I shoved him away, and we both gasped for air, the tension in the room was thick enough to touch.

He catches me in time before I could even stumble on the cold floor.

We’ve locked eyes together and his hand slipped underneath the lingerie as he claimed my lips in a swift motion.

My hand cut through the space between us, slapping him hard across the face.

“Leave!” I snapped.

His thick brows creased, his eyes gleaming with a mix of desperation and longing that I couldn’t quite decipher.

“You hear me? I said leave!” I shouted.

His expression turned cold and serious as his senses came back together.

“You might still be in shock, Savannah” he said, his voice straining for a calm he clearly didn’t feel.

“It’s been a week since you regain yourself and not because of that I’ll let everything passed smoothly” He turned and stormed out, the door clicking shut with a finality that left me trembling.

His authoritative voice kept repeating into my ears as if he was implying me to obey.

Madness flushed through me, leaving a lingering sense of terror in its wake.

“W-what just happened?” I muttered to the empty room.

I gripped my hair and let out a muffled scream of frustration.

A sharp groan escaped my throat as a sudden pain shot straight through my unhealed wound.

“Aaackk! Damn it!”

I squinted, trying to adjust to the darkness.

Everything was dim and silent, save for the bright moonlight cutting through the window in stark, silver lines.

It had been a week since I woke up, and the walls were starting to close in.

Holding my breath, I swung my legs over the edge and stepped onto the cold floor.

The chill stung my bare feet, grounding me.

I tiptoed to the door and leaned my ear against the wood, listening for any sign of life in the hallway.

Clear.

A rush of adrenaline hit my chest as the door creaked open.

I tripped forward, nearly losing my balance when a dark, domineering figure materialized out of the shadows.

Before I could hit the floor, strong arms caught me, pulling me flush against a hard chest.

His face stopped mere inches from mine.

The cold, serious weight of his gaze made my knees quiver.

“Where do you think you’re going?” he asked, his voice a low, dangerous vibration.

“I-I… I just wanted to get some water,” I lied, my voice shaking despite my best efforts.

He raised an eyebrow, his expression mocking.

“Am I an idiot to believe such an insolent excuse?”

I rolled my eyes, trying to piece my composure back together.

Shoving against his chest, I yanked the door and slammed it shut, the sound echoing through the quiet room.

“Never mind!” I retorted, marching straight back to the bed and diving under the covers.

I groaned in dismay, burying my face in the pillows.

“Just leave!” I snapped.

I heard the door click shut, and I finally let out the breath I’d been holding.

Suddenly, the mattress shifted heavily.

A large, warm hand clamped around my waist and yanked me backward.

The bridge of his nose poked against my nape, his hot breath fanning across my skin, sending a violent shiver down my spine.

I writhed, trying to pull away, but he was like a mountain—unyielding and overwhelming.

My body was still far too weak after days of unconsciousness to put up a real fight.

“Stop shifting against me, Savannah,” he growled, his voice thick with a hunger that terrified and exhilarated me at the same time.

I hissed, my face burning.

“I’m still regaining my strength, Keegan!”

Oh, fuck.

Why did I say that?

It sounded more like a challenge than a refusal. This chapter is updated first at g.com.

A soft, dark chuckle vibrated against my back.

“Does that mean you’ll be ready soon…?”

“NO!!!” I shouted, twisting around to glare at him.

Wait.

Why was he acting like this?

The air between us felt charged, electric, and entirely too real to be another hallucination.

My heart hammered against my ribs.

“What are you doing?”

Keegan didn’t answer with words.

He pinned me to the soft mattress, his heavy physique trapping me underneath him.

The intensity in his eyes was blinding.

“You seem well enough now,” he murmured, his gaze locking onto mine.

Before I could process the words, his lips crashed onto mine.

The kiss was deliberate, impulsive, and heavy with a long-simmering demand.

My hands pressed against his broad chest, but my strength was failing, replaced by a heat that spread from the point where we touched.

“You’re mine, Savannah. Only mine,” he claimed, his voice a possessive rasp against my skin.

By the time his mouth claimed mine again, my resistance began to melt.

The sheer urgency of his touch was intoxicating, a drug I didn’t know I was addicted to.

Unconsciously, my hands slid up to tangle in his hair, pulling him closer as the world outside the room ceased to exist.

He pulled me up, setting me firmly onto his lap.

The intimacy was overwhelming, a collision of desperate need and unspoken promises.

Every touch felt like a brand, marking me as his in the shadows of the moonlit room.

I lost myself in the sensation of him, the intoxicating scent of leather and spice, and the raw power he exerted over my senses.

As the night deepened, the boundary between us blurred, leaving only the heat of our bodies and the frantic beating of our hearts.

“I’ll take care of everything, my Queen,” he whispered against my lips, his voice a promise of total surrender.

In that moment, under the watchful eye of the full moon, I knew there was no escaping him—and a part of me didn’t want to.

Woopps, do they already develop something?
