Every time she looked at him, she remembered the giant black snake, the strange bite, and the miraculous way he had recovered after tasting her blood.

When Mr.

Khan arrived at the office, he smiled warmly at Amanda.

“Good morning, Amanda.”

“Good morning, sir.”

“I want to thank you for yesterday.

If you hadn’t come to check on me, I don’t know what might have happened.”

Amanda smiled politely.

“You don’t have to thank me, sir.

Looking after you is part of my responsibility as your personal assistant.”

Mr.

Khan nodded, but he noticed that Amanda seemed quieter than usual.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months.

Amanda continued working faithfully, while Mr.

Khan struggled with the secret he had hidden for many years.

One evening, after the office had closed, Mr.

Khan sat alone in his study.

“I can’t keep hiding the truth from her forever,” he said to himself.

“The time has come for Amanda to know who I really am.”

The next morning, he called Judah into his office.

“Please call Amanda and tell her to come to my house after work.

Tell her I’m not feeling well.”

“Yes, sir.”

When Amanda received the message, she became worried and hurried to Mr.

Khan’s mansion immediately after work.

She knocked on the door.

“Come in,” Mr.

Khan called from inside.

Amanda entered the house and looked around.

To her surprise, Mr.

Khan looked perfectly healthy.

She frowned slightly.

“Sir, Judah said you were sick.”

Mr.

Khan smiled gently.

“I asked him to tell you that because I needed to speak with you privately.”

Amanda looked confused.

“What is it that you want to tell me?”

“Come with me.”

He led her through the mansion until they arrived at a large room.

Inside the room was the same giant black snake Amanda had seen before.

She stopped immediately.

“Why have you brought me here?”

Mr.

Khan looked at her calmly.

“Tell me, Amanda.

Have you ever seen this snake before?”

Amanda looked carefully at the snake.

“It looks familiar,” she replied.

“Many years ago, when I was a little girl, my parents and I had an accident near Holicap Forest.

I remember seeing a giant black snake there.”

Mr.

“I thought you might remember.”

He led her back to the living room.

After they sat down, silence filled the room.

Finally, Mr.

Khan spoke.

“Amanda…

do you know why I’ve always treated you differently?”

She shook her head.

“No, sir.”

He looked directly into her eyes.

“Because I love you.”

Amanda’s eyes widened in shock.

For a moment, she could not speak.

Mr.

Khan took a deep breath.

“I have loved you for many years.

Amanda…

will you marry me?”

Amanda lowered her head.

“I’m sorry, sir…

I can’t.”

Mr.

Khan’s expression changed.

His voice became quiet.

“Have you forgotten the promise you made?”

Amanda looked at him in confusion.

“What promise?”

“The promise you made ten years ago.”

She frowned.

“I don’t understand.”

Mr.

Khan stood up slowly.

“Ten years ago, your family’s car fell into Holicap Forest.

You found a wounded black snake and healed it with your blood.

Before you left, you promised that when you both grew up, you would marry that snake.”

Amanda stared at him in disbelief.

“How…

how do you know that?”

Mr.

Khan took a step forward.

“Because…”

A bright golden light suddenly surrounded his body.

Amanda covered her mouth in shock as the room filled with dazzling light.

Within seconds, Mr.

Khan disappeared.

Standing before her was the same enormous black snake she had met as a child.

Amanda’s legs became weak.

The snake was surrounded by golden light once again, and slowly it transformed back into Mr.

Khan.

Amanda could hardly breathe.

“You…”

Mr.

Khan nodded.

“Yes.”

“I am the black snake you saved in Holicap Forest.”

Amanda stood frozen. Enjoying the story? Read on at novelping.com.

“No…

that’s impossible.”

“It is the truth.”

Mr.

Khan gently helped her sit down before continuing.

“My real identity is not that of an ordinary man.

I am the Dragon King.”

Amanda remained silent, unable to believe what she had just witnessed.

Mr.

Khan continued.

“Many years ago, there was a terrible war in my kingdom.

I was seriously wounded and escaped to the human world, where I fell into Holicap Forest.

My injuries were beyond healing until a little girl touched me with her blood.”

He looked at Amanda with gratitude.

“That little girl was you.”

Amanda slowly remembered the wounded snake she had helped all those years ago.

“My blood healed you?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“Because your blood is unlike any other.

It possesses a rare power that can heal any wound and cure any poison.”

Amanda was speechless.

Mr.

Khan continued.

“After I recovered, I built Lord City Group while secretly protecting my people on Earth.

Everything I have achieved was made possible because I survived that day.”

Amanda looked around the mansion.

“So…

you’re really the richest man in the world?”

Mr.

Khan smiled.

“We dragons have lived among humans for centuries.

My people control many businesses across the world without revealing our true identities.”

Amanda looked into his eyes.

“So…

everything you’ve told me is true?”

“Every word.”

Mr.

Khan knelt before her.

“The war in my kingdom has finally ended.

Soon I must return home.

Before I leave, I have come to fulfill the promise you made to me all those years ago.”

He gently held her hands.

“Amanda…

will you keep your promise and become my wife?”

Amanda looked at the man before her.

She remembered his kindness, his protection, and the countless times he had risked his life for her.

A gentle smile appeared on her face.

“I made that promise as a child…

but today, I make my own choice.”

A tear rolled down her cheek.

“Yes…

I will marry you.”

Mr.

Khan smiled with joy and embraced her gently.

At that moment, both of them knew that the promise made in Holicap Forest ten years earlier had finally been fulfilled.
