15 – Chapter 15
“You made me wait too long, Little Peach.”
When A Tao woke up, she found herself lying on an unfamiliar large bed. Feeling somewhat dizzy, she unconsciously let out a soft whimper: “Mmm…”
Before she could even survey her surroundings, a deep male voice sounded by her ear.
“You made me wait too long, Little Peach.”
She saw a man with a black silk ribbon covering his eyes lying sideways half a meter away from her, propping his head up with one hand and facing her direction.
His face appeared calm and expressionless, and since she couldn’t observe his eyes, it seemed impossible to determine whether he posed any danger at the moment.
But A Tao wasn’t afraid.
“Duan Yuan? Is this your home?”
“Mhm.” Duan Yuan shifted slightly and instantly closed the distance to the fragrant young girl, leaving less than a fist’s space between them.
The distinct masculine scent washed over her with an intense pressure. Just as A Tao shifted her hips backward slightly, the man opposite detected this small movement and immediately grasped the young girl’s waist: “Afraid only now? Seems it’s too late – I’ve caught you.”
With a pair of large masculine hands resting on her waist, A Tao shrank back: “I think it’s already very late, we should get more rest.”
A Tao recalled the illustrated novels she had read before.
When a man and woman typically reached this kind of situation, something would usually happen next…
But her current body, though having gained some flesh, still hadn’t fully developed overall, completely lacking the appearance an 18-year-old adult should have. Worried this man might have ill intentions, and knowing her current strength couldn’t resist him, A Tao kept reminding him: “I’m all bones, last time you even said I was bony and uncomfortable…”
“Oh? And so?” The man remained unmoved, as if completely failing to understand the meaning behind A Tao’s words, even extending his other hand to stroke A Tao’s head.
His large hand slid from her crown down to her hair, where Duan Yuan picked up a strand to play with between his fingers.
With one hand on her waist and another holding her hair, from any perspective it looked as if the man was tightly holding the young girl in his embrace.
“So certain things can’t be done now.” A Tao replied with a serious expression and righteous tone, simultaneously retrieving her hair from the man’s hand.
“Heh heh heh…” Duan Yuan seemed unable to hold back any longer, his chest vibrating slightly with light laughter as if greatly amused. “Then tell me, when should we do it?”
“Uh…” A Tao shut her eyes tightly and pretended to sleep.
Duan Yuan laughed again: “You young girls really have quite imaginative minds, who knows where you learn these things… Don’t worry, I’m not that kind of person.”
“Then why did you bring me here?” A Tao muttered softly with pouted lips.
Perhaps because the handsome man was too good-looking, A Tao had enough patience and tolerance toward him – it seemed nothing he did could make her angry…
Moreover, the man currently radiated an indescribable, intense aura that made A Tao unable to resist acting coquettishly before him, completely losing the authoritative presence she had at the Lin family.
But A Tao didn’t overthink it – matters between men and women shouldn’t be analyzed too carefully anyway, they should be navigated by feeling…Soon, the large hand at her waist shifted to a new location, as if aware of A Tao’s pouting, gently pinching her moist lips.
A Tao made a sound of protest, and the man quickly released them, instead giving her cheek a soft squeeze before moving his arm…
“My chef told me you haven’t been eating properly?” Duan Yuan paused briefly, “I came to check on you.”
But the young girl no longer appeared as frail as she had during their previous encounters days ago—she had clearly gained some weight. He furrowed his brows: “Is their cooking not to your liking?”
One moment the man’s voice was deep and magnetic, but the next it carried a chilling sharpness that could freeze one to the core.
It seemed that if A Tao expressed dissatisfaction with the food, those cooks would face dire consequences.
“No, it’s just that I don’t have much appetite myself.”
“Then what would you like to eat? I’ll have someone prepare it for you.” Duan Yuan’s tone softened as he awaited her response.
“Well… I’m not really picky. I usually just drink the dew collected from peach blossoms—the flavor is best around 5 or 6 in the morning. Some nectar is fine too… though it’s a bit too sweet on its own. It’s best when mixed with the dew… Oh, and the peach blossom petals from April and May make rather nice wine too.”
