“Miss Yu, pregnancy is not recommended for heart transplant surgery!”
Yu Sheng clutched the medical report in her hand, her large black eyes widening like ripe grapes. Her fair, delicate face was filled with utter astonishment!
The doctor’s words struck her like two thunderbolts.
She remained frozen for a long moment, staring blankly at the female doctor before her. When she finally spoke, her voice carried a tremble she didn’t even notice herself.
“What heart transplant?”
Wait!
She was pregnant!
Fortunately, the doctor remained patient while explaining to the pregnant woman.
“Previously, your parents brought you in for tissue matching. The results showed you’re a match with your sister and can proceed with heart transplantation. But now that you’re…”
Yu Sheng walked out of the consultation room in a daze.
Six years ago.
With one DNA test report from the Yu family, she had become the fake heiress who stole the cuckoo’s nest.
They found their biological daughter but refused to help her find her own birth parents, even forbidding her from leaving the Yu family.
They boldly declared, “The Yu family raised you in luxury for fifteen years. Now it’s time for you to repay us.”
Overnight.
She fell from being the esteemed eldest daughter of the Yu family to becoming a pitiful figure everyone bullied.
She became a toy their biological daughter could vent her frustrations on whenever she was angry or displeased.
And now.
They even wanted her heart!
Yu Sheng slowly raised her hand to wipe the tears from her cheeks, her lips curling into a bitter, mocking smile.
The smile never reached her eyes.
Yu Sheng let out a cold laugh. Though she looked soft and innocent, she was far from weak!
The best way to deal with a bunch of lunatics was to be crazier than them!
Wiping the tears from the corner of her eyes, she found a number in her blacklist and dialed.
“Mr. Wen, I… I’m pregnant!”
The man on the other end of the line seemed stunned. “What???”
Hearing his response, Yu Sheng didn’t feel angry, merely stating calmly, “The child is yours. If you don’t believe me, you can use any method to verify it!”
Wen Zhuqing, who was in the middle of a meeting, suddenly recalled the events of that night. The image of the girl’s delicate, pitiful appearance flashed before his eyes—especially those eyes, dark as obsidian, round and bright.
Afterward.
He not only left his business card to express his responsibility but also found her university and contact information.
However, Yu Sheng seemed determined to avoid mentioning that night, consistently evading him.
She even blocked his contact information.
Wen Zhuqing thought they would go their separate ways from then on.
He never expected that when he finally heard from Yu Sheng again, it would be…
“Send me your location. I’ll come pick you up!”
After hanging up, Yu Sheng went to the restroom to wash her face. The slight redness around her eyes betrayed that she had been crying.
Before she could fully compose herself, her phone rang again. Seeing the contact name displayed on the screen—[Dad]—she suppressed the anger in her heart and answered.
Coincidentally, Yu Sheng wanted to hear what else the couple had to say.
The moment the call connected, her father’s furious voice burst through the receiver. “Have you no shame? How could you be so indiscreet? Tell me, who is the father?”
Hah~
They already knew about her pregnancy? So quickly?
But of course. They were so eager for their precious daughter’s tissue matching to succeed—naturally, they would monitor her every move.
The tissue matching was successful, but the heart transplant surgery couldn’t proceed due to her pregnancy.
Naturally, this would provoke fury.
Before Yu Sheng could respond, her mother answered the phone, feigning a gentle tone as she spoke with her.
“Yu Sheng, it’s okay to make mistakes sometimes. You’re still young. Let’s terminate this pregnancy and promise not to do anything foolish again.”
It was always like this.
One playing the good cop, the other the bad cop!
The moment she agreed with her mother, they would instantly reveal their true vicious faces and torment her mercilessly.
Hadn’t it always been this way over the years?
Thinking this, Yu Sheng deliberately changed her tone to test them.
“But I just consulted the doctor. Yu Jiaojiao’s condition hasn’t worsened. We can completely wait until after I give birth to perform the surgery!”
“Moreover, the doctor said I have difficulty conceiving. If I lose this child, I might never get pregnant again…”
Before she could finish, her mother exploded like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. All pretense of gentleness vanished as she screamed hysterically.
“You’re only losing a child, but your sister would have to endure months of suffering!”
“So what if you can’t have children? A wretched creature like you even thinks about becoming a mother? Pah! We’ve housed and fed you well – we only want your heart, not your life!”
“If you dare disobey, get out of the Yu family!”
Oh?
That would be exactly what I want!
Yu Sheng chuckled softly, hung up the phone, and added the number labeled “Parents” to her blacklist.
Ever since Yu Jiaojiao returned, hadn’t they been constantly scheming about how to take her life?
Her most urgent task now was to escape the Yu family.
In Rongcheng, the Yu family possessed wealth and power she could never contend with before.
Now, the father of this child was her best ally.
She gently stroked her flat abdomen and whispered.
“Baby~ Thank you for choosing me as your mother. I’ll protect you with all my strength. No one can harm either of us!”
Just after leaving the hospital, she encountered Wen Zhuqing at the main entrance.
The man was nothing like his name suggested – neither gentle as jade nor elegant like a refined gentleman. On the contrary, rumors depicted him as ruthless and unpredictable.
Dealing with him was no different from making a pact with a tiger.
As the car window slowly descended, the man’s strikingly handsome, pale face instantly captured her vision.
Even with mental preparation, Yu Sheng couldn’t help her heart trembling repeatedly. He was truly too handsome.
His eyes behind silver-rimmed glasses held a cold, almost inhuman detachment. After giving Yu Sheng a indifferent glance, his gaze settled on her abdomen.
Yu Sheng quickly passed the medical report through the window.
That single glance already made cold sweat break out on her back.
This man was truly terrifying.
Wen Zhuqing took the report and studied it for a few seconds. No one could tell what he was thinking when his cool voice broke the silence.
“Get in the car!”
Yu Sheng hurriedly circled around to open the door and sat in the back seat, instinctively leaning toward the door to put as much distance between them as possible.
She had no idea whether he would let her keep this child.
Hehe~ Still a sweet, non-angsty age-gap romance
PS: The story will feature many sweet daily moments of Mr. Wen’s prenatal education, inspired by my own life experiences.
