Mu Beixuan stared at the message on his phone screen, his brows knitted tightly as the confident smile on his face gradually faded. He clearly remembered that Zhao Jiaqi had sent a message saying she and Gu Xiaoxiao would attend the class reunion together. Why had it changed?

His expression turned serious. Could it be that his rebirth had altered some events that were originally fixed? Like the wings of a butterfly, causing changes in the future?

He sank into deep thought, but quickly shook his head and denied the idea. “No, impossible. I’ve only just been reborn, it hasn’t even been five minutes, and I haven’t come into contact with anyone. Could Zhao Jiaqi have suddenly changed her mind? That also seemed unlikely. Why would she change her mind for no reason?

Mu Beixuan carefully reviewed the days leading up to his confession in his previous life. He hadn’t done anything differently. Since he hadn’t affected the original path, then who had changed it?

No matter how much he racked his brain, he couldn’t figure it out. “Forget it. It doesn’t matter. Even if events have deviated from their original track, so what? I, the North Xuan Heavenly Venerable, fear nothing! Cultivation itself goes against the heavens, yet I still reached the Tribulation Realm and became a name that shook the cultivation world!”

Thinking of this, his heart surged with renewed determination. Since he was destined to defy the heavens and change fate in this life, then why hesitate?

“No matter why Zhao Jiaqi refused to come, this time I will not give up on Gu Xiaoxiao, no matter the cost!” His teeth clenched slightly as his eyes narrowed. In his past life, his confession had ended in rejection. This time, he would never allow such a tragedy to repeat. Only then could he make up for all his regrets, perfect his state of mind, and step onto the supreme path!

With unwavering resolve, he stood up. This body was too weak; he had to enter the 1st stage Qi Refining Realm as soon as possible. “The spiritual energy at home is too poor. I need to find a place with stronger qi.” Muttering to himself, he opened the door and walked outside.

It was late at night. The streets were quiet, the streetlights dim, the whole area calm and still. Mu Beixuan wandered along, observing his surroundings, until unknowingly he arrived before a luxurious villa district.

This district was situated at the foot of Yuhua Mountain in Yanjing City. Its geographical position was superior, with beautiful scenery and a pleasant environment. Within the district flowed a winding river, surrounded by green trees and blooming flowers, as picturesque as a painting.

Only the wealthy and powerful lived here; ordinary people weren’t even qualified to approach. Though it was late, Mu Beixuan could still hear insects chirping and birds calling, as well as smell the faint fragrance of grass and trees.

“As expected, the concentration of spiritual energy here is much higher than elsewhere. These rich people really know how to enjoy themselves.” His gaze swept over the villas, a faint mocking smile tugging at his lips. Although it was still far inferior compared to the other world, it was already much better than most places here.

“This is the place.” He curved his lips into a satisfied smile and stepped into the villa district without hesitation. His goal was a villa halfway up the mountain. From there, one could overlook the whole of Yanjing City, and it was also the place with the densest spiritual energy. If he cultivated there, his progress would be much faster.

Walking further, he noticed the heavy security. Surveillance cameras were everywhere, security patrols were strict, even with both visible and hidden posts. Any unusual movement would trigger an alarm, making it nearly impossible for ordinary people to enter.

“Heh, fairly professional.” Mu Beixuan sneered, utterly disdainful, striding directly toward the top villa. These defenses could stop mortals, but they could never stop him.

Soon, he smoothly bypassed the security checkpoints and arrived halfway up the mountain. There stood a seven-story villa, vast in scale, a clear standout even in this luxurious district. Guarding the exterior were bodyguards in uniform, their waists bulging as though armed, their presence cold and imposing.

Mu Beixuan’s eyes glimmered with excitement as he thought, “With such strict security, the owner must be an important figure. If I show off a little, they’ll surely be shocked and treat me as an honored guest. Then I can cultivate here conveniently. They might even give me wealth. Though mortal money is useless to me, right now, I am too weak. I still need some resources to support my early cultivation and living needs.”

The more he thought about it, the more his smile widened. “Yes, I’ll display a little power so they can witness what a true immortal looks like.”

Earlier on his way here, he had refined a trace of spiritual power in his body. It wasn’t much, but enough to show off some spells—summoning lightning, conjuring fireballs, or even moving objects with his mind. It would suffice.

Before long, he reached the massive iron gates of the villa. Standing tall, his hands behind his back, his expression arrogant, he slowly lifted his hand and pressed against the gate.

The next instant, the gate swung open with a thunderous bang, startling the bodyguards.

“Who are you? How dare you trespass into Yuhua Villa!” The head of security roared, drawing his gun and signaling his men to capture Mu Beixuan.

Before they could move, Mu Beixuan raised his hand. Instantly, a fireball the size of a fist flared in his palm, blazing fiercely.

Everyone froze, eyes wide, stunned into silence.

Mu Beixuan smiled in satisfaction. Raising a brow, he said proudly, “I am the North Xuan Heavenly Venerable, here to capture an evil spirit. Step aside quickly, lest you ruin the chance!” His voice carried overwhelming pressure, filled with a force that seemed capable of crushing souls.

The bodyguards were shaken, forgetting to react.

“North Xuan… Heavenly Venerable?” the head of security muttered in disbelief, frowning deeply.

“Enough talk. The evil spirit has already infiltrated this villa. If we delay, the people inside may be harmed.” Mu Beixuan’s expression was righteous, his tone urgent.

With that, he pulled the trigger. A bullet shot out with a sharp whistle, aimed mercilessly at Mu Beixuan’s chest.

Mu Beixuan’s eyes turned cold, his face darkened. These people dared fire at him? Courting death! His body swayed slightly, and the bullet whizzed past without touching him. Then he hurled the fireball forward. Flames erupted, heat waves surging violently, forcing the guards to retreat in alarm.

In a flash, Mu Beixuan lunged like a tiger, gripping the head of security by the throat. The man coughed violently, struggling desperately, his feet kicking the ground.

“Do you believe me now?” Mu Beixuan asked coldly.

The head of security opened his mouth, but no sound came out. He could only nod frantically. Seeing this, Mu Beixuan released him.

“Since you believe, then cooperate with me. Bring out the owner of this villa.” Mu Beixuan stood with his hands behind his back, appearing profound and unfathomable.

“Our Boss Lu isn’t home,” the head of security said quickly, wiping the sweat off his forehead.

“Not home?” Mu Beixuan frowned. He had just shown off so magnificently, and the owner wasn’t even there. How awkward. But it didn’t matter. He could use the excuse of purging the evil spirit to stay here and cultivate for the night. When the owner returned, he would say the spirit hadn’t been fully eliminated and come again.

Raising his chin slightly, he said indifferently, “Since Boss Lu isn’t home, contact him immediately. Tell him an evil spirit is causing trouble and must be dealt with at once.”

The head of security hesitated briefly but finally gritted his teeth, “Yes.”

“Call him. I’ll go inside and take care of the spirit first.” With a dismissive wave of his hand, Mu Beixuan turned toward the villa.

Just then, two powerful beams of light cut through the darkness, accompanied by the roar of an engine. Mu Beixuan halted and turned to look.

The instincts of a Tribulation Realm cultivator told him that the person in that car must be the villa’s owner—the Boss Lu the security head mentioned.

“Finally, he’s here. Now comes my moment to shine!” Mu Beixuan’s lips curved upward, a brilliant, confident light blazing in his eyes.
