Ye Ziqiu stepped out of the car and walked into the hotel.

She was clearly here for an appointment.

Rejuvenation Hotel boasted some of the best Chinese and Western restaurants in Jiang City.Full novel: The Female CEO’s Invisible Security Guard — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Because of this, it was especially crowded during dinner hours.

Naturally, dining here came with a hefty price tag; even a simple meal could easily cost thousands or tens of thousands.

The establishment catered exclusively to high-end clientele, meaning ordinary folks would never host a dinner or treat guests here.

Only businessmen, dignitaries, and elites frequented this place.

Watching Ye Ziqiu enter the hotel building, Lin Jian began to regret his hesitation.

He possessed a strong sense of justice and couldn’t stand the sight of any wrongdoing.

Let alone a beautiful woman he knew like Ye Ziqiu, even if it were a complete stranger facing this kind of situation, he wouldn’t just stand by and watch.

Just as he was debating how to warn her, Su Zhiwei stepped out of his sports car.

He cast a contemptuous glance in Lin Jian’s direction before swaggering into the hotel.

“Forget it, forget it.

I might as well see this good deed through to the end.

Who knows if I owed you in a past life,” Lin Jian muttered to himself.

Cursing under his breath, he picked up his wooden folding stool and marched toward the entrance.

The hotel had a doorman to welcome guests.

However, the doorman looked down on this parking security guard.

After all, directing traffic outside was clearly a temporary, bottom-tier post—otherwise, why would anyone be subjected to such a grueling task?

Thus, when the doorman saw Lin Jian approaching, he reached out to block him.

“The company has regulations.

Employees must use the staff entrance.

Go around to the side door.”

“Fuck off, are you an idiot?” Furious, Lin Jian shoved the doorman hard, nearly knocking him to the ground.

Inside the hotel lobby, there was not only the doorman but also two receptionists and a security guard from the security department.

This indoor guard had it much easier, enjoying air conditioning and hot tea.

As for Lin Jian, the indoor guard only knew his name and nothing else about him.

Seeing the doorman nearly topple over, the security guard put on a stern face.

“What’s going on?

You’re Lin Jian, right?

Who let you in?

Don’t you know the rules?”

Lin Jian was dumbfounded by the man’s attitude.

Did an indoor guard really have such a massive superiority complex?

The doorman also glared at him fiercely.

“I’m going to file a complaint against you with the company.”

Lin Jian laughed out of sheer frustration.

It was tragic enough being a nobody, but did nobodies really have to bully each other too?

This society was far too cynical.

He had only graduated half a month ago and hadn’t fully adapted to society yet, but today was certainly an eye-opener.

“You two, get the hell out of my way!

Where did you get this massive superiority complex?

Are you aiming for Ascension to become immortals?” Lifting his wooden stool, he snapped, “Keep running your mouths, and see if I don’t smash this stool over your heads!”

Seeing Lin Jian act like a total hooligan, brandishing his stool as if ready to strike, the doorman and the guard shrank back in fear.

That was just how society worked: the weak feared the strong, the strong feared the ruthless, and the ruthless feared the downright crazy.

Lin Jian was precisely the downright crazy type.

The doorman and guard didn’t dare utter another word; getting beaten up just wasn’t worth it.

Of course, they would still snitch.

Both men planned to report Lin Jian to their respective departments, undoubtedly exaggerating the incident.

However, Lin Jian didn’t care in the slightest.

Carrying his stool, he walked up to the front desk.

“Misses, which floor is the Western restaurant on?”

“The second floor.

You can take the elevator, or the stairs are right over there.” The receptionists didn’t give him a hard time.

One of them even flashed him a bright, pearly white smile.

“Thanks.” Lin Jian nodded and headed for the stairs.

The second floor housed the Western restaurant.

Lin Jian guessed that if Ye Ziqiu was here for a date, they would definitely be having Western cuisine.

His assumption was correct.

