As Elvan finished his words, a huge expanse of grassy land came into view.
Short grass covered the whole land.
Not a perfect circular outline, but enough…
enough for it to appear that way.
Glancing around, Kai asked,
“This…
isn’t natural?”
“It isn’t.
It’s a tourist-designated spot made by the townspeople.”
Elvan said while pulling the reins.
The horse stopped.
“This place is good for camping,” Elvan added.
Soon, the group began arranging their camps.
“Phew…
all done,” Elvan replied while setting the final nail.
“My side’s done too,” Kai replied from the other end.
“Let’s buy some groceries,” Ren said while walking past them.
“Good…
that way we can finish up everything before dawn,” Elvan said.
“So…
who’s going to buy the groceries?” Kai asked.
Ren placed the pots in the centre and said,
“I will go.”
“Take Tom with you.”
“Is it your horse’s name?” Kai asked.
“Yeah.”
Kai loosened his shoulders.
“Ren doesn’t know how to handle a horse,” he said.
“Don’t worry.
Tom isn’t that hard to handle.
Besides, it’ll help him carry the groceries all the way here.”
Ren nodded, accepting Elvan’s suggestion.
Elvan left to separate Tom from the cart.
Kai watched Elvan and said,
“Ren.”
“You sure…
you want to ride him?
We’re at least one kilometre away from Alren’s entrance.”
Just as Kai finished speaking,
Elvan brought the horse toward them.
“Pull the reins in the direction you want to move…
and to stop, give a gentle tap near its side.”
With that, Elvan handed the reins to Ren.
“Got it.”
Ren got onto the horse.
The horse became restless when it sensed a stranger on its back.
But soon, under Elvan’s continuous soothing, it slowly calmed down.
Tom stomped his hoof on the ground.
“I am leaving,” Ren said while adjusting the reins in his hand.
Then he guided the horse forward.
“Return before dawn,” Kai said from behind.
