In the pitch-black darkness of the night, empty markets. Whispers of the tree leaves nearby mixed with the sound of night crickets.
People sleeping in their huts, some of them comfortable from the hardships of life under the comfort of dreams, while others their fears and sorrows followed them to their imaginary world turning their dreams into nightmares.
But inside one of the huts, in one of the beds, Jenny was tossing in her bed right and left unable to sleep.
She opened her eyes slowly looking at the ceiling, and after several moments passed Jenny got up from her bed heading toward the water jar with a face full of exhaustion.
She took a glass of water and began drinking. After finishing she turned behind to find that all the girls were sleeping in their beds while she was unable to sleep.
She began wiping her eyes while thinking: "I have not been able to sleep well for 5 days while they sleep this fast, this really bothers me."
She took a deep breath and headed toward the door exiting the hut.
To be received by the cold air breeze outside.
She began walking in the roads while the only thing illuminating the place was the faint moonlight.
She raised her head upward looking toward the moon in the sky and said in a low voice: "Just me and you as usual. Lonely as usual moon, you reflect the burning sunlight into a gentle light that illuminates the darknesses of the night."
After a period of walking she found a chair in front of one of the huts, she headed toward it and sat on it. She took a deep breath while looking toward the ground.
After several seconds, she raised her head toward the moon and said with a tired face: "Do you know moon? You are my only real friend. Whenever I am alone you are beside me... (a moment of silence) Do you remember the first time we met?"
She fell silent for several seconds for a light smile to appear on her tired face: "You still remember! Hehehe yes I looked stupid at the age of six."
Jenny closed her eyes recalling her memories at the age of 6, sitting in front of the door of her house (the cave) on a rainy night with a frowning face. The door was opened slowly for her father to exit from it. He looked toward her surprised: "What are you doing outside my little one? You will catch a cold."
Jenny looked toward her father and said in a sad tone: "Why are there no other people I can play with? I got tired of staying alone."
Expressions of worry appeared on the father's face. He remained silent for several seconds and feelings of tension flooded his body, he kept thinking about how to tell her the truth at this young age, until suddenly an idea came to him.

A light smile appeared on his face and he pointed toward the moon saying: "You are not alone, look at the moon, it is lonely in the sky shy it has no friends, what do you think about becoming its friend? It will be happy with that."
Expressions of surprise appeared on her face and she said: "Really?". The father patted her head and continued saying: "Of course, it is always present at night and even during the day sometimes, therefore you can talk to it all the time."
Slight expressions of happiness appeared on her face, and she directed her gazes toward the moon and said to it in a shy tone: "Mr. Moon, do you accept to become my friend?".
Silence prevailed over the place which made Jenny think that the moon does not want to be her friend, for expressions of sadness to appear on her face.
The father recovered the situation and changed the tone of his voice to a softer tone and tried not to open his mouth much so that Jenny would not notice that it was him speaking, and said: "Yes Jenny, I accept to be your friend."
Jenny directed her gazes toward the moon with wide eyes and a big smile while feelings of happiness filled her heart, and she said to it in an enthusiastic tone: "Thank you."

Jenny laughed a light laugh saying: "Hehehe I remember that I spent the entire night talking to you, those were the happiest days of my life."
Silence prevailed over the place while Jenny kept looking toward the moon, except that suddenly she heard the sound of footsteps from afar, which struck her with sudden terror. Her heartbeats accelerated and she directed her gaze toward the source of the sound quickly to see from afar Joseph walking toward some place.
When she found that it was Joseph she relaxed a little, but she was surprised by the reason for him also going out at night. "What is this? He startled me, why is he awake until this time? Is he also unable to sleep?"
A kind of curiosity came to her about what Joseph was doing, so she decided to go to him to ask him.
She headed toward the place he went to to find that he had disappeared.
The feeling of surprise and confusion increased for her while she wondered where he went.
She decided to head directly forward perhaps she would find him around. She continued advancing until she began hearing Joseph's voice behind one of the huts.
Jenny did not want to reveal herself, so she decided to peek at him from behind one of the huts from afar.
She showed part of her eyes to be able to see him while the rest of her body was behind the hut.
She found Joseph in front of the village wall looking toward it while talking with someone.
Jenny could not see the person because of the darkness, so she tried to focus on him but she could not.
She remained standing in her place for several minutes trying to know who the person he was talking with was.
The moonlight began heading toward the place where the unknown person was standing, and after a period of time passed the moonlight reached that person completely.
Upon Jenny seeing him, her heartbeats accelerated and expressions of shock and terror appeared on her face, she began moving away slowly carefully so that he would not hear her. After several seconds she moved away enough from them, then she headed quickly toward her hut, and the expressions of terror and shock were still on her face. After arriving she headed directly toward the bed trying to forget the thing she saw.
She remained terrified while looking toward the door, imagining that he might have noticed her and would enter upon her at any moment. Even though she looked toward him for a few seconds, she remembered his face clearly; a somewhat tall creature with a human head full in all its parts with human mouths with a skinny body whose bones appeared from under its skin, and on its shoulder small bones as if they were goat horns. Since Jenny saw this creature, she kept hearing incomprehensible whispers throughout the night, leaving her in a state of terror until the sunrise.
