Kaelen didn't build his capital out of marble and white mortar. Marble cracked under siege engines, and mortar turned to dust when exposed to the high-frequency thermal energy of a dragon's breath. He wanted a capital that looked exactly like his Vanguard—unyielding, dark, and forged through raw elemental violence.

Deep in the geographical center of the Ash-Wastes, right where three major basalt valleys intersected, Kaelen stood on a high volcanic ridge. Below him, over four thousand rogue dwarven smiths, freed human miners, and ash-tribe builders stood ready. Massive iron wagons from the Iron-Grip Foundry sat filled to the brim with raw iron ore and high-density obsidian rock.

"The blueprints are ready, Captain," Thorgar the Defiant grunted, wiping soot from his scarred brow as he unrolled a heavy leather hide. "But to anchor a fortress this large into the shifting fault lines of the Wastes, we need foundations deeper than any standard drill can bite."

"We don't need a drill, Thorgar," Kaelen said, his signature, rebellious smirk cutting through the rising sulfur fog.

He stepped off the ridge, his boots clicking against the bare basalt. He stripped his leather brigandine away, tossing it to Jax, leaving his torso bare to the wind. The gold, azure, and violet elemental veins etched into his skin were glowing with a terrifyingly calm, blinding light. The trinity of his core was humming at maximum capacity.

Kaelen dropped to one knee and slammed both palms flat against the black volcanic stone.

*TECTONIC SYNC — RESONANCE BREAK.*

Instead of projecting lightning outward, Kaelen channeled a massive, low-frequency vibration straight into the earth's crust, using the high-density earth affinity he had assimilated from the Earth Drake.

*RUMBLE.*

The entire valley floor violently tilted. A mile-wide circle of solid basalt began to crack, the stone groaning like a waking titan as Kaelen forced the subterranean tectonic plates to shift, rise, and lock together.

"Kuro! Ignis! Melt the perimeter!" Kaelen roared, his teeth bared as blood vessels bulged across his neck from the sheer strain of holding the earth in place.

Up in the ash-choked sky, the two legendary dragons dove in a perfect, synchronized spiral. The Ignis Tyrant unleashed a colossal, white-hot river of liquid magma along the fractured perimeter, while Kuro followed directly behind, his shadow-wings pulsing as he unleashed a localized void-vacuum. The anti-magic vacuum didn't extinguish the fire; it compressed the thermal energy, forcing the liquid magma to instantly fuse with the raw iron ore the dwarves were dumping into the trenches.

*CLANG! CRACKLE!*

Kaelen shifted his core’s output. The earth-affinity snapped into high-frequency azure lightning. He channeled millions of volts directly into the cooling, molten alloy, manual-pounding the molecular structure of the entire foundation from the inside out, exactly like he had done with his vanguard armor.

The cooling steam hissed as it erupted from the deep trenches, filling the valley with a thick, white fog. When the mist finally parted, the workers let out a collective gasp of absolute reverence.

Rising three hundred feet out of the raw earth was the foundation of **The Obsidian Spire**. It wasn't a collection of individual stones; it was a single, continuous monolith of black, lightning-infused volcanic steel. The walls were sloped, razor-thin but completely indestructible, designed to deflect any siege stone or magical artillery the capital could ever dream of casting.

Kaelen stood up slowly, his bare chest smoking as the elemental lines faded back into his skin. He wiped a streak of gray ash from his forehead, turning to Thorgar with his classic, cocky grin.

"There's your foundation, Thorgar," Kaelen breathed, his voice steady despite the massive expenditure of mana. "Go ahead and build the roof. I like my ceilings high."

Thorgar stared at the flawless, glass-smooth black steel wall, his heavy hammer falling from his slack jaw. "By the forge-god... you didn't just dig a foundation. You grew a mountain."

Behind them, the four thousand outcasts and builders raised their tools, their cheers shaking the valley floor. The Dragon Sovereignty finally had a heart.
