Morning arrived quietly over the Academy.

Before most students had even left their dormitories, Nihil was already awake.

Alpha 1 stood beside him, equally prepared.Full novel: THE LAST SERIES — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The two walked through the quiet corridors toward the cafeteria.

When they entered, they found Seraphina and Mimi already there.

Seraphina:

“Morning, Nihil.”

Mimi looked up from her breakfast and smiled.

Mimi:

“Fancy seeing you and Alpha here this early.”

Alpha 1:

“Master and I are beginning our quest for our Soul Weapons.”

Seraphina raised an eyebrow.

Seraphina:

“So you’re teaming up with her?”

Mimi immediately shook her head.

Mimi:

“No, we can’t allow that!”

She pointed toward Nihil.

Mimi:

“Who is going to take care of both of you?”

Nihil calmly looked at her.

Nihil:

“We’ll be fine.”

Alpha 1:

“I can take care of myself.”

She glanced toward Nihil.

Alpha 1:

“And Father can take care of himself.”

Alpha 1:

“We have a master in every field of survival.”

Seraphina sighed.

Seraphina:

“That’s exactly what makes me uneasy.”

She looked at Nihil.

Seraphina:

“But if you say you’re fine, I suppose you are.”

Mimi crossed her arms.

Mimi:

“There’s no denying it.

We have our own quests as well.”

Nihil stood.

Nihil:

“Then let’s move.”

Alpha 1:

“Agreed.”

The two left the cafeteria.

THE FORBIDDEN LIBRARY

Their first destination was the forbidden chamber beneath the Academy library.

The room contained ancient records concerning Soul Weapons, lost civilizations, forbidden materials, and forgotten magical techniques.

Alpha 1 had spent the previous evening gathering information.

Nihil turned toward her.

Nihil:

“Did you gather the information about the materials I asked you to find?”

Alpha 1:

“Yes.”

She opened her notes.

Alpha 1:

“You said you don’t need an ordinary weapon.”

Nihil:

“Correct.”

Alpha 1:

“You need a perfect one.”

Nihil nodded.

Alpha 1 began listing the required materials.

THE SEVEN MATERIALS

1.

The Hero’s Holy Sword

A weapon that could be obtained by defeating a recognized hero.

2.

Noble Demon Blood

The United Races Guild, TURG, possessed rare samples that could be purchased.

3.

The Demon Destructor Sword

An ancient weapon believed to be sealed deep beneath the Unholy Water.

4.

Celestial Flesh

A material obtainable from the heavenly domain.

5.

Dragon Teeth and Nails

Ancient dragon materials could be found within the western mountains of the Dragon Realm.

6.

The Tree of Life

A branch from the sacred Elven Tree of Life.

7.

Nihil’s Own Blood and Flesh

The final component.

Nihil closed the book.

Nihil:

“Then let’s start.”

Alpha 1:

“Yes, Father.”

Space warped around them.

In the next instant, they disappeared.

THE ELVEN DOMAIN

The world reappeared around them.

They stood before the Elven Domain.

And above the distant city towered the legendary Tree of Life.

It was enormous.

Its trunk was larger than many castles.

Its branches reached beyond the clouds.

The highest portions disappeared into the sky.

Even the surrounding mountains looked small beside it.

Nihil and Alpha 1 entered the city.

The streets were filled with Elven mages, soldiers, scholars, merchants, and nobles.

Eventually, an Elven noble approached them.

Elven Noble:

“Human.”

His eyes moved toward Alpha 1.

Elven Noble:

“Who are you?”

Elven Noble:

“And why have you entered our territory?”

Nihil answered calmly.

Nihil:

“We’re adventurers.”

Nihil:

“We came to see the Tree of Life.”

The noble’s expression immediately hardened.

Elven Noble:

“We don’t display the Tree of Life to foreigners.”

He looked toward the enormous tree.

Elven Noble:

“It is sacred to us.”

Elven Noble:

“Gods aren’t objects for display.”

Elven Noble:

“Neither is our sacred tree.”

Elven Noble:

“Leave.”

Nihil simply nodded.

Nihil:

“Understood, sir.”

He turned away.

Nihil:

“Come, Alpha.”

The two left the city.

THE NIGHT OF CHAOS

Night eventually covered the Elven Domain.

The city became quiet.

Then the sky suddenly darkened.

A massive dragon descended upon the forest.

Chaos erupted.

The dragon’s attack devastated large sections of the city.

Before the Elven forces could fully react, a mysterious silhouette appeared above the dragon.

The figure disappeared with the dragon.

But the damage had already been done.

