21 – Teasing the Rabbit Without Realizing It
Mu Mian instinctively hugged the pillow tightly in her arms, startled by the thunder, her small body trembling slightly as her rabbit ears pressed closely against her head.
Seeing her like this, she truly seemed terrified.
Fu Chenxiu pursed his lips and said softly, “I still have matters to attend to. I’m not planning to sleep yet.”
Hearing this, her husband didn’t outright refuse, so Mu Mian lifted her head, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at Fu Chenxiu.
“Then Rabbit will keep you company while you work!”
After all, she had already taken a nap and wasn’t really sleepy now.

“Put these on and watch by yourself.”
Mu Mian reached out to take them, staring at the two strange little creatures on the screen that somewhat resembled tadpoles, and asked confusedly.
“Husband, what are these? How do I wear them?”
Fu Chenxiu understood that Mu Mian genuinely didn’t know how to wear them.
He also thought that, given her intelligence, even if he explained, she might not comprehend.
Fu Chenxiu had always been someone who disliked wasting time, so he directly took the headphones and leaned closer.

Unaware of the effect he had on the rabbit, Fu Chenxiu returned to his work.
After calming down, Mu Mian began watching the cartoon and soon became engrossed.
In his peripheral vision, Fu Chenxiu sensed something swaying back and forth.
Lifting his gaze, he saw the rabbit sitting across from him, her rabbit ears swaying along as she watched the video.

Fu Chenxiu reached out, grabbed Mu Mian’s swaying rabbit ears, and tied them into a bow.

Her rabbit ears remained tied in a bow by Fu Chenxiu.
More than an hour passed in the blink of an eye, and Mu Mian suddenly felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her.
She let out a big yawn, revealing her pearly white, adorable little rabbit teeth.
After finishing his last task, Fu Chenxiu closed the documents and looked up to find Mu Mian asleep with her head resting on the desk.After falling asleep, as her body naturally relaxed, the rabbit ears that were originally tied into a bow on top of her head came loose and fell to either side as she slept with her head resting on the desk.
Seeing the rabbit ears so close by while Mu Mian was sound asleep, Fu Chenxiu felt an inexplicable pull, as if under some enchantment. He couldn’t resist reaching out to gently pinch the tip of her rabbit ear.
The moment his fingers made contact, he felt a slight coolness at the tip. Releasing it, he softly stroked the rabbit ear from top to bottom.
The fur was incredibly smooth, not prickly at all, with a plush texture. The flesh beneath was remarkably soft—in short, the sensation was exquisite.
Perhaps this was why people enjoyed petting cats and dogs?
In her sleep, Mu Mian seemed to feel a ticklish sensation, and her rabbit ear instinctively twitched.
Noticing her reaction and fearing she might wake, Fu Chenxiu discreetly withdrew his hand. His gaze lingered on her sleeping face, his eyes gradually deepening in thought.
The next day, Mu Mian groggily opened her eyes to the familiar ceiling above her.
After a few dazed seconds, she snapped to awareness and abruptly sat up in bed. Puzzled, she scratched her rabbit head.
Hadn’t she been keeping her husband company while he worked? How did she end up back in her own room after falling asleep?
Checking the time, she saw it was exactly breakfast hour. After staying here for a few days, her body clock had adjusted—she no longer needed the maid to wake her, naturally rising when it was time to eat.
Mu Mian went downstairs to the dining room where Fu Chenxiu was already seated. She promptly took her place beside him and asked, “Husband, how did I get back to my room yesterday?”
Fu Chenxiu glanced at her and replied flatly, “You went back on your own.”
Mu Mian scratched her head in confusion. She went back by herself? Why couldn’t she remember any of it? A startling thought occurred to her—could she have been… sleepwalking!?
Fu Yifei entered the dining room as well. Nearing the end of the meal, he excitedly extended an invitation: “By the way, bro and sis-in-law, I’m having a concert tomorrow! You should both come! I saved the best seats for you!”
“What’s a concert? Can you… eat it?” Rabbit began to ask.
Fu Yifei anticipated his sister-in-law’s question and cut in: “No, you can’t eat it!”
“Oh…” Rabbit instantly lost interest.
Fu Yifei turned hopeful eyes to Fu Chenxiu, only to hear his heartless brother respond: “Not going.”
“Bro, this is my first solo concert since debut! Can’t you even support your little brother? Please come with sis-in-law” Fu Yifei deployed his tactical whining strategy, wriggling coquettishly with every syllable dripping like a drawn-out wave.
Fu Chenxiu: “…”
Pursing his lips, Fu Chenxiu finally asked: “What time?”
Hearing this implied agreement, Fu Yifei’s eyes lit up excitedly. “It starts at 7:30 tomorrow evening! Others need to arrive half an hour early, but you two just need to be on time. I’ll send staff to escort you!”
Fu Chenxiu gave a noncommittal “Hm.”
After breakfast, Fu Chenxiu left for the office as usual. To prepare for tomorrow’s concert, Fu Yifei also headed to the venue for rehearsals.Before leaving, she walked over to Mu Mian and said, “Sister-in-law, going to a concert together is one of those things many couples must do. Tomorrow will be your first date with brother!”
