17 – Dare to Oppose Mother, and You Will Die
Two minutes later, Su Jiaojiao returned to the presidential suite via the elevator.
Following Shang Lu’s instructions, she swiped the keycard to open the door.
As soon as she entered, she saw that little creature Su Tuantuan scurrying around the room, dragging his fluffy long tail behind him!
It seemed he had noticed her absence, panicked, and was frantically searching for her everywhere!
Hearing the sound of the door opening, the little creature turned his head.
Seeing his mother had returned, his large, dark eyes instantly lit up. Then, with his hind legs kicking back, he leaped forward and threw himself into Su Jiaojiao’s arms!
“Mother!”
The little one excitedly nuzzled against her chest, muttering, “Where did you go? Did you go out to play with Shang Lu? Hmph, Mother didn’t take Tuantuan along. When Tuantuan came back and couldn’t find you, I was so scared!”
“Hah.”
Su Jiaojiao sneered, grabbing the little creature by the scruff of his neck and lifting him to eye level.
“Don’t you know why I didn’t take you? Tell me, where did you run off to just now?”
Su Tuantuan blinked, relying on the fact that his mother didn’t know about the mischief he had caused on the street, and feigned innocence nonchalantly. “I didn’t go anywhere, just took a little stroll nearby.”
Su Jiaojiao looked down at him. “Oh? Then what’s with the human scent all over you? Who held you?”
Su Tuantuan stiffened.
He quickly lowered his head to sniff his fur.
Oh no!
He forgot to groom himself—there was still that uncle’s scent on him!
He slowly raised his head, looking innocently at his mother. “I… I was hungry. I saw Brother Shang Lu and Mother chatting, so I thought I’d go down to find some food myself… Then, in the shop across the street, a kind uncle fed me a chicken leg, and I stayed in his arms for just a little while…”
Hearing this, Su Jiaojiao narrowed her eyes.
She poked the little one’s forehead in annoyance. “Why are you so greedy? You dare eat anything from anyone. Aren’t you afraid you’ll lose your little life one day from eating something you shouldn’t?”
Su Tuantuan hung his head dejectedly. “I’ve already learned my lesson.”
Su Jiaojiao raised an eyebrow. “What happened?”
Su Tuantuan said fearfully, “The uncle who fed me meat thought I was super cute and really wanted to keep me! But the brother across from him said that if he wanted to keep me, he’d have to neuter me first… Wuwuwu, humans are so scary! How could they neuter someone as cute as Tuantuan? Big bad guys!”
Su Jiaojiao burst out laughing.
She ruffled the little one’s drooping head. “Did you beat them up?”
Su Tuantuan shook his head, snuggling into his mother’s arms. “There were too many people there. I didn’t dare fight, afraid of exposing our monster identity… I just… just swatted him once with my tail…”
Su Jiaojiao chuckled. “Since you got your revenge, it’s fine.”
She warned again, “Now that you’ve been scared, behave from now on. Stay close to Mother and don’t run around everywhere!”
She flicked his forehead. “Since it’s your first time in the human world, you probably don’t know this yet. Humans not only like to neuter Tuantuan, but they also like to skin Tuantuan’s beautiful fur to make scarves, and some even like to eat fox meat!”
Su Tuantuan’s large eyes widened in terror!
How could they do that?
He wrapped his big tail around himself and buried himself deeper into his mother’s arms. “Tuantuan will behave from now on and never run around again!”
Su Jiaojiao glanced down at him, a satisfied smile curling at the corners of her lips.If I don’t scare you a little, you won’t know your place!
“How much meat did that uncle give you? Are you hungry now?”
As she asked, she reached out to feel her son’s little belly.
Round and full—probably not hungry.
Just as she thought this, she heard her son leaning against her chest, answering weakly, “Hungry…”
Hearing that feeble voice as if he were about to starve to death, she looked up at her son with a half-smile. Gently patting his round belly, she asked, “What did you say?”
Su Tuantuan blinked his big eyes, felt his own belly, and then felt a bit embarrassed.
His innocent big eyes met his mother’s gaze for three seconds before he took a deep breath and sucked in his belly. “Mother, feel it again! You didn’t feel it properly just now!”
Su Jiaojiao looked at him with a smile, her hand unmoving.
He was very insistent, using his two little paws to eagerly grab his mother’s fingers and place them on his belly.
His eyes sparkled as he looked at his mother. “Mother, is Tuantuan hungry? Isn’t he?”
“Uh…” How could Su Jiaojiao not see through this little fatty’s tricks?
Seeing how hard this little fatty was trying for a bite to eat, she shook her head helplessly and took out a fragrant roasted chicken from her inner space.
All foxes have their own inner space.
The higher a fox’s cultivation, the larger the space.
Her space was over a thousand cubic meters, while a little fox like Su Tuantuan only had a space of about ten cubic meters.
Before leaving Cuiping Mountain, she had filled her space with several large baskets of roasted, grilled, steamed, and stewed chicken, as well as several baskets of hard-boiled eggs.
All prepared for her son, Tuantuan.
This little fatty especially loved eating chicken.
Sure enough, as soon as he saw the roasted chicken Su Jiaojiao took out, the little fatty wagged his tail excitedly!
Su Jiaojiao tore off a chicken leg for him.
The overjoyed little fat fox froze. Holding the chicken leg with his little paws, he looked somewhat bewildered and incredulous. “Only one chicken leg?”
Su Jiaojiao raised an eyebrow. “What else? Give you the whole thing and let you eat until you burst?”
The little fat fox stared at his mother with a pitiful expression for three seconds, then jumped out of her arms with the chicken leg in his mouth.
Ignoring his mother.
Bad mother!
He jumped to the floor-to-ceiling window, turning his back to his mother, and began munching on the chicken leg.
As he ate, he thought, Mother isn’t as indulgent as that uncle!
With just a little bit of coaxing, that uncle would gently give in. But no matter how much he tried to coax his mother, she remained as hard-hearted as iron, unmoved…
Thinking of that uncle, Tuantuan slowed down his chewing.
He recalled the scene of that uncle fiercely chasing him.
Hmm, was that uncle really at odds with Mother?
He turned to look at his mother, who was sitting elegantly on the sofa.
Taking a deep breath, he mustered up the courage to ask, “Mother, do you have any enemies in the human world?”
Su Jiaojiao turned to look at him, a faint smile curling her lips. “What are enemies? Anyone who dares to oppose me, I won’t let them live in this world. What do you think?”
Tuantuan thought, it seemed that uncle wasn’t Mother’s enemy.
He asked again, “Then, Mother, have you ever owed someone something in the human world, something they’ve been holding onto?”
Hearing this, Su Jiaojiao’s eyelashes trembled slightly.
A creditor…
There was indeed one of those. She admitted honestly, “Yes, your mother owes something to someone from before and hasn’t given it back yet, so your mother does have a creditor. Why, do you want to help your mother repay the debt?”
“Uh…” Su Tuantuan blinked her big eyes—so it really was a creditor?
No wonder earlier in front of the elevator, when that uncle asked for her mother’s name, her mother deliberately acted flirtatious and teased him—clearly, she didn’t dare say it!
If she had said it, he would have come to collect the debt!
