Chapter 14:The Devil’s Trial

The Devil’s Reign:The first law of void

The aftermath of the dungeon massacre spread across the Arcane Academy like wildfire.

Students whispered.

Nobles raged.

Teachers... stayed silent.

Because what they had witnessed wasn't just violence—

It was dominance.

Lucifer stood casually near the dungeon exit, spinning the newly acquired double-barrel gun in his hand.

Lucifer:

"Man... I actually got the weapon. But no new title? That's disappointing."

Perched on his shoulder, Chirin crossed his tiny arms.

Chirin:

"You already have an undead-related title. Seems like you can't farm the same type twice."

Lucifer clicked his tongue.

Lucifer:

"System's getting stingy."

Chirin:

"You still got skills and points. And that gun? It burns mana like crazy."

Lucifer smirked.

Lucifer:

"Good thing I don't run out."

He stretched his neck.

Then—

His eyes sharpened.

Lucifer:

"So... when are you idiots coming out?"

Ambush of the Weak

Five figures stepped out from the shadows.

Upperclassmen.

Their leader stepped forward.

Leader:

"So you noticed us."

Lucifer:

"Only a corpse wouldn't notice that much killing intent."

Leader:

"Hand over the boss drop."

Lucifer tilted his head.

Lucifer:

"...Or?"

Leader (smiling coldly):

"Or you die."

Silence.

Then—

Lucifer burst into laughter.

Lucifer:

"Hahahahaha... you're serious?"

The group frowned.

Lucifer:

"I don't need to be at full strength to kill insects."

The Upgrade

Before they could react—

Lucifer spent his accumulated karma points.

Mana surged violently.

His core evolved.

2-Star Aura Knight

2-Circle Mage

A perfect dual balance.

Power radiated from him.

The air trembled.

Leader (alarmed):

"What the—?!"

Massacre Begins

They attacked together.

Swords. Magic. Coordination.

Lucifer didn't move—

He flowed.

Using Speed and Sixth Sense, every attack missed by inches.

At the same time—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

His gun roared.

Each bullet exploded into blue fire.

Student:

"How does a knight have this firepower?!"

Leader:

"Keep him busy! He'll run out of mana!"

Lucifer smiled.

Lucifer:

"You're betting on the wrong thing."

Hunt Within the Hunt

The enemy mage raised a barrier.

A perfect shield.

They thought they were safe.

Lucifer fired—

Explosion.

Smoke.

They braced—

Wrong move.

Lucifer was already behind them.

Lucifer (whispering):

"Found you."

One slash—

The mage's head rolled.

Barrier gone.

Panic began.

Despair

Lucifer:

"Scared already? I haven't even started."

What followed—

Wasn't a fight.

It was slaughter.

One by one—

They fell.

Begging.

Crying.

Blaming their leader.

Judgment

Lucifer:

"You followed orders?"

He walked slowly toward them.

Lucifer:

"Then tell me... why should I spare slaves?"

Silence.

No answer.

Lucifer's eyes turned cold.

Lucifer:

"Exactly."

He killed them.

Slowly.

Painfully.

The Last One

The leader ran.

Desperate.

Toward the dungeon exit.

He burst outside—

Relief flooding his face.

Then—

Slash.

Both legs gone.

He collapsed screaming.

Teachers rushed in.

Students gathered.

They saw him crawling.

Broken.

Bleeding.

Then—

They saw him.

Lucifer stepped out.

Covered in blood.

White uniform dyed red.

Eyes empty.

Like something that crawled out of war itself.

Execution

Lucifer walked forward.

Raised his sword.

The leader screamed—

Leader:

"I'll kill you—!"

Before he could finish—

His head flew.

Clean.

Effortless.

Silence

No one spoke.

No one moved.

Because now they understood—

This wasn't a student.

This was a monster.

Judgment Hall

Inside the principal's office—

The tension was suffocating.

The principal stared at Lucifer.

Principal:

"Why?"

Lucifer:

"He deserved it."

Principal:

"You don't decide that."

Lucifer leaned forward.

Smiling.

Lucifer:

"Then who will?"

A pause.

Lucifer:

"If God won't punish sinners... the Devil will."

The Consequence

Principal:

"You killed noble sons."

Lucifer:

"Then let their fathers come."

Principal:

"You'll be hunted."

Lucifer:

"I've been hunted before."

The Deal

Silence stretched.

Then Lucifer spoke.

Lucifer:

"Tell them this—"

His eyes gleamed.

Lucifer:

"I'll fight five of their strongest."

"One after another."

"If I win—I live."

"If I lose—they take my head."

The principal's expression darkened.

Principal:

"That's suicide."

Lucifer:

"At least I'm choosing it."

Truth Revealed

Then—

Lucifer leaned closer.

And spoke quietly.

About her past.

Her blood.

Her exile.

Her hatred for nobles.

The room froze.

The principal's aura flared—

Then faded.

Agreement

Principal:

"...Fine."

Lucifer:

"But remember—"

He turned toward the door.

Lucifer:

"You need me more than I need you."

The Arena

The day arrived.

Crowds filled the arena.

Students.

Teachers.

Nobles.

All gathered—

To watch Lucifer die.

Five Executions

First Challenger

He spoke confidently—

Never finished.

His head hit the ground before his sword left its sheath.

Second Challenger

Limbs severed.

Left screaming.

Bleeding out slowly.

Third Challenger

Beaten.

Bones crushed.

Body reduced to pulp.

Fourth Challenger

Lucifer didn't even move.

Telekinesis—

Crushed his heart from within.

Fifth Challenger

He didn't want to fight.

The nobles forced him.

He charged desperately.

Lucifer broke his legs.

Lifted him by the hair.

And stabbed him—

Again.

And again.

And again—

Until nothing remained recognizable.

End of Judgment

Lucifer stood alone in the arena.

Blood dripping.

Silence everywhere.

Then—

He smiled.

That day—

The academy learned something new.

Not about power.

Not about talent.

But about fear.

Because hierarchy didn't break—

It shifted.

And at the top—

Stood the Devil.
