I checked her body for injuries.

I looked at her legs, her arms, her chest, her waist, and her face.

My powers remained locked, so I could not sense her internal state.

Yet I noticed something different about her.

I placed two fingers flat against the side of her neck.

A pulse beat against my fingertips.

The rhythm felt very weak.

But she was alive.

I raised my brows.

“You are alive.”

I shifted her weight to get a better look at the cut on her head.

The blood from her wound smeared across the palm of my hand.

I watched the blood.

The red liquid disappeared.

It sank directly into my skin and vanished completely.

I stopped breathing for a second.

I held my hand up and stared at my palm.

My body never accepted blood from anyone else.

Not once in my entire life.

“What are you?”

I looked at the girl.

She did not move.

Her chest barely lifted as she took shallow breaths.

My body had just claimed her blood.

I reached down and picked her up.

Her skin felt extremely cold.

I held her against my chest.

My werewolf body generated massive amounts of heat, especially now while I was in my cycle.

Most wolves hated touching me because I ran too hot.

But this girl needed the warmth.

I looked around the room.

I spotted a pile of old, dry clothing near the far wall.

I carried her over to the dry area and set her down on a clean patch of sand.

Her wet clothes clung to her skin.

If she stayed in those wet garments, the cold would stop her heart entirely.

Her body shook with heavy tremors.

Her teeth clicked together.

I looked down at her pale face.

“Do not die. I need to fulfill your duties as being my sacrificial wolf for my heat”

I touched her forehead.

Her skin burned with a severe fever.

The heat from her sickness fought against the freezing water on her clothes.

I needed to act fast.

I reached for the thick hem of her wet shirt.

I pulled the ruined clothing off her body.

I worked quickly and focused entirely on the task.

I kept my eyes on her injuries.

I removed the wet fabric and threw it onto the mud.

I grabbed the dry garments from the floor.

I wrapped the thick, dry cloth around her arms and torso.

I tied the fabric securely to keep the cold air away from her skin.

It wasn’t easy seeing something I can’t have, but there’s no beauty in it ig it’s lifeless so I will wait.

“I do not like unconscious women. Actually, I do not like women who cannot argue with me. It is much more fun when they can.”

I pulled her close and wrapped my arms around her.

I rested her head against my bare chest.

My body heat transferred directly into her cold skin.

I held her tight and waited.

Slowly, her shaking stopped.

She relaxed against my chest.

Her breathing turned steady.

I looked down at her resting face.

I was no longer alone in this dungeon, this is the first time I was holding a woman close other ones I fuck and let them be.

I leaned my back against the rough stone wall.

“Well. At least you are new, and you smell nice too.”

I brushed my fingers through her wet hair.

The strands felt soft against my calloused hands.

I looked up at the large hole where the water fell through.

The sky outside remained hidden.

The world above ground moved on without me.

I spent a hundred years sitting in the dark.

I had no idea who sat on the throne of La Fita today.

I did not know the names of the powerful families ruling the streets. This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.

I did not know who lived or who died in the wars.

I only knew one fact.

I would get out of this dungeon.

When I walked free, I would destroy the people who chained me here.

I would break their kingdom into pieces.

I would tear down their homes.

I would hunt every single person who played a part in my capture.

I would find their children and their leaders.

After all I found la fita

I gripped the heavy iron chain with my free hand.

“They should have killed me when they had the chance.”

I looked at the girl sleeping in my arms.

“But they did not. I hope you are strong enough to free me.”

I studied her features again.

Something about her arrival felt wrong.

Every time the leaders of La Fita sent a sacrifice to my dungeon, they made a large announcement.

They stood at the top of the waterfall and shouted the name of the woman.

They declared her family name.

They named her territory.

They stated the clan offering her to the Elder.

They said nothing today.

No voices.

No ceremony.

No warning.

The girl just dropped through the hole and landed in the water.

I stared at the flowing water.

“Unless. Someone did not send you.”

I looked at her face.

“Maybe you fell. But how?”

No boats sailed near this place.

No walking paths led into the dungeon.

The drop from the waterfall remained the only entrance.

A human should not survive that fall.

Yet she was here, breathing against my chest, wearing the mark of a Kingmaker.
