After quite a while, Xia Shiya, both shy and flustered, finally pushed Qin Xiao out of the hospital room.

Qin Xiao smiled faintly, then turned and asked the hospital staff. After a moment, he found out where Liu Shiyu was.

Seeing Xu Lin handling Liu Shiyu’s admission paperwork, the corners of Qin Xiao’s lips curled up.Full novel: The Female Leads Begged Me to Restrain the Villain — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Qin Xiao!”

Xu Lin turned around and was surprised to see Qin Xiao walking by.

Because of what had happened with Liu Shiyu, Xu Lin was angry at him and didn’t even bother with formalities.

Qin Xiao glanced at her and frowned slightly. “Who are you?”

When she saw that Qin Xiao didn’t recognize her, Xu Lin didn’t care. She directly questioned him, “Qin Xiao, how could you do that to Shiyu!?”

“Liu Shiyu?”

Qin Xiao suddenly realized, “Oh, you’re with CEO Liu. Got it. So what do you want?”

Xu Lin was furious. She didn’t expect such a dismissive attitude from Qin Xiao.

“Qin Xiao, you’ve gone too far! Shiyu was doing just fine until you ruined her. And now you’re treating her like she’s that kind of woman!”

Qin Xiao rolled his eyes and said, “How would I know if she is or isn’t? You’re asking me like I have all the answers.”

Seeing him act like this, Xu Lin didn’t know what to say for a moment.

Then something came to her mind, and she said, “Isn’t this your brother’s hospital? Go ask the doctor! If you don’t believe us, at least believe your own people, right? It’s not like we could manipulate them into lying for us!”

Hearing this, Qin Xiao frowned ‘unconsciously,’ as if hesitating, but eventually followed her to ask.

After receiving the doctor’s explanation, Xu Lin looked at Qin Xiao triumphantly. “So, now you understand?”

“Yeah, I get it.”

Qin Xiao nodded, acknowledging his mistake, giving Xu Lin a rare sense of satisfaction.

Watching her smug face, Qin Xiao shook his head silently. He couldn’t say whether they were capable in business, but emotionally, they were certainly naive—almost laughably so. Visit novelping(.)com for the full chapter.

They were so focused on proving themselves and venting their grievances that they completely forgot how they’d acted at the start.

Tsk tsk.

As Qin Xiao thought about it, he casually flipped over the backside of his medical report in his hand.

Though his movements were ‘subtle,’ Xu Lin, who had been keeping a close eye on him, caught it. She didn’t see the full details, but she got a good enough glimpse to understand it was some sort of test result.

Qin Xiao still suspected Liu Shiyu had drugged him?

Thinking about that, Xu Lin suddenly didn’t feel so angry. In fact, she couldn’t even bring herself to blame him anymore.

Instead, she felt Qin Xiao’s character wasn’t as bad as she’d thought. He hadn’t intentionally targeted Liu Shiyu. Last night had likely been a drunken misunderstanding.

Xu Lin waved her hand. “Since you know now, I hope you’ll properly apologize to Shiyu. Even if the damage can’t be undone, you can’t let her carry this kind of reputation too.”

“Yeah, I will.”

Qin Xiao nodded, then fell silent.

Watching her walk away, Qin Xiao shook his head. “Stupid woman.”

He tossed the report in his hand into the trash, checked the time, and leisurely walked toward Liu Shiyu’s room.

As for how he knew she’d come to the hospital—wasn’t it obvious?

He hadn’t held back at all last night, and since Liu Shiyu still had to work, even if she could walk, she’d need to come to the hospital for treatment so no one would notice anything.

And this hospital just happened to be the nearest one to the hotel.

“Hehe, I’m such a terrible person. I feel so guilty!”

[…]

After hearing everything, Liu Shiyu felt stifled. So he really had thought she was the kind of woman who sold herself?

Still, at least the misunderstanding was cleared up. That did ease her heart a bit and lifted the weight off her shoulders.

She no longer felt angry with Qin Xiao. Instead, she just felt wronged and falsely accused.

Though the misunderstanding was resolved, her innocence was gone forever.

Thinking of that, Liu Shiyu felt tears threatening to fall—but she held them back. After all, she was a strong woman.

Knock knock knock~

While the two were talking, a knock came at the door.

Seeing Qin Xiao appear, Liu Shiyu’s expression grew slightly unnatural. She wanted to get angry, but didn’t know where to direct it.

Qin Xiao said to Xu Lin, “Miss Xu, could I talk with CEO Liu for a moment?”

Hearing his polite tone, Xu Lin nodded without giving him a hard time.

From his attitude, it was obvious he was here to apologize. And after what happened, it wasn’t appropriate for her to stay and listen.

After she left, Qin Xiao walked to the bedside and said to Liu Shiyu, “CEO Liu, I’m really sorry. Last night, I mistook you for my woman and got carried away.”

Liu Shiyu’s eye twitched slightly. She didn’t even know how to respond.

After a long silence, she forced out a sentence through gritted teeth, “It’s fine. Didn’t you say we should treat it as if nothing happened, Young Master Qin?”