Alpha 1 appeared within the city.

The remaining mages immediately attempted to activate their defensive magic.

Alpha moved before they could complete their spells.

The city’s defenders were overwhelmed.

Citizens began fleeing toward the forest.

Then something even more terrifying appeared. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.

White flames rose around the entire area.

They formed an enormous barrier, sealing every path outward.

Alpha looked toward Nihil.

Alpha 1:

“Father?”

Nihil calmly walked toward the flames.

The white fire parted around him.

He stepped through.

Then Nihil raised one hand.

Nihil:

“Fuhai Shita Suramu no Fujō Toshi.”

UNHOLY CITY OF ROTTEN SLUM

The white flames spread.

The Elven Domain disappeared beneath an overwhelming wave of destruction.

The event left no meaningful witnesses.

The ancient forest was reduced to silence.

Even the sacred city was gone.

Nihil approached the Tree of Life.

He broke several branches from it.

The moment he obtained the material, white flames reached the enormous tree.

The Tree of Life vanished within the flames.

Nihil looked at Alpha.

Nihil:

“We’re done here.”

Nihil:

“Let’s move to the next target.”

Alpha 1 nodded.

Space distorted.

THE HERO

Their next destination was a human city.

At the center stood a famous arena.

Nihil entered.

Nihil:

“I challenge the hero.”

The judges accepted.

The rules were simple.

The winner could claim one possession from the loser.

The city’s hero entered the arena.

The battle began.

It ended quickly.

Nihil stood victorious.

The hero accepted the result.

Hero:

“You won fairly.”

Hero:

“What do you want?”

Nihil:

“Your Holy Sword.”

The hero hesitated.

Hero:

“I have no problem giving it to you.”

Hero:

“But Holy Swords are normally wielded only by chosen heroes.”

Hero:

“You may not be able to use it.”

Hero:

“Would you rather I purchase another weapon for you?”

Nihil calmly reached for the sword.

Nihil:

“No.”

Nihil:

“There is no sword that can refuse my power.”

He took the Holy Sword.

Nothing happened.

The weapon accepted him.

The hero stared in disbelief.

TURG

Nihil entered a branch of TURG.

The United Races Guild was one of the largest organizations in Elysara.

Its facilities contained resources from almost every major race.

Nihil purchased a sample of noble demon blood.

After completing the transaction, he turned toward Alpha 1.

Nihil:

“Let’s split up.”

Nihil:

“It’ll be faster.”

Alpha 1:

“Understood.”

Alpha disappeared.

THE HEAVENS

Alpha 1 arrived in the heavenly domain.

Even powerful beings failed to detect her presence.

She located a Celestial.

Her domain activated.

The Celestial was trapped.

Afterward, Alpha obtained the material Nihil needed and returned.

THE DRAGON REALM

Meanwhile, Nihil traveled to the western mountains of the Dragon Realm.

Ancient dragon remains could be found throughout the region.

Nihil gathered the required teeth, nails, and fossils.

Then he returned.

Nihil:

“Only one thing remains.”

Alpha 1:

“The Demon Destructor Sword.”

Nihil:

“Correct.”

Alpha 1:

“We’ll need a ship.”

Nihil smiled.

Nihil:

“Already arranged.”

Nihil:

“I contacted Noctis.”

Nihil:

“He’ll send one tomorrow.”

Alpha 1:

“Then we’ll wait.”

THE GOLDEN SHIP

The following morning, Nihil and Alpha 1 arrived at the harbor.

Hundreds of ships were stationed along the coast.

Alpha suddenly pointed.

Alpha 1:

“That one.”

Nihil looked.

He immediately recognized it.

The ship was enormous.

Its exterior was covered in gold.

Emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and countless other precious stones decorated its structure.

It looked less like a ship and more like a floating treasure palace.

Nihil:

“Yes.”

He sighed.

Nihil:

“If I leave anything to Noctis, he definitely makes it out of gold.”

Alpha looked at him.

Nihil:

“After all, he’s a dragon.”

Nihil:

“His greed never ends.”

He stepped onto the ship.

Nihil:

“Shall we?”

Alpha 1:

“Yes, Father.”

THE UNHOLY WATER

Weeks passed.

The golden ship eventually reached a forbidden sea.

The water itself seemed different.

Dark.

Still.

Almost unnatural.

Alpha looked across the ocean.

Alpha 1:

“Father…”

Alpha 1:

“Is this the place?”

Nihil:

“The Unholy Water.”

The two descended into the sea.

Deeper.

And deeper.

Until they finally reached the ocean floor.

