Never Under Estimate A Water Mage

THE LAND OF MIGICA AND THE REVIVAL OF PEACE

(Narrator: Marinus) Yeah, I know the title is very good, so don’t underestimate me. Marin, or my full name is Marinus, but call me Marin and never call me a fish (yeah, someone dumb said that, but I just assumed that person was loca) ok so let me give you a brief insight into who I am. Hola, mis amigas, soy Mani. I consider myself a pretty smart and funny guy, while others say I am extremely clumsy le ignore that. I am also a very inquisitive person cuz I like to know about many things, but people say I can be a bit of a know-it-all sometimes; who cares? I have a great interest in arithmetic’s and economics, and I just applied for a financial adviser position in a tech firm. Mi Hermanita Marina, who is five years my junior, was mi mundo (my world), and if you dare hurt her, I will…….. hurt you bad. Ok, so the thing is my mom (who is evil) disowned her as she was deaf and mute. I mean, come on, she is just differently-abled, not a disappointment you have to disown. In short, I loved my sister so much, but some say I could be very overprotective of her. I would often meet her by the shores and bring some necessities. People also think that I am a very big scaredy-cat, which is true : (, as I am afraid of every possible thing in this universe. Although I am not afraid of making mistakes cuz I do that a lot. My powers involve water and its properties, which include freezing any object containing water, teleportation, and creating huge waves. I can also merge the properties of water in someone.

Ok, so that’s it about me. Let’s get back to the quest. So, you know about Ijan and Evanthia going on a quest to save Migica, but aside from them, I also am on a quest to save Migica. One day, I was just walking across the shores of Playa five years ago; I found a message in a bottle washed up on the shore. I took it, removed the message from its bottle, then read it. The message was in Latin, and it said that I must head north to Agni-deshah, where I would meet four people to join my mission to find the rubies of eternal heat, then head back south to find the Virgam-Oceani and the Pérola do mar. Then find two other artefacts and three other allies, head over to the Cosmological summit, and do some magicy stuff and defeat an impending evil which is not mentioned. Wow, that was a lot to hear in one day. So, I showed the message to Marina, and she singe/blinked to me, “What do we do?” so I singed back, “We follow it.” And since then, we planned to find a way to first try to get out of Aqua-patriae, then the rest we would think of later. So, this was the plan we made: -

First, get out of Aqua-patriae through the sea by using a teleportation spell, which I mastered.

Next, reach transport Chóra-fýs, find a form of transport and drive till I reach Fýsis.

Then teleport myself from Fýsis to Chand by using the channel between the two cities.

Then climb upward into Aatish-fishaani-sheesha (yeah, the name sounds odd but it means obsidian)

Then take a Bulla ex aere and enter Agnideshah.

Then rent a car to Āguna, find my first ally, then head to Agni and get the next artefact.

Then we will head back to Playa, where we will meet Marina and search for the other artefacts

Sounds like an easy plan, right? So, a month before Evanthia and Ijan were starting their quest, I arrived at the shores of Ammópetra with a shining blue light due to the spell. The glowing light attracted the attention of the beach guards, but I created a huge wave to crash on them and take them into the ocean. I am so sorry, mi-amigas. They were good and honourable guards, and I killed them. I am so, so sorry. While I passed through the magical border of Chóra-fýs, it glowed blue, but no sirens blazed, very extraño (strange).

I walked through the streets until I found a car. I checked the lock and found it was open. I used a bit of magic and started it, and I hoped no one would catch me, as I don’t have a licence. Then I drove off into the night, headed northward to go on save Migica or whatever.

I passed through Vráchos, a land with rocky terrain, Vounó, a city of mountains where the famous

mount Olympus is said to be located and finally the capital of the state of Vasíleio-gis, Gi which then led to the border between Vasíleio-gis and Chóra-fýs. I took the road cuz I still don’t know how to operate the car in sky mode. However, the ride was much better on the road, or so I thought.