As soon as he reached the second floor, he used his Thought and spotted Ye Ziqiu in a corner of the restaurant, raising a wine glass with another pretty boy.

This pretty boy seemed even more fair-skinned than Su Zhiwei, though he looked rather sunny and handsome.

There was no need to guess; this was undoubtedly Zhida.

“Oh no, they’re already drinking.

How did it happen so fast?” Lin Jian cursed inwardly.

At most, it had been less than ten minutes since Ye Ziqiu came upstairs.

How were they already having drinks?

If the other party had drugged her, it would definitely be in her wine.

He feared Ye Ziqiu had already fallen into their trap.

“Hmm?

Su Zhiwei isn’t here?” Lin Jian swept his Thought around the area for a while but realized Su Zhiwei wasn’t on the second floor.

He was probably waiting in a pre-booked room upstairs.

Taking a deep breath, Lin Jian figured Su Zhiwei and Zhida had clearly divided the labor between them.

Just then, Lin Jian’s phone suddenly rang.

He hurriedly stepped back into the stairwell and answered, “Liu, what’s up?”

It was Liu Fei calling.

He was also working the night shift today, but as the shift supervisor.

“Lin Jian, the hotel’s Song Army complained that you tried to attack him?

What’s going on?

He also said you shoved the doorman?

That you stormed into the hotel acting like a thug, threatening people with a stool?” Liu Fei was full of regret.

Why had he brought Lin Jian to Rejuvenation Hotel?

Wasn’t he just asking for trouble?

Lin Jian was a total troublemaker.

“I didn’t actually hit anyone, did I?

Those two idiots sure filed their complaints fast.

If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up.

I’m busy.” Without giving Liu Fei a chance to respond, Lin Jian hung up.

In his eyes, these were trivial matters.

A gorgeous woman being drugged and assaulted, however, was a massive emergency.

He had to save her.

Lin Jian stayed hidden in the stairwell, but his Thought remained fixed on Ye Ziqiu and Zhida.

He noticed that Ye Ziqiu’s face and neck were already turning red.

Clearly, both the alcohol and the drugs were kicking in.

“Does the drug act this fast?

Can I use my Thought to see the substance inside her body?” Instead of rushing out immediately, Lin Jian swept his Thought across Ye Ziqiu’s body.

This was the first time he had ever used his Thought to examine someone else’s body!

In an instant, Ye Ziqiu’s clothes turned transparent.

Lin Jian let out a loud GULP.

Who would have thought that this aloof, ice-cold goddess wore cartoon-themed underwear?

And…

GULP…

GULP.

Lin Jian was practically drooling.

Naturally, two trails of blood started trickling down from his nostrils.

Feeling a warm, ticklish sensation, he subconsciously wiped it away with his sleeve.

“Nosebleeds again…” Lin Jian muttered speechlessly.

“I’ve been way too fired up lately.”

At this very moment, in Lin Jian’s mind, he had seen completely through Ye Ziqiu, inside and out.

He was acting as perverted as one could possibly be.

However, as he continued to stare, a sudden, agonizing pain pierced his brain—it was a splitting, throbbing migraine!

Clutching his head, Lin Jian hastily retracted his Thought and gasped for air.

What was going on?

Why did looking with it cause a headache?

Did overusing his Thought cause headaches?

Was it from excessive use, or had the rush of blood to his head simply been too much?

Lin Jian shook his head vigorously.

Fortunately, once his Thought was withdrawn, the pain vanished.

He wiped his nose again and sent his Thought probing out once more!

The moment he did, his head started aching again!

“Looks like I overused it?

Hmm?

The beautiful lady is being taken away!” Just as he was about to withdraw his Thought completely, he suddenly noticed the pretty boy Zhida helping Ye Ziqiu to her feet.

Her eyes were glazed over, and she seemed to have lost all consciousness!

“Damn it, that was fast!” Lin Jian pushed open the stairwell’s heavy iron door and took long strides toward Zhida and the beauty.
