It was as of the life in her was snatched away.

“Tsk tsk tsk.. sweet heart, it’s me your love!” Kevin smacked then let out a loud cold laughter.

Then, Michael approached Kevin, with his head bowing he said.

“My king, what’s your next plan?”

Eva glared at them not with bitterness but with helplessness, her eyes so lifeless as she stare quietly.

Kevin, the man who made her fall high on heel for, was none other than the man she saved from some goons weeks ago, and was also the vampire king, Alphab.

Now, that may sound ridiculous, right?

Okay.

Due to the curse, Alphab gain an ability that made him so different from all vampires and he can associate with humans without ever being noticed.

You heard it right, he is a shapeshifter, the first of it’s kind in the vampire world.

“She has served her purpose well, send her back to the mansion!” Kevin ordered.

“Hm” Michael nodded and went straight to yank Eva’s hand.

She didn’t protect, she just followed, walking like a lifeless corpse.

Hours later, she was back at the mansion, the feeling of being cheated broke her down.

The first man used her, and the second cheated her.

She was escorted to her room, there she sat down on the cold floor, she felt like crying but tears couldn’t come out of her lifeless eyes, even when she felt like screaming , her voice betrayed her that she couldnt even open her mouth.

After few hours, a knock echoed from the down , the young maid Cathy come in.

“Get ready, Alphab will be coming!”

She immediately turned and left,

Eva lay on the silk sheets, her body a rigid statue of surrender.

She had stopped being Eva the moment the mask was lowered in the damp Forest.

Now, she was merely a vessel, an empty one.

When the door creaked open, the air in the room turned frigid.

This wasn’t Kevin, the man with the gentle smile Or even the one who claimed to be paying off his debt or rather, was him..

He shed his black robe with agonizing slowness, revealing his broad chest.

He didn’t look like an old monster, he looked like a god carved with malice.

“Such a dutiful bride,” Alphab purred, his voice a low vibration that made the floorboards tremble.

He crawled onto the bed, looming over her.

“Do you still look for Kevin in these eyes, Eva? Or have you finally realized that you can’t escape your fate as a breeder.”

Eva stared at the ceiling, her eyes vacant.

She didn’t flinch when his cold fingers traced the line of her throat.

The betrayal was a physical weight in her chest, heavier than any weight and pain.

She had saved a monster unknowingly, and in return, he had betrayed her.

“You saved my life in that pack,” he whispered against her ear, his fangs grazing the skin.

“That’s why I can’t hurt you.

She kept silence as he gasped heavy while hitting harder md harder, ” It is only fair, I use yours to sustain my legacy.” He said.

Then moaned out loud….

Eva’s mind retreated to a dark, quiet corner.

He had her body, her freedom, and her future—but as her heart beat in a slow, rhythmic drum of despair, a spark of bitter resolve flickered.

If she was to be his breeder, she would be the one thing a shape shifter could never wish for….

The silence in the mansion wasn’t peace, it was a smothering shroud.

For weeks, Eva played the part of the broken doll, moving only when commanded and staring into nothingness.

But behind those “lifeless” eyes, she was cataloging every detail of Alphab’s stronghold.

Everyone’s weakness and activities….

She noticed that the maid, Cathy, sneaks out every night to meet some man in the woods.

And most importantly, she noticed that when Alphab shifted his form, he grew momentarily weak, his pulse erratic as his bones rearranged themselves.

The following day, at night, Eva cornered Cathy just as she come back from the woods..

“You hate him too, don’t you?” Eva’s voice was raspy from disuse, but sharp as a glass shard.

Cathy paled, dropping a bag of gift in her hand.

“I don’t know what you mean, My Lady.”

“When he gets to know about your night sneaking, then you will know what am talking about!” Eva stepped closer and whispered.

“You know the rules, and what he will do to you.”

Cathy paled, her body shivering, if Alphab get to know that she broke the rules, she will be severely punished. Get faster updates on g.com.

The cold stone floor bit into Cathy’s knees as she fell down, her voice trembling with a desperation.

“Please, my lady,” she begged, clutching at the hem of Eva’s dress.

“Don’t tell Alphab. I’ll do anything. What do you want from me?”

Eva didn’t pull away.

Instead, a slow, sharp smirk carved its way across her face, the look of a predator who had finally cornered its prey

“You will repay this debt in the future,” Eva whispered.

“And you will do so without a single question.”

Cathy nodded frantically, scrambled to her feet, and fled toward her chambers.

Eva watched her go, the silence of the corridor wrapping around her like a shroud.

“One down,” she murmured to the shadows.

Her web was nearly complete.

One by one, Eva had dismantled Alphab’s inner circle, unearthing the secrets they thought were buried.

But one man remained an island, Michael, a soldier with no vices, and a loyalist with no cracks in his trust.

Hours later, a firm knock echoed through Eva’s chambers.

Michael entered, his posture rigid.

Eva also got a sinister scheme in her mind.

“My lady, Alphab has decided to spend the night here,” he stated, his eyes fixed forward, professional and cold.

As he turned to depart, Eva moved with the speed of a strike.

She lunged, grabbing his hand and yanking him toward her.

She wound her arms around his waist, pinning him against her with jarring force.

“Somebody help!” she shrieked, the suddenness of it shattering the midnight quiet.

“Somebody help me! Get off me, Michael!”

Michael froze, his face a mask of sudden horror.

“My lady, what are you doing?”

She didn’t answer.

Instead, she kicked out, sending a glass vessel near the door shattering against the floor.

The echo was deafening.

She shoved a heavy chair, the wood scraping harshly against the table before it toppled with a crash.

“Somebody help!” she screamed again, her voice reaching a frantic, jagged pitch.

Then came the sound she was waiting for: the rapid, rhythmic click-clack of heavy boots charging down the hallway towards her door.
