13 – You Are So Impressive! Unifying the Metaphysics World
Shang Lu immediately slapped his forehead. “Right, I forgot about that!”
He turned excitedly to face Su Jiaojiao.
“Ancestor, there really aren’t any!”
“As you know, little demons like us with meager demonic power would definitely suffer backlash if we told fortunes for people every day and revealed heavenly secrets! Everyone comes down the mountain seeking freedom and happiness—who wants to bring suffering upon themselves?”
“So no one actually becomes a mystic arts master if it damages their own cultivation!”
“But you’re different, Ancestor!”
“You’ve lived for thousands of years and have already cultivated five tails. Telling fortunes for mortals won’t bring any backlash at all!”
“As soon as you make your move, you’ll dominate the entire mystic arts world!”
Su Jiaojiao finally found a field where she could showcase her formidable power and was in a rather good mood.
Hearing Shang Lu’s flattery, she merely glanced at him sideways.
What would she want with dominating the mystic arts world?
Not interested.
“I came down the mountain this time to find a noble person with an extremely auspicious fate to shelter me, so I can safely pass the heavenly thunder tribulation while growing my sixth tail.”
“So, I just need to make a name for myself in the mystic arts world, attract a few people with noble fates to actively befriend me, and by the time the heavenly thunder descends two months from now, I can take refuge in their home. That’s all I need to achieve.”
She shook her head. “Unifying the mystic arts world? I’m not that idle.”
Hearing the Ancestor’s words, Shang Lu couldn’t help but sigh.
It’s all because the Heavenly Dao is biased, really.
Among all things in the world, only humans are considered the most spiritual beings, favored by the Heavenly Dao.
Only by taking shelter in the mortal realm during her tribulation and finding a noble person full of auspicious aura would the heavenly thunder reduce its power out of consideration for that person, sparing the Ancestor’s life.
Otherwise, why would the Ancestor, who rarely leaves the mountain, ever come down from Cuiping Mountain to the mortal realm?
Su Jiaojiao slightly lifted her chin. “Alright, you can go back now. I’ll call you if I need anything.”
Shang Lu bowed respectfully. “Ancestor, this junior takes his leave!”
Su Jiaojiao watched as Shang Lu left the presidential suite, then stood up and went to the room Su Tuantuan had slipped into earlier to look for him.
“He disappeared as soon as he slipped in. Could he have fallen asleep?”
She walked gracefully to the door and pushed it open.
She scanned the room, but there was no one in sight.
After walking around the room, she arrived by the window.
Looking at the slightly cracked window, she crossed her arms and sneered at the traffic below.
“Su Tuantuan, you’re something else!”
“Just wait until Mommy finds you. You, the clever one, are so dead!”
With a stern expression, she turned and walked out of the room.
She shared a bloodline connection with Su Tuantuan. No matter how far that little thing ran, she could sense him!
Now, she was going to find him!
And when she brought him back, she’d spank his little bottom until it was sore!
…
Meanwhile.
Just as Su Tuantuan quietly slipped down the hotel pipes to the ground floor, Fu Shangbai also emerged from the hotel.
Having been teased so thoroughly by Su Jiaojiao earlier, his face was extremely grim, and he radiated a chilling aura.
Even after stepping out of the elevator and exiting the hotel, his expression remained cold.
Secretary Zhu had been as quiet as a cicada in winter the whole way. Now, he stole a glance at Fu Shangbai, cleared his throat softly, and whispered.
“Third Master, the place we agreed to meet the Ning Family is right across the street. Shall we go in and wait?”
Fu Shangbai looked up at the restaurant’s logo featuring a white-bearded old man, took a black mask from his pocket, and put it on.
“Let’s go.”
The two walked one after the other toward the street opposite.Fu Shangbai hadn’t lied to Shang Lu earlier; he truly had come to Tongcheng to find someone.
Old Master Fu had a six-year-old illegitimate child, born to a nanny who had already passed away. The child was left with relatives, suffering mistreatment and living a lonely, pitiful life.
As far as Fu Shangbai was concerned, his mother had divorced Old Master Fu over a decade ago. The old master having an illegitimate child with the nanny seven years ago hadn’t wronged anyone.
Since the child was alone and helpless, it was only right to bring him back to the Fu family.
The Fu family was wealthy and influential enough; they certainly could afford to raise one child.
Besides, he had no intention of marrying or having children in this lifetime. Bringing that child back to the Fu family wouldn’t affect any “wife or children” of his.
The two soon entered the KFC.
Secretary Zhu went to order food, while Fu Shangbai walked with steady, elegant steps toward a window seat.
He was like a beam of light. The moment he appeared, the pretty young girls who had been looking around in the shop fixed their eyes on him, unable to look away.
Even though he wore a mask covering half of his handsome face, his deep black eyes, his fine eyebrows and full forehead, his noble and elegant demeanor, and the aura of aloofness he carried as he walked still allowed those girls to recognize him as a strikingly handsome man.
Their eyes widened in awe, and they covered their mouths, exchanging meaningful glances!
Wow, wow, wow! So handsome, so handsome, so handsome!
I want to flirt with him!
Who’s going first?
If no one goes, then I will!
Just as Fu Shangbai wiped the seat clean with a tissue and sat down, a bold young girl, blushing, came over to strike up a conversation.
“Little brother…”
The girl stood in front of his table, calling out to him softly.
He raised his head indifferently, his voice deep and pleasant but exuding endless coldness. “Not ‘little brother,’ but ‘uncle.'”
The girl glanced at the half of his face that was visible and shook her head in disbelief. “I bet you’re definitely not twenty-five yet, little brother.”
Fu Shangbai glanced at her. He was already twenty-seven this year.
He didn’t respond further, instead gazing indifferently out the floor-to-ceiling window.
Undeterred by his coldness, the girl took out her phone, bent down, and asked with a smile, “Little brother, can I have your contact info?”
Fu Shangbai replied coolly, “No. If you have business matters, speak to my secretary later.”
The girl was taken aback. Secretary?
She carefully examined Fu Shangbai’s clothes and only then realized they seemed different from what she and her friends wore—likely high-end, custom-made fabric tailored by hand…
The girl then looked at the wristwatch visible on Fu Shangbai’s arm.
At a glance, her pupils contracted!
Wasn’t that the limited-edition noble watch, with only twenty pieces available worldwide?
Realizing this was someone far beyond her league, the girl timidly withdrew her phone, lowered her head, and apologized, “Sorry for bothering you.”
She quietly returned to her seat, covered her face, and typed a message on her phone to show the other eager girls.
[Don’t embarrass yourselves. Even if we combined our lifetime salaries, it still wouldn’t match the price of his watch.]
Seeing this message, the other girls also gave up.
Out of their league, completely out of their league!
With no further disturbances, Fu Shangbai finally had some peace and quiet.
His gaze inadvertently drifted, and through the floor-to-ceiling window, he spotted a small, snow-white creature quietly and obediently crouching across the street. It’s unclear whether it’s a Pomeranian or a real fox—round and plump, crouching there like a fluffy snowball.
Right now, it’s gazing with its big, round eyes at the passing stream of cars.
When a car drives to the left, its little head follows, turning left.
When a car drives to the right, its little head follows, turning right.
If someone in a car waves at it, it even raises a paw and adorably waves back.
