“Ahh—!”

Wang Pozi let out a pig-slaughtering scream of agony. The medicine bowl in her hand clattered to the ground and shattered into several pieces. Pitch-black medicinal liquid splashed everywhere, releasing a sharp, choking odor that made people wrinkle their brows.

Wang Pozi’s face had turned pale from the pain, tears and snot smeared all over her face, making her look like some hideous creature just dragged out of a mud pit. She glared at Shen Qinghuan and shrieked in a piercing voice, “I was sent by Madam!”

“Aren’t you afraid Lord will skin you alive and tear out your tendons?!”

“Skin me alive?”

Shen Qinghuan let out a scoff. The strength in her hand increased again, her fingers clamped around Wang Pozi’s wrist like iron pincers. Watching Wang Pozi bare her teeth in pain, her features twisted into a knot, Shen Qinghuan smiled pleasantly.

“Let me tell you, right now I’m like a clay Buddha crossing the river— I can barely save myself.”

“Not to mention you were sent by Madam Wang. Even if that bastard Shen Cong’an came himself, I’d still beat him until he cried for his parents and questioned his entire life!”

The moment her words fell, a series of ding-dong sounds suddenly rang in her mind, identical to the notification tone of the video game consoles she had played as a child.

Shen Qinghuan’s eyes lit up, and she nearly jumped on the spot.

Holy crap!

A golden cheat!

This was literally a pillow delivered right when she was dozing off— perfect timing!

With a thought, her consciousness instantly whooshed into a vast white space.

The first thing she saw was a spring emitting misty steam. The water was so clear she could see the pebbles at the bottom. Beside it lay a stretch of dark, glossy soil that looked so fertile it seemed to ooze oil.

Not far away stood an empty warehouse. In one corner, the laser baton, anti-wolf spray, compressed biscuits, and a cold-gleaming military knife were neatly arranged, making her heart blossom with joy.

She had struck it rich!

This was basically the ultimate deluxe starter pack for transmigrators!

Suppressing the wild excitement in her chest, she suddenly released her grip.

Wang Pozi, thrown off balance, fell forward with a heavy thud, face-planting hard. One of her front teeth snapped off, her mouth filling with blood. She whimpered in pain like an old sow whose tail had been stepped on.

Shen Qinghuan’s eyes turned sharp, a cold smile curling at her lips.

Since this evil servant was determined to kill her, she couldn’t blame her for being ruthless and sending her on her way.

She strode forward and planted a foot on Wang Pozi’s back. The force was so great that Wang Pozi let out a muffled groan, nearly passing out.

The military knife flashed with a cold gleam.

Up went the hand— down came the blade— and her throat was slit in one clean motion.

Warm blood splashed onto Shen Qinghuan’s shoe tips. Wang Pozi didn’t even manage a final sound before her legs kicked once and she died.

Without changing expression, Shen Qinghuan willed it, and the corpse vanished instantly into the space. She casually tossed it into the deep mountains within.

Beasts roamed there in droves. Within half a day, nothing would remain— not even bones.

“Get lost!”

Shen Qinghuan barked coldly, brandishing the knife at the two servants by the doorway, who were trembling so hard their legs nearly gave out and they were on the verge of wetting themselves. The blade’s cold gleam forced them to squint.

“Go back and tell Madam Wang, that vicious woman, to stop provoking me.”

“Otherwise, Wang Pozi will be your fate.”

The two servants felt as if they had been granted amnesty. They scrambled out of the room, stumbling and nearly crashing into the doorframe, not daring to look back once.

Shen Qinghuan shut the door, leaned against it, and let out a long breath. She lowered her head and gently touched her slightly protruding belly, a mischievous smile tugging at her lips.

“Kid, don’t be afraid.”

“Your mom has seen big scenes. I can tear open packages bare-handed and stay up all night sniping flash sales. From today on, I’ll defy fate with you— we’ll eat well, live well, and never suffer this crap again!”

With a thought, she took out a small bottle of spirit spring water, twisted off the cap, and gulped it down.

The sweet, refreshing liquid slid down her throat and instantly transformed into a warm current that spread through her limbs and bones. Her body, which had been weak from poisoning, was suddenly filled with strength. Her lower abdomen grew warmly comfortable, and the piercing pain vanished completely.

It felt so good she nearly moaned aloud. Even her pores seemed to radiate relief.

Amazing!

Absolutely amazing!

She grabbed a pack of compressed biscuits from the warehouse and devoured it in a few bites. The hunger in her stomach disappeared completely.

Fed and watered, Shen Qinghuan began planning her grand counterattack.

This rural estate was remote and far from the capital— the perfect place to nurture her pregnancy.

Once she gave birth and recovered, she would rely on the spirit spring and medicinal herbs in her space to become a famed divine doctor. Then she would return to the capital, slap Shen Cong’an, Madam Wang, and Shen Chuchu— that family of three— across the face, and reclaim everything that had belonged to the original owner, with interest.

As for the stranger who had ruined the original owner’s innocence—

Shen Qinghuan rubbed her chin, a cold glint flashing in her eyes as she ground her teeth.

“When I find you, I’ll make sure you know what true regret feels like— a crematorium chase-wife scenario with nowhere left to cry.”

And so Shen Qinghuan settled down in the dilapidated thatched cottage.

She first used spirit spring water to thoroughly clean inside and outside the house. The unpleasant moldy and medicinal odors vanished instantly, replaced by the fresh, sweet scent unique to the spring water, invigorating to the senses.

She then took out a waterproof sheet from the space, spread it over the hard plank bed, and layered soft dry grass on top. At last, she had somewhere to lie down.

In the days that followed, Shen Qinghuan began methodically planning her rise.

During the day, everyone on the estate was busy working in the fields or gossiping at the village entrance. No one paid attention to her— the abandoned woman forgotten by the Shen family.

Taking advantage of this, Shen Qinghuan slipped into the space like a thief whenever she had the chance.

She had originally thought the space contained only the spirit spring, black soil, and warehouse. But this time, when she focused and entered, she discovered that at the far end of the black soil stood a palm-sized wooden hut.

It looked eight hundred times shabbier than the thatched cottage outside. The roof’s straw was sparse, as if it might blow off at any moment. The gaps in the walls were wide enough to stick fingers through. The crooked door hinges screeched eerily when opened, making one’s scalp tingle.

Inside, it was even barer— nothing but four empty walls.

There was only a wooden plank bed missing a leg and a wobbly broken table.

Not even a stool to sit on.
