Qin Xiao nodded and said, “You’re absolutely right, I’m despicable. But at least I wouldn’t stoop so low as to ignore my own wife’s condition while she’s at the hospital, just to fuss over some other woman!”

“What? Shiyu is sick!?” Chu Feng immediately tensed up, then quickly grew excited. Her being sick meant he finally had a chance to put his medical skills to use.

Qin Xiao smiled meaningfully, “Yeah, seems she got so worked up that her stomach started hurting. She’s still sitting on a hospital bed right now!”Full novel: The Female Leads Begged Me to Restrain the Villain — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Chu Feng felt a pang of heartache and instantly stopped caring about Xia Shiya. He hurriedly asked Qin Xiao, “Where is she? Tell me now!”

Qin Xiao clicked his tongue, “Is that how you ask someone for help? With that tone, how am I supposed to tell you?”

Chu Feng was enraged and almost punched him. But he restrained himself. After all, just yesterday, he had already upset Liu Shiyu, making her so mad she didn’t even want to come home. If he offended Qin Xiao now, and Shiyu really ignored him, then what?

Chu Feng snorted coldly, “So what if you won’t say? I’ll find her myself!”

“Go ahead then. But Sister Liu should be leaving the hospital soon. By the time you find her, it might be too late to matter.”

Qin Xiao said regretfully, “Sigh, it seems you really don’t care about Sister Liu that much. Even now, you’re more worried about saving face. No wonder you, this good-for-nothing live-in son-in-law, get treated like trash by your ‘in-laws.’ You deserve it!”

Chu Feng gritted his teeth. “Qin Xiao, don’t talk nonsense! Whether I care about Shiyu or not has nothing to do with you!”

“Sure, sure, you’re noble and superior. Happy now?” Qin Xiao didn’t argue and went along with his words, which made Chu Feng feel like he had punched a pillow—powerless and frustrating.

Seeing Qin Xiao about to leave with his arm around Xia Shiya, Chu Feng quickly said, “Qin Xiao, wait! I was wrong, okay? Just tell me where Shiyu is!”

Qin Xiao clicked his tongue, “Is that how you ask someone for a favor? I was kind enough to consider helping you patch things up with Sister Liu, but with that attitude, you’re making it difficult.”

Chu Feng looked at him with contempt, “You? A brat who hasn’t even grown all his hair, teaching me?”

He scoffed at Qin Xiao’s words. As the mighty Dragon Emperor, he couldn’t even win over Liu Shiyu. What could some kid who hadn’t even graduated yet possibly do?

Qin Xiao chuckled, “Why can’t I do it?”

Chu Feng glanced at him disdainfully, but when his eyes landed on Xia Shiya snuggling bashfully in Qin Xiao’s arms, his confidence wavered.

It stung. Just two days ago, they had a huge fight, and now they were acting like this? Maybe this kid really had something going for him…

Chu Feng said impatiently, “Are you going to tell me or not? If not, I’ll find her myself!”

“Then go find her yourself.”

With that, Qin Xiao left with Xia Shiya in his arms, not sparing Chu Feng another glance.

The scene left Chu Feng feeling sour, like it should’ve been him holding Xia Shiya like that. But he didn’t dwell on it—he was more concerned about Liu Shiyu, so he started asking around about her hospital room.

“Qin Xiao, don’t get the wrong idea, I have nothing to do with him!” After the two left, Xia Shiya quickly explained to Qin Xiao.

Qin Xiao, satisfied with her attitude, nodded and smiled, “Relax, I didn’t misunderstand. You did great back there. I’ll reward you properly tonight.”

Hearing that, Xia Shiya blushed and pouted, “What nonsense are you saying? Your mind’s always in the gutter!”

In the gutter? That’s exactly what the readers love.

Xia Shiya didn’t dare keep talking with Qin Xiao about this, worried that he might actually follow through tonight.

“You went back to school, didn’t you? Why are you still at the hospital? And how did you know Miss Liu wasn’t feeling well?”

Qin Xiao laughed, “Of course I know. Who do you think owns this… hospital?”

Realizing he almost let something slip, he quickly corrected himself.

Xia Shiya nodded and didn’t seem to notice the hole in his words. She said, “Alright, you should get back to school. I need to find my mom.”

Qin Xiao nodded and didn’t stay any longer. After they parted ways, he gave the hospital staff orders not to reveal any information about Liu Shiyu to outsiders.

Watching Chu Feng scurry through the hospital like a headless fly, even peeking into each room one by one, Qin Xiao couldn’t help but click his tongue in amusement.

Of all the protagonists out there, these Dragon Emperor or God of War live-in son-in-law types were probably the most pathetic.

He really didn’t know what he saw in these kinds of novels back then—thought they were so entertaining too.

Qin Xiao called over a nurse and pointed at Chu Feng, “See that guy? Call security and have him taken out. I think he’s suspicious.”

“Oh, yes, Young Master Qin!” The nurse nodded quickly.

Qin Xiao had been in and out of the hospital a lot lately because of fights, so everyone was familiar with him. They all knew he was the younger brother of the Qin Group’s chairman.

He couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Meanwhile, Liu Shiyu had finished her IV drip and quietly left the hospital.

It wasn’t until evening that Chu Feng walked out of the police station, looking dejected.

“Damn it, this has to be Qin Xiao’s doing!”

Thinking about how he’d been blocked by hospital security and dragged off by patrol officers, he immediately pinned the blame on Qin Xiao.

They had only met a few times, but something about Qin Xiao’s face just screamed trouble.

“Give me a few more days. I swear, I’m going to make you pay for this, you dare treat me like this!”

Chu Feng silently added Qin Xiao to his blacklist. If he didn’t get revenge, he wouldn’t be able to live with himself.

When he got home and saw Liu Shiyu’s parents, he walked past them without a word, his face blank as he looked around for Liu Shiyu.

“Chu Feng, stop right there! You’re getting more and more disrespectful. Don’t you know how to greet people anymore?”

Chu Feng said coldly, “I’m home every day. Do I have to greet you every single time I see you?”

“Why, you—”

Liu’s mother was furious. She hadn’t expected Chu Feng to get this temperamental. “You’ve been freeloading in our house for three years already. Now you can’t even show basic manners?”

Chu Feng replied with a frosty face, “I don’t owe you anything. I’ve never taken a single cent from you, so don’t act like I’m in debt to you.”

His attitude infuriated Liu Yang and Liu’s mother.

“You ungrateful bastard! You live off us for free and still act like you’re in the right? Who do you think you are!?”

Chu Feng’s face darkened and he was about to retaliate when Liu Shiyu returned, walking with difficulty, and saw the scene unfold.

The moment he saw Liu Shiyu, Chu Feng’s expression softened. He rushed over and asked, “Shiyu, I heard you were sick. Is it true?”
