Killing Kevin wasn’t there only plan this time round, rather they were up to rapping him.
Well, not both of them, Ethan was never into men, but the other goon was into both men and women.
Ethan, holding a switchblade, was strictly focused on finishing the job, never one for men.
But the other goon was different.
His eyes, fixed on Kevin, were wide, reflecting a chaotic mix of lust and violence.
He wasn’t just interested in finishing their job, but he wanted to break him entirely.
Kevin was already shaking, his back against the cold green ground.
Before he could scream, the other goon approached him.
Within minutes, the expensive coat Kevin had worn was torn off, thrown into the grime.
He ripped the white designer shirt, buttons flying, leaving Kevin shivering in only his vest, trousers stripped away.
The fear in Kevin’s eyes was absolute, a silent scream for help.
Unbeknownst to them, Eva was watching from behind the tree.
She didn’t hesitate.
She had lived on these streets since she was a child, learning that the only law that mattered was survival.
Eva approached slowly and silently .
Just as the other goon moved closer, grinning, a shadow blurred past him.
“Thwack.”
Eva’s heel connected with the goon’s wrist forcing him to yell and stumble back.
She didn’t pause.
She used her momentum, a swift, flexible kick aimed at the second thug, Ethan, forcing him to drop his blade.
Though Eva was a woman, her upbringing had made her stronger and faster than them.
“Get away from him,” Eva hissed, her posture low and defensive, her hands held in a ready martial arts stance.
Glancing at Kevin who was laying on the ground naked , his glowing fairness shone and the body physic especially the six packs at his belly made her to blush and couldn’t take her eyes off him.
Eva immediately moved to Kevin, covering him with her own jacket, her eyes scanning the dark
“This is all your f*ckin fault idiot!, and don’t forget, the Marvins are powerful!, if we mass up, we will be doomed!
Just because of you!!
”
Ethan urged the other man not to make any more mistake
“It’s okay,” she said, her voice unexpectedly gentle despite the irritating words that Kevin’s said to her earlier.
“You’re safe now.”
She said, trying to cover up her guiltiness, she then took off the scarf she had wrapped over herself and gave it to him together with her jacket, so he could cover himself.
“Just having a night picnic in this lonely cruel night. Is this not what you wanted? Who hired you? Are you with them? How much did they pay you, huh? I will pay you ten times, you cheap whore!!”
He bitterly asked as he wrapped the scarf around his waist and wore the jacket, he was so shameful and helpless seeing who his savior was, a woman?
He felt like punching her on the face but as he glanced, his eyes saw a terrific thing, making him to shout loud.
“Watch out!…”
Unfortunately it was late, one of the robustly built thug towered her, with her feminine built, she couldn’t block the man’s attack.
Kevin’s was already traumatized with what was going to befall him, all he could do was to open his eye wide befuddledly.
Eva was given a powerful kick that sent her flying meters a way, he then retrieved the fallen glove.
Slowly the other goon approached her, dropped and sneered.
“Whoo–hoo…, Look what we got here! Much better than him, it’s gonna be fun….hahaha…” He chuckled as he slowly caressing her face gently with a lustful smile on his facade..
Ethan wasn’t happy, they would have already killed Kevin if not for the other man’s lustful impulses.
But it wasn’t time for arguments on who was right and wrong.
Ethan pulled a dagger from his pocket and approached Eva from behind
“Behind you!”
Eva did have time to react before the knife was stabbed in her slender stomach.
“Aah!!!” She screamed
Eva glared at his curled lower lips as he twisted the dagger again and again with a smirk of satisfaction on his face.
” Sorry miss, you were never meant to die by my dagger, you’re just in a wrong place at a wrong time!” He said.
” Blame it to your fate.” Ethan whispered to her before pulling out the blood stained dagger.
Blood splattered from her mouth, her jaws clenched and slowly she fell on the ground.
Wailing and yearning in pain, with her last breath, she grabbed Ethan’s legs and gritted her teeth, growling at Kevins.
“Run…..
my life is worthy nothing.
Save your self and don’t worry about me!
Eva smiled pitifully in pain at Kevins.
Ethan lowered his gaze towards Eva, he raised one of his strong leg , smashing Eva’s head hard that she dared not raise or make any body movement again.
Although she was so angry, she remained a honest and kind person as always.
“I wish in my next life not to be born under the same circumstances, but as a respected wealthy lady.” She said inwardly,
Her bitter smile slowly decomposed, a myriad of emotions, sourness, desolation and dispair.
Kevin fell down on the ground paralyzed, A spasm of fear crossed his face, his eyes widen , with his month agape that he still could move an inch.
With his pale face, he seemed to see through Eva’s inner fragility and sadness through her bitter smile, revealing a vulnerability that contrasted with her
Kevin watched Eva fall, a hollow ache blooming in his chest.
Despite the sharp words she’d thrown at him earlier, seeing her trade her life for his shattered something inside him.
It was a jagged, wrong-way-around reality, he was supposed to be the shield, not the one shivering on the ground while she bled out.
“Don’t waste your tears for her boy. You’re next!!” Ethan sneered.
Holding Eva by her long straight black hair, Ethan pulled her towards the nearby bush and damped her there.
Eva lay broken in a widening circle of crimson.
The earth beneath her was slick, turning her desperate struggle to rise into a cruel, clumsy dance.
