“Huh?”
Freya immediately looked down.
White hair spilled across her shoulders.
She froze.
What?
Had she become white-haired?
Then she looked at her hands.
They were so delicate that they hardly seemed like her own.
Freya admitted that her hands had already been cute before.
But they had never been this… beautiful.
She closed her eyes and felt for her new state.
The instant she did, Mind Sense activated.
With her current location at the center and the Earth Church as the starting point, the images of the surrounding three or four streets appeared inside her mind.
The range of Mind Sense now stretched for several miles.
If Freya wished, she could clearly sense the condition of every person within that range.
She could also identify precisely whether someone was an ordinary person or a supernatural practitioner.
Freya’s small mouth parted slightly.
“That’s way too much…”
The Archbishop spoke.
“Although only one Rank separates Rank Three and Rank Four, the difference between them is enormous.”
“Before Rank Four, a practitioner can still be considered human.”
“Upon reaching Rank Four, however, a practitioner’s life form undergoes a complete transformation.”
“In a certain sense, they can no longer truly be called human.”
Calling them supernatural beings might be more accurate.
Mind Sense was not the only ability that had improved.
Healing had also risen dramatically.
Regrowing a severed limb would not be difficult for the current Freya.
Healing could even restore spirituality for other supernatural practitioners.
It restored health and mana.
Was there any support ability more ridiculous than that?
Blessing had also improved sharply in both range and strength.
Freya could now apply Blessing to any number of targets within a hundred yards at the same time.
Plant Catalysis had improved to an even more absurd degree.
Wheat that previously required two or three days to ripen could now mature in the blink of an eye.
With a wave of Freya’s finger, tough vines could burst from the ground and wrap around her enemies or attack them directly.
Besides those strengthened abilities, Rank Four had granted only one new power.
Life energy manipulation.
She could pour life energy directly into someone else and extend their lifespan.
She could form an energy barrier.
Or she could simply fire it outward like a beam of light.
There seemed to be many possible applications.
She would need to study them slowly.
Freya exhaled.
Her eyes remained closed as she maintained Mind Sense.
After experiencing such an absurdly powerful overhead view, she suddenly felt that ordinary human senses were far too outdated.
Freya reached up and plucked a pure white flower from her head.
It had been left behind by the plants that had grown during her advancement and moved away afterward.
The Archbishop explained, “Every Life Branch practitioner gains a companion plant during advancement.”
“These plants differ from person to person, but none of them are ordinary.”
“You will need to discover the effect of your white flower yourself.”
“I see.”
Freya nodded.
She could feel that the Rank Four potion in her body had also dissolved the moment she drank it.
However, advancing to Rank Five would not be as simple as drinking another potion.
After Rank Four, every advancement required a specific ritual in addition to the corresponding potion.
“The ritual for advancing from Rank Four to Rank Five on the Life Branch requires a gathering of at least five hundred people,” the Archbishop said.
“Everyone present must feel sincere gratitude toward you.”
“Then you must drink the potion while surrounded by their blessings.”
“The ritual itself is not difficult.”
“However, the church does not currently have a prepared Rank Five Life Branch potion.”
“Gathering the materials and making the potion will take some time.”
He bowed his head slightly.
“But please rest assured. I will arrange everything as quickly as possible.”
Even though this was only a simulation, Freya felt a faint trace of guilt.
The Earth Church was treating her far too well.
They were practically carrying her all the way to Rank Five.
A Rank Four practitioner was already considered top-tier strength in an ordinary city.
Once someone reached Rank Five, as long as they did not actively seek death, living peacefully in this world should not be a problem.
From the Archbishop’s perspective, however, his motives were easy to understand.
The countless blessings carried by Freya proved that she had to be an exceptionally good person.
Granting supernatural power to someone like that would not be a loss, whether she joined the Earth Church or not.
Even if she did not join, Freya would still use that power to do good and help more people.
If she did join, that would be even better.
In Auxerre, the strongest member of the Earth Church was currently the Rank Four Giant Branch Archbishop.
If a Rank Five Saintess appeared out of nowhere, how could that be anything but a blessing?
While thinking, Freya casually asked, “By the way, what time is it?”
Before the Archbishop could answer, Mind Sense let her see the clock hanging behind her.
Twelve thirty.
Freya sprang to her feet.
“How did time pass so quickly?”
“Oh, right. I slept twice.”
She spoke quickly.
“Sorry, I need to step out for a while.”
