The one thing that Micheal didn’t want to , was to reveal his identity as a vampire , it won’t endanger only him but the entire race.

”

The moment the tires crunched onto the gravel, the Vulture reached for his waistband.

He was slow, painfully, humanly slow.

To Michael, the man moved as if trapped in amber.

With a blur of motion that defied the laws of physics, Michael slapped the gun away before the Vulture’s brain could even register the threat.

Then, the hunger took over.

The masquerade shattered.

Michael’s fangs dropped, aching for the pulse.

The car became a cage of crimson.

It was over in seconds—a whirlwind of violence that left the Vulture a hollowed-out husk.

Michael exhaled, the metallic tang of blood cooling his rage.

“In your next life, don’t mess with people you don’t know!” He growled.

Then slowly opened the door and e out, as if nothing had just occurred, he adjusted his cufflinks, stepped out of the gory wreck, he jumped through the walls to the rooftop and vanished from the scene.

Meanwhile, the Alphab Mansion stood like a gothic fortress against the skyline.

Inside, the air was thick with the scent of ozone and ancient power.

Michael found his King, Alphab, pacing the marble floors of the inner sanctum, his footsteps echoing like thunder claps.

“You called for me, my King,” Michael said, bowing his head so low his chin brushed his chest.

The air shifted.

In a heartbeat, Michael was airborne.

Alphab’s hand was a vice around his throat, pinning him against the cold stone wall.

“How dare you?!” Alphab growled, his voice a vibration that rattled Michael’s very bones.

” How dare you betray me, Michael?”

“Please…

forgive me, my King,” Michael hissed, the grip on his windpipe making his words grate like sandpaper.

“She threatened me… she threatened her own life and the life of the unborn prince to force my hand. She is using the Prince as a weapon and I could let anything bad happen to both of them.”

The silence that followed was more terrifying than the fury.

Alphab’s grip didn’t loosen; it changed.

The fury transitioned from mindless rage to a focused, lethal intent.

He slammed Michael onto the floor, the marble cracking under the impact.

“How dare she?” Alphab’s voice was a low, guttural snarl that promised a reckoning.

“That woman has mistaken my silence and kindness for weakness. She has crossed the final line!”

Michael stayed on the floor, breathing heavily, but again, he remembered something that made his eyes widen and his heart beat so loud and hard.

” What of she tells Alphab about it?

I’ll be doomed!”

While Alphab’s fury didn’t just burn, it solidified into a cold, calculating malice.

“She thinks her pregnancy is a shield,” Alphab whispered, his voice like the crack of ice.

“She thinks that by carrying the next generation, she can do whatever she wants. She has forgotten that a King’s first duty is not to his heirs, but to the survival of the species.”

He looked back at Michael, his eyes now glowing with a faint, predatory red.

“Michael. You will not touch her. Not yet. We will let her believe her threats worked. while she sits plotting her next move.”

Alphab walked to a heavy desk and pulled out a small, ancient vial filled with a shimmering, silver liquid.

“She wants to play with lives? We will play with her reality. You are to return to her. Be the obedient dog she expects. But every night, you will slip a single drop of this into her wine. It is the Essence of the Lethe.”

Michael’s eyes widened.

He knew the legends of the Lethe—it didn’t kill, it erased.

Slowly, the victim would lose their memories, their sense of self, and eventually, the very knowledge of why they were fighting.

“By the time the prince is born,” Alphab continued, a cruel smile touching his lips, “she will not even remember her own name, let alone the threats she made against our kind. She will be a hollow vessel, and my son will be raised by those who truly understand what it means to be royalty.”

Everyone in the vampire clan knew one thing, and so did Micheal, their king Alphab didn’t care a bout Eva, all that mattered to him was the unborn child.

And not because he cared about him, rather, he was to him just a cure to his curse, the same curse he brought upon himself.

Alphab stepped closer, his presence overwhelming.

” Go.

Play your part.

And if you fail me again…

the Vulture’s fate will seem like a mercy compared to what I will do to you.”

Michael bowed, the weight of the vial heavy in his hand.

The retaliation had begun, and the mansion felt colder than it ever had before.

Michael bowed his head, the silver vial of Lethe heavy in his palm.

He knew what the King saw: a loyal soldier.

But as Michael looked at the shimmering liquid, he saw a death sentence for the unborn prince’s mother and a life of emotional isolation for the child.

Michael had spent decades hiding his own humanity, he couldn’t stand to see a child raised by a King who viewed family as nothing more than strategic assets.

As he returned to the woman’s quarters, his vampiric senses picked up the faint, double heartbeat—the mother’s frantic pulse and the steady, rhythmic thrum of the prince.

She was sitting by the fireplace, her face a mask of arrogance.

“Did you finish it?” she snapped, not looking up.

“It is done,” Michael replied, his voice a smooth, deceptive calm.

He poured her wine, slowly to the glass, his hands a little Shakey.

He looked nervous.

Slowly, he took the win to her.

“You look different, Michael,” she said, squinting as she took the glass.

resolute.”

“I have realized my true duty, mistress,” Michael said, bowing, yet his eyes were fixed on her .

“Will she drink it?” He thought.