An enormous ancient door stood before them.

The door opened.

Beyond it was an ancient dungeon.

Countless monsters and guardians remained inside.

Alpha 1 moved through the dungeon.

Guardian after guardian was defeated.

Meanwhile, Nihil continued deeper.

Eventually, he found the chamber he had been searching for.

An ancient sword rested there.

It was surrounded by countless chains and ancient spells.

Nihil reached toward it.

The moment his fingers touched the weapon—

CRACK.

Every chain broke.

The ancient seals collapsed.

Nihil lifted the sword.

The Demon Destructor Sword had been freed.

He and Alpha returned to the ship.

TWO YEARS LATER

Back at the Academy, two years passed.

Seraphina had completed her Soul Weapon.

Mimi had completed hers as well.

Yet neither had forgotten Nihil.

Seraphina crossed her arms.

Seraphina:

“Nihil obviously forgot about us.”

Mimi looked toward the door.

Mimi:

“I want to see him.”

Mimi:

“Where is Master?”

The door opened.

Nihil entered.

Alpha 1 followed.

Mimi’s expression immediately brightened.

Mimi:

“Master!”

Nihil calmly walked toward the crafting table.

The materials he had collected during his journey were placed before him.

Holy Sword.

Demon blood.

Demon Destructor Sword.

Celestial material.

Dragon fossils.

Tree of Life branches.

And finally—

His own essence.

Nihil began preparing the weapon.

THE FINAL CREATION

The crafting chamber became completely silent.

Nihil carefully combined every material.

Each one had a different origin.

Human.

Demon.

Dragon.

Celestial.

Elven.

And Nihil himself.

The materials began merging.

The Holy Sword became part of the weapon’s foundation.

The Demon Destructor Sword became intertwined with its core.

Dragon material reinforced its structure.

Celestial material changed its nature.

The Tree of Life material provided another layer of power.

Finally, Nihil added his own essence.

The weapon began glowing.

Nihil made a small cut on his hand.

The wound immediately disappeared.

Alpha 1 watched carefully.

She collected a small amount of the material necessary for her own experiment.

At the same time, the humanoid figure she had been constructing began to move.

It possessed the appearance of a young adult with fox ears and a fox tail.

Alpha carefully polished its form.

Then she waited.

The weapon in Nihil’s hands finally stabilized.

His Soul Grimoire opened by itself.

The pages turned.

One page after another.

Until a new title appeared.

DEUS EXCIDIUM

Nihil looked at the name.

He remained silent.

The weapon was complete.

Then another page suddenly appeared.

ZHILKAI

Nihil turned toward Alpha’s creation.

The newly created being slowly opened her eyes.

Her existence resonated with Nihil’s Soul Grimoire.

The book recognized her.

The race that Nihil had created now had a name.

ZHILKAI.

Nihil considered the new being for several seconds.

Nihil:

“Your name will be Omega.”

The girl looked toward him.

Omega:

“Omega.”

She accepted the name without hesitation.

Mimi stared at her.

Mimi:

“Another one…”

Seraphina looked at Nihil.

Seraphina:

“You really disappeared for two years just to come back with another experiment.”

Nihil looked at her.

Nihil:

“Yes.”

Seraphina sighed.

Seraphina:

“Of course.”

Alpha stood beside Omega.

The new Zhilkai remained close to Nihil.

The connection between creator and creation was already established.

THE RETURN

Nihil looked toward the golden ship waiting outside.

Nihil:

“We’re going back to the Academy.”

Alpha 1:

“Yes, Father.”

The ship began moving.

Behind them remained the memories of their journey.

The materials had been collected.

The Soul Weapon had been created.

And a new race had entered the world.

But deep within Nihil’s Soul Grimoire, something else had begun to change.

The page titled DEUS EXCIDIUM was only the beginning.

BILLIONS OF YEARS LATER

Deep inside an ancient library, two students sat beside an enormous pile of historical records.

The lazy student slowly lowered the book.

Lazy Student:

“What the hell are we reading?”

He stared at the cover.

Lazy Student:

“A fantasy harem manga…”

He turned the page.

Lazy Student:

“…or the darkest history book ever written?”

The curious student didn’t even look up.

Curious Student:

“You can’t rate it yet.”

Lazy Student:

“Why not?”

The curious student turned another page.

Curious Student:

“Because the story has only just started.”

The lazy student stared at him.

Lazy Student:

“You’re actually serious about continuing this?”

Curious Student:

“Obviously.”

The ancient book remained open.

And beneath its pages waited another chapter of Nihil Mora’s history.
