Yu’s.