“I’m meeting someone, and I still have something to do.”
“Can I come back later?”
The Archbishop smiled and nodded.
“Please attend to your business.”
“I will begin preparing the Rank Five potion for you.”
“All right.”
Freya launched herself from the sofa and ran out of the church with quick, bare footsteps.
She and Euphemia had agreed to meet at noon in a fairly well-known restaurant.
Euphemia had said that her payment for the case would be a meal.
Freya had planned to treat her to something nice.
Who could have expected that after arriving at the Earth Church, she would sleep twice and miss the meeting time?
Freya waved one small hand and cast a buff on herself.
The effect enhanced her physical ability.
Her running speed immediately rose by a large margin.
Freya could feel that after receiving the buff, her current physical ability already surpassed Rank One War Freya.
The civilians near the Earth Church saw only a white figure flash past.
A refreshing fragrance lingered behind her.
As Freya ran, she suddenly stopped.
She braked with her bare feet.
Slowly, she lowered her head and opened her eyes.
Her beautiful emerald-like pupils held a cute pattern resembling little cat paws.
She stared blankly at her smooth, bare feet.
She had left in such a rush that she had forgotten to put on shoes and socks.
What was she supposed to do now?
“Uh…”
After a moment of silence, Freya closed her eyes again and continued running.
She could not turn around to put on shoes now.
She was already late.
That would waste too much time.
Besides, she was a member of the Earth Church now.
Going barefoot should be normal, right?
If anyone asked, she would blame the church.
Because Freya had reached Rank Four, even after running so far barefoot, not a single speck of dust clung to her feet.
They remained perfectly clean.
It was not just her feet either.
Her entire body was untouched by dust.
Freya truly no longer had pores or any unnecessary body hair.
She no longer sweated.
She no longer needed to use the restroom.
Even food was no longer necessary.
As long as she stood on the ground, she could continuously replenish her energy.
“I feel like I’ve turned into one of those perfect fictional wives people used to obsess over online.”
Freya complained silently to herself.
Using Mind Sense, she soon saw a place three blocks away called the Veyron Estate Hotel.
She also saw Euphemia waiting in a private room on the second floor, looking rather bored.
When Freya saw that Euphemia had not left and was still waiting for her, she sped up again.
A short while later, she finally reached the meeting place and opened the door to the private room.
“You’re late.”
A bored Euphemia lifted her head toward the door.
Then she saw the unfamiliar white-haired girl standing there and froze.
“Huh? Wait… who are you?”
Freya first steadied her breathing.
“I’m Freya.”
“A little accident happened. I’m sorry I’m late.”
It was worth noting that after reaching the second floor, Source Trace had stopped working.
Clearly, even if she was barefoot, this did not count as standing on the earth.
As for Euphemia, her expression gradually shifted from confusion to shock, then from shock to blank disbelief.
“Wait. You… this… I… huh?”
A thousand words ultimately condensed into a single question.
“Are you serious? You’re Freya?”
“Not some insanely powerful older sister or younger sister of hers?”
“Of course it’s me.”
Freya tilted her head slightly.
Her long white hair drifted softly with the movement, making her look unbearably cute.
Through Mind Sense, Freya could see a faint aura around Euphemia.
It carried the scent of books, ink, and paper.
Freya took a few steps closer.
When she was about two paces away, she leaned forward slightly and sniffed.
The scent was clean and refreshing, almost enough to sharpen the mind.
Freya could see that Euphemia was probably at Rank Two.
There were many impurities in her body.
She must have advanced not long ago.
Only then did Freya realize what she was doing.
She opened her eyes and gave Euphemia an apologetic look.
“Anyway, sorry for making you wait.”
Euphemia was still trapped in the shock of what she had just witnessed.
She stared at the white-haired girl who had somehow become several times cuter than she had been that morning.
Then she looked into Freya’s beautiful, almost inhuman eyes.
“You… I… you…”
Another ten full seconds passed before Euphemia finally managed to speak.
“Wait. How are you already Rank Four?”
“You were an ordinary person this morning!”
Euphemia had seen other Rank Four practitioners before.
The life form of a Rank Four practitioner was completely different from that of an ordinary human.
With a change this dramatic, she could tell at a glance that Freya was at least Rank Four.
But wasn’t that far too ridiculous?
Freya scratched her cheek with one finger.
She had no idea how to explain it.
“A small accident happened.”
Euphemia stared at her.
“You’re calling four consecutive Ranks in one morning an accident?”
