*Excerpt*
Fuck, she hated him.
She hated him so much that her body arched every time he thrust into her, his rough length dragging against her walls, letting her feel every bit of him.
His face stayed buried in her neck, biting and sucking until purple marks bloomed across her skin, marking her as his. "You’re a stubborn thing, Neria."
He lifted her higher and drove deeper, striking a place that pulled a moan from her. "Ah..."
"You’ve always been so damn stubborn."
Another thrust.
He quickened his pace, forcing the defiance in her sapphire eyes to slowly melt into pleasure. "Look at that face you’re making..."
He bent to kiss her, his tongue sliding into her mouth, slowly so she could feel his tongue inside her, she could taste herself on his tongue as it explored every part of her mouth. "You’re to only make that face for me."

Before you start, I just wanna tell you a few things so you know what you’re getting yourself into. 😭
First of all, this is a slow burn. Like, not completely slow but my characters are NOT falling in love immediately...🫠
Also... this book starts off really dark. I thought I should warn y’all before you dive in because... yeah. Things get a little um...a bit... Um.. well you’ll see...🤧
Now, a little bit about the world!
🌊 MERFOLK
There are two types of merfolk in this world: Calypsos and Sirens.
Calypsos are basically your typical beautiful, harmless mermaids. They usually migrate like other fish, travelling in pods and staying away from hunters and Sirens.
Then we have the Sirens.
Yeah... these ones are NOT your cute little singing mermaids. 💀
Sirens are the predators of the sea. They sink ships, eat humans AND Calypsos, and are usually solitary and violent creatures. There’s also way more written about them than there is about Calypsos... probably because people tend to write more about things they’re terrified of. 👀
🐉 DRAGONS
Dragons are the supreme beings and rulers of this world. They’re basically the caretakers of the earth.
But before anyone gets excited—no, they’re not immortal. And they can’t shift either. They’ve evolved differently from the dragons you might be used to seeing. More will be explained as you go on...
🌙 HUMANS... AND OTHERS
Of course, humans exist too.
There are also witches and werewolves, although the werewolves mostly keep to themselves.
And that’s all I’m giving you for now. 🤭
I really, REALLY hope you guys like this story! I’ve put a lot into it and I’m already attached to these characters, which is probably a problem. 😭
Also, low-key missed sleep writing this. 💀