So, as I was about to reach Chóra-fýs, I was stopped by the border guards, and they clearly noticed I was not a Fýsik. I panicked at that moment; I was about to reach phase three of my plan when some huncko-muncko guards were not only trying to terminate my plan but also planning to terminate my life. I knew I had to stay calm. As they stopped me, they pulled their weapons out. Some had spears; some had huge snipers. “Come out or else we’ll have to force you out.” One guard said, so I came out with my hands over my head and said, “Hola mi-amigos, I meant- officers, I know this looks muy suspicious, and I know I am not supposed to be here but hear me out, whatever you thought about the other countries is wrong we can attain peace, you see….” “Ha… ha….ha.” the guard laughed and cut me off. I meant, how? “What, this person is crazy, hey kid, are you serious? You’re risking your life for this foolish, oh I wish I could send you back to where you came from cause clearly you are confused.” He said as the other guards laughed, clearly amused. I was embarrassed but still determined, so I pressed, “Señor, I am not confused me and my sister have planned everything. If you would hear my petition, it would be muy helpful for all of Migica.” “Kid, are you ok? Because no one plans world-changing things at your age. Please, if you want to play hero, go somewhere else.” He said, still not believing me. “Señor, I don’t want to play hero. I am here on a mission given to me by the elder of Aqua. I need to complete this mission, or else there would be grave consequences for the whole of Migica.” I insisted, believing he would believe me, but instead he laughed and said, “Kid, you crack me up. Don’t waste my time; you are clearly not stable-minded. Please, I’ll give you one last chance: go back to the place from where you came.” I couldn’t just listen to him; I am on a mission, and if I cannot convince him by words, I must use my magic on him. Ugh, why do I have to even do this? I don’t like hurting people with my magic, but I have to. So I warned him one last time. “Señor, if you don’t just listen to me, I would need to use my powers, and I really don’t want to.” “What is this kid? What powers do you have, eh? Let’s see. I’ll let you have the first shot,” he chuckled, thinking how can a scrawny teenager stand up to a Fýsik guard. However, he clearly underestimated this eighteen-year-old’s power. Look, I ain’t just an ordinary teenage boy; I am a water mage, and I noticed the storm clouds brewing above us long ago. I raised my hand higher and made it start raining. The guard looked up at the sky and said with condescension and mockery evident in his voice, “Oh, how dreadful a little rain; I am defeated. Oh, how sad. Eh, don’t waste my time, my boy; come on, guards, let’s finish this.” However, as they were about to throw spears and shoot bullets, I created a protective bubble around me and used the water around me to create a huge wave that washed upon the guards like a tsunami and pushed them at least ten kilometres away. I drove into Fýsis, which would have at least taken me four hours. I reached the channel's opening and used it to teleport to Chand, and I disappeared with a bright blue flash in the stream of water left, which flowed into a deep canal going underground into the grate channel of Migica, which connects to every water body in Migica. I then resurfaced at an underground channel in Chand in Balad-alqamar, the nearest province to Agnideshah. I came out of the channel through an opening in the Jwalidirvar, one of the longest mountain ranges.

This tale has been pilfered from NovelPhoenix. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

The Jwalidirvar acts as a natural border for Agni-deshah not only from other countries but also from harsh climatic conditions. Unlike other mountain ranges, this mountain range is really hot due to the large number of volcanoes in it.

So now I, a water mage, must pass through the steamy volcanic terrain of the Jwalidirvar to get into Agni-deshah. No pressure, right? (gulp). I pulled a map of the area. I followed it and reached the Angaara-aabshaar, which used to be an ember-fall but now cooled down into a rocky cascade. However, there was no sign of the Jwal-talavaara. The prophecy said that I would find it over here.

As I was searching the area, I looked up at the tall peaks and said to myself, “Hmm, that looks like a long climb. Well, luckily I have just the thing…” “Well, you’d be going higher than that or lower, give or take guards charge.” A voice cut me off from behind. I turned to look and saw it was a guard from Agnideshah. She then held her gun upwards and shot. Then suddenly the alarms started blazing, and backup came in guns blazing, literally. I realised I had entered Aatish-fishaani-sheesha, the northernmost state of Agnideshah. I looked at the guards charging at me with bullets, swords and bows, and I thought I was doomed. But then suddenly I sensed some water underground, which means there is a geyser under me. So, I stepped back and said, “Please lay down your arms; I am here in peace, and I really don’t want to hurt anyone.” “Ha, please, you people seem to be so peaceful, but you end up hurting us.” I was tired of being considered evil, so I took no pleasure in just summoning the geyser. The force blocked the bullets and blew away the guards too. While the geyser covered me took out a flask from my pocket and crashed on the ground beneath my feet, and mist sprang up around me and formed a bubble around me, and I floated upwards. As I looked down, I saw all the guards being washed down the ranges. Then I looked forward to see the tall peaks, while glimpses of my destination could only be seen.
