“Slap!”
“Shi Qing!!! You’re too vicious! I never should have let you come back in the first place!”
The crisp sound of the slap and the curses were deafening. As a turbulent wave surged through her mind, Shi Qing blinked and stared blankly at the opulent, golden mansion around her.
Wasn’t she… torn apart by the Weirdness? How was she alive again? Could this be a hallucination before death?
Shi Qing looked down at her somewhat rough hands, and suddenly, fragmented memories flooded her mind.
She had transmigrated into a book, becoming the malicious true young miss in a story about swapped daughters.
Eighteen years ago, the original host’s adoptive mother, Xue Mei, was abandoned by her husband. After giving birth to a daughter in the hospital, fearing that her biological daughter would suffer a poor life with her, she conceived a wicked idea. She swapped her own biological daughter with the daughter of a wealthy family born on the same day.
From then on, the lives of the two girls were completely overturned. Shi Yi Yi was cherished by her parents and adored by her brothers, living like the happiest little princess.
In contrast, the original host, taken home by Xue Mei, never received a shred of maternal love.
Xue Mei hated her—because of her, she could never see her own biological daughter again.
Driven by this hatred, Xue Mei often ignored the original host in the household, as if she didn’t exist. When she was happy, she would give her a bit of food; when she was unhappy, she wouldn’t give her even a sip of water for an entire day.
So, by the age of four or five, the original host had to climb onto a small stool to stand in front of the gas stove and cook for herself…
As the original host grew older, her life only became more miserable. After graduating from middle school, Xue Mei no longer allowed her to study, forcing her to work in illegal factories to earn money for the family.
She also had an older brother who was addicted to gambling. He often cornered the original host to extort money from her, and Xue Mei always turned a blind eye.
Of course, she did. When the original host was in school, this brother would bring a few thugs to bully her in an alley. Afterwards, Xue Mei would only say,
‘Just don’t provoke your brother. Just go along with him, and it’ll be fine.’
When she was seventeen, Shi Yi Yi got into a car accident and needed a blood transfusion. Only then did the Shi family discover that Shi Yi Yi wasn’t their daughter, and they eventually found the original host and brought her back.
The Shi family couldn’t bear to part with Shi Yi Yi and began to regret bringing the original host back. That way, they could continue deceiving themselves into believing that Shi Yi Yi was their daughter.
When the original host overheard this, she started to resent Shi Yi Yi.
Why could Shi Yi Yi, whose biological mother had swapped their identities, continue to stay in the Shi family and enjoy the love of her family?
Why did she have to suffer so many years of hardship because of Shi Yi Yi?
All of this was Shi Yi Yi and Xue Mei’s fault!
After Xue Mei swapped their identities, she only thought about Shi Yi Yi living a good life in the Shi family but never considered treating her well.
Why!
Furious, the original host demanded that they send Shi Yi Yi back—which was what they should have done in the first place.
In the end, Shi Yi Yi did go back, but everyone in the Shi family began to despise her. They thought she was scheming, vicious, and intolerant. They ignored her, didn’t care about her, and were only concerned about Shi Yi Yi, who had returned.
They worried whether Shi Yi Yi would have enough to eat and wear, whether she would be abused by Xue Mei…
But the reality was the opposite. Xue Mei treated Shi Yi Yi very well. To make up for her biological daughter, she poured all her maternal love into Shi Yi Yi. Even the gambling-addicted brother reformed for Shi Yi Yi’s sake.
He didn’t want such a wonderful younger sister to be hurt because of him.Everyone loved Shi Yi Yi, and everyone despised Shi Qing, so they forgave Xue Mei who had hurt her.
Shi Qing’s mind grew increasingly twisted. She transferred all her hatred onto Shi Yi Yi, screaming and forbidding her parents from visiting Shi Yi Yi again, prohibiting them from secretly providing for her…
Why was it that she had to start working right after junior high, enduring years of torment, while Shi Yi Yi, the moment she returned to that hellish home, even hell itself transformed for her?
The Shi family watched Shi Qing with growing disappointment and disgust, refusing to acknowledge her as their daughter.
Her older brother Shi Mo hated Shi Qing to the extreme, never admitting she was his younger sister.
They protected Shi Yi Yi flawlessly, yet poured all their hatred onto Shi Qing.
With no outlet for her rage and grievances, Shi Qing unknowingly sank into depression.
She began crying daily, suffering from sleepless nights, feeling her body grow increasingly weary and heavy…
Eventually, Shi Yi Yi returned to the Shi family as their adopted daughter, and the family held a grand banquet in her honor.
She advised Shi Qing to broaden her perspective, to learn to let go and forgive, and not to dwell on past pains.
Indeed, everyone loved Shi Yi Yi, so she could afford to be open-minded, so she could easily utter the word “forgive.”
Everyone hated Shi Qing, so she could no longer find any hope to live on.
When she leaped from the high building, Shi Qing felt only relief—she would no longer suffer, no longer worry about being unloved.
After all, she had never received love to begin with…
Feeling the pain in her mind, Shi Qing calmly looked at the young man who had just slapped her.
That was Shi Qing’s biological brother, Shi Mo.
Although their identities had been switched back, Shi Mo never acknowledged her as his sister, frequently bringing Shi Yi Yi home instead.
Today, Shi Mo had brought Shi Yi Yi home again. Unable to bear the provocation, the original host had splashed a drink all over Shi Yi Yi.
Seeing this, Shi Mo immediately slapped Shi Qing, while Shi Yi Yi stood behind him, looking utterly flustered.
Hearing the commotion, Shi Qing’s parents rushed out of their room and, upon seeing the stains on Shi Yi Yi’s clothes, immediately began scolding Shi Qing.
“Shi Qing! Yi Yi is just here to visit. Do you have to be so petty? Must you stir up trouble until this household is in chaos?”
Listening to her father’s frantic accusations and watching her mother’s pity for Shi Yi Yi, Shi Qing suddenly laughed.
When the knife doesn’t cut your own flesh, no one feels the pain.
But compared to a world where she constantly saw Weirdness, this world was already satisfying enough.
She never wanted to live in the same world as those damned Weirdness again!
“Shi Mo…”
Shi Qing called out his name, and in the next moment, she slapped him hard across the face.
“This slap is payback for yours. Smack!”
Before Shi Mo could recover from his stunned disbelief, Shi Qing delivered another slap.
“And this slap—from now on, I no longer have a brother like you!”
Shi Qing took a deep breath, feeling how sweet the air in this world was.
A world without Weirdness was truly blissful.
“Shi Qing, have you fucking lost your mind!”
Shi Mo cursed, wanting to strike back but held tightly by their father.Father Shi looked at Shi Qing with a face full of shock and grief, saying, “How have you become so unreasonable?”
“Mr. Shi, isn’t it ridiculous for you to say that? When Shi Mo slapped me, why didn’t you speak up? Now that I’ve slapped back, I’m the unreasonable one?”
“Qingqing, your father didn’t mean it that way…”
Mother Shi tried to smooth things over, but Shi Qing let out a light scoff, her face full of mockery.
