73: Understanding Xue'er
"I mean, it's just meeting the Guild Leader, why are you dressing so formally?" Leticia Infinoi squinted her eyes as Bai Ling forcibly stuffed a set of clothes into her hands, speaking helplessly to the already beautifully dressed Bai Ling beside her. "People who don't know would think you're going on a blind date."
Bai Ling wore a very pretty white dress, one of the outfits that had been delivered a few days ago. Leticia reached out to touch it and found the texture of this dress to be first-rate.
The clothes Bai Ling had stuffed into Leticia's hands was that long dress she had labeled as 'definitely troublesome to put on.'
It was certainly beautiful, but putting it on would definitely be explosively complicated. At least a few days ago, Leticia knew that relying on herself alone, there was absolutely no way she could put on this dress.
"The Guild Leader is your good friend, of course we should dress nicely," Bai Ling said seriously. She and the Guild Leader had been chatting quite a bit these past days. "I also want to see what kind of girl the Guild Leader is."
In Bai Ling's view, the Guild Leader was very different from Leticia. Leticia simply didn't want to do things out of pure laziness.
But the Guild Leader seemed more enthusiastic. She was quite interested in gossip and such, like how the Guild Leader had been constantly asking Bai Ling what had happened between her and Leticia these past few days.
The answers Bai Ling gave differed from Leticia's only in some details, which made the Guild Leader even more convinced that there was something romantic between these two girls.
"The Guild Leader? She's definitely a girl similar to me—a shut-in internet-addicted girl," Leticia said as she took off her pajamas, looking at her naked self in the mirror and suddenly freezing for a moment.
Why could she so carelessly change clothes right under Bai Ling's nose?
"You, get out." Realizing her attitude should be a bit different, Leticia immediately covered her chest with clothes, then pointed at the door. "I'm changing clothes here."
Bai Ling tilted her head, wanting to get away with acting cute, but this girl really wasn't good at it. Her attempt at being cute was practically no different from crying.
"Even if you tilt your head three hundred sixty degrees, you still can't stay here today." Leticia chuckled, still trying to muddle through? You should look in the mirror and see what kind of mess you are.
Bai Ling simply wasn't cut out for acting cute. Besides, Leticia had long developed strong resistance to the 'cute' attribute.
After all, when Qila was little, she was much cuter than this white-haired girl. Even with her sister being so cute, didn't Leticia still strike without hesitation when necessary?
So acting cute in front of Leticia was like showing off your driving skills in front of an experienced driver—in one word, pointless.
"Now, immediately, right away, get out."
"Then how will you put on your clothes?" Bai Ling immediately found an excuse.
"Xue'er!" Leticia sneered and called for her exclusive maid.
A few seconds later, the maid poked her head through the door. "Your Majesty?"
"Kick this person out, then help me change clothes." Leticia indicated for Xue'er to quickly clear out the irrelevant personnel so she could change clothes in peace.
Xue'er's expression showed a moment of breakdown, as Leticia's current state was rather... provocative.
She wore nothing but underwear, and although Leticia used the large dress to cover her private areas, most of her snow-white skin was still brazenly exposed to the air.
How did it seem like Your Majesty only realized there was an irrelevant person in the room after taking off her clothes?
"Miss Bai, since Your Majesty has said so, please." Xue'er fully opened the door and said to Bai Ling, whose face was full of reluctance. "Going against a girl's wishes isn't good."
Bai Ling made a somewhat aggrieved "oh" sound and obediently walked out of Leticia's room.
Xue'er didn't go in directly either, but indicated she needed to wash her hands first before entering.
After getting Leticia's permission, Xue'er closed the door and turned toward Bai Ling. "Miss Bai, your recent behavior has been somewhat crossing the line."
"Ah?" Bai Ling was stunned. What did crossing the line mean?
She just wanted to build a good relationship with Leticia, with no other intentions.
"Your Majesty is a girl with quite a stubborn personality. Miss Bai's... er, rash behavior will only cause Your Majesty's disgust." Xue'er tried to make Bai Ling understand how perverted her behavior was.
"You can think about it—if someday Little Ya encountered someone who had the ability to freely enter and exit her room, and that person actually did so..."
"I..."
"But Little Ya really hated that person, yet that person ignored Little Ya's dislike and kept saying self-righteously that they just wanted to build a good relationship with Little Ya. Miss Bai, what would you do?"
Bai Ling fell silent. Some words had completely different meanings when spoken by Leticia versus when spoken by Xue'er. Words from Leticia's mouth made people doubt their authenticity.
But Xue'er's words carried full credibility.
If her sister were pestered like that, what would she do?
Need she even ask? Bai Ling would naturally choose to ensure her sister never had to worry about this problem again.
"Of course, I don't deny that Your Majesty seems to indeed have a bit of fondness for Miss Bai, but I believe that bit of fondness only exists because Your Majesty has no resistance to pretty girls." Xue'er deliberately lowered her voice, afraid that Leticia might hear her words.
After all, she was practically saying outright that Leticia was shallow about appearances.
"Miss Xue'er means..."
"Could you please not casually barge into Your Majesty's room anymore? Even if you want to meet with Your Majesty, please use more normal methods." Xue'er said very seriously. "For example, knocking before entering."
Short-distance teleportation was for escaping and attacking, not for visiting.
"Mm, okay." Bai Ling nodded dejectedly. She could ignore Leticia's words, but she couldn't ignore words spoken so seriously by Xue'er.
"If you continue as before, even if Your Majesty doesn't say anything, I will suggest Your Majesty move somewhere else to live." Xue'er said softly. "Human cities are still quite large—there's always somewhere we can live peacefully."
"Xue'er, hurry up, I'm about to freeze to death!" Leticia's voice came from inside the door, interrupting the conversation between Xue'er and Bai Ling.
Xue'er smiled apologetically. "I hope Miss Bai can seriously consider what I've said. None of us want to make our relationship too strained, right?"
