I bit my lip, trying to think of a way out of this situation.

It had been half an hour since Keegan left, and I was finally about to reach for the doorknob when the door suddenly burst open.

For one terrifying second, I thought Keegan had returned.

My heart began pounding rapidly, and a cold shiver ran through my body.

But it wasn’t him.

A woman who looked to be in her forties entered the room.

She carried a set of pajamas, some undergarments, and a packet of sanitary pads.

I stared at the items in confusion.

She gave me an assuring look before placing everything on the nearby table.

I hesitated.

There were so many questions running through my mind, but embarrassment kept me from asking them.

I opened my mouth.

“M-May I know h-how you knew about my?” I finally asked.

“Master Keegan told me,” she replied.

“This is the first time he has ever cared enough to prepare something for a woman he brought here.”

Before I could respond, she turned toward the door.

Lot’s of questions rummage through my mind.

“I should go, Milady. Otherwise, he might punish me for staying here too long. I’m sorry, but I can’t answer any of your questions.”

She left before I could say another word.

I stared at the closed door.

Something about her answer bothered me.

I took the clothes into the bathroom and had a quick bath.

The warm water helped me calm my nerves, even if only for a moment.

After changing into the pajamas, I stepped out.

I stopped midway and immediately froze.

Keegan was lying on the bed.

His back was turned toward me, and his head was buried in the pillow.

I nearly screamed.

My heart jumped as I instinctively pulled my arms close to myself.

Then he turned his head.

His expression was impatient.

He stretched his neck before looking directly at me.

“What took you so long?” he asked.

His voice echoed through the room.

What’s happening to me?

I’ve never been this nervous in my life.

What the hell, Agent Beltran?

Pull yourself together.

“I was taking a bath,” I retorted.

Before I could take another step, he suddenly grabbed my arm and lifted me off the floor.

“Hey!” He carried me toward the bed and placed me on the mattress.

I immediately pushed myself backward, putting distance between us.

His expression hardened.

I refused to look intimidated.

I couldn’t afford to.

His hand moved toward my sleeve, but I quickly caught his wrist and stopped him.

He raised an eyebrow.

And I swallowed hard as his expression don’t fail to make me intimidated.

I didn’t know how to explain it without making the situation even more awkward.

Then I remembered the sanitary pads.

Maybe this was my only way out.

“I-I’m on my period,” I blurted.

Heat rushed to my face and it was already wrecking the hell out of me.

I immediately covered my face with both hands, unwanted to look at him.

For several seconds, there was silence.

Then he sighed.

“Dont flutter yourself cause I won’t do it carefully. I’m used to hard sex woman.” he retorted.

Doesn’t he even felt ashamed for any second?

I lowered my hands just in time to see him move away and lie down beside me.

I released a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding till earlier.

But my relief didn’t last long.

His hand suddenly pulled me closer.

I stiffened.

His grip kept me from moving freely, and every muscle in my body tensed afraid that I might push him any further.

“Don’t even think about running away,” he warned.

“I have trouble sleeping, so don’t assume you can simply slip away while I’m unconscious.”

I rolled my eyes.

Great.

Just great.

For the next hour, I remained completely tense.

I couldn’t get comfortable, and his grip made it nearly impossible to move.

Eventually, I turned my head to check whether he was asleep.

His eyes were closed.

For the first time, I noticed how different he looked when he wasn’t angry and holding his extremely strict authority.

The usual fierceness, impatience, and authority had disappeared from his face.

He almost looked peaceful.

Almost.

But even in any chance that wouldn’t happen.

I slapped my face from whatever was running around my mind.

Hey!

He was a Ciffarelli!

The one who killed your own mother.

Then his eyes suddenly opened.

I froze and my heart started beating rapidly along with my throat being dried and silent.

His eyebrows drew together.

“What are you doing?”

I tried to move away, but he immediately caught me.

“Are you trying to provoke me?” he asked, his voice dangerously calm.

“In your dreams!” I snapped.

“I can’t sleep because you’re holding me so tightly!”

His expression changed.

The room suddenly felt colder.

Without warning, he grabbed me roughly, and panic shot through me.

I struggled against his grip until he finally released me.

I immediately pulled away, coughing and trying to steady my breathing.

His eyes remained fixed on me.

“You tried to escape, didn’t you?” His piercing deep baritone voice shot through the air like a thunder.

“No!” I protested.

“I wasn’t—” He didn’t let me finish.

He stormed toward the other side of the room and grabbed a vase.

CRASH!!!

The vase shattered against the floor.

I flinched and covered my ears.

His expression was filled with anger.

A few seconds later, the door flew open.

A man rushed inside, clearly awakened by the noise.

“Boss,” he muttered.

His eyes shifted between Keegan and me.

He had pale skin, sharp features, and a serious expression.

His presence carried authority, although it wasn’t nearly as intimidating as Keegan’s.

Keegan pointed toward me.

“Take her to the dungeon.”

My blood ran cold.

The dungeon?

I couldn’t let that happen.

I immediately began explaining myself, but Keegan didn’t even bother listening.

He walked pass me and slammed the door behind.

The other man sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

“What did you do?”

“I wasn’t trying to escape,” I insisted.

He approached me and reached for my hand.

I pulled away immediately.

“Please. Don’t take me there.” I tried to persuade him but only to be helpless.

His expression softened slightly.

“I’m sorry. I’m only his consigliere. If I disobey him, both of us could be in serious trouble.”

I didn’t have a choice until my body willfully followed him.

The moment we stepped into the corridor, the temperature seemed to drop.

The floor was cold beneath my feet, and the hallway was barely illuminated.

Men dressed in black stood throughout the mansion, watching every entrance and passage.

There were too many.

I could fight but not all of them, not in my current condition.

I clenched my fists.

So this was it.

The dungeon.

He would just throw me there after everything?

He even hugged me for what?

Damn him!

Just wait till I got a chance to wreck his skull!

At least I wouldn’t have to see that motherfucker anymore.

I glanced at the man’s broad shoulders as we continued walking.

A faint light fell across his face.

That was when I noticed his pale blue eyes and sharply defined features.

But Keegan’s face card was still on another level, though.

I shook my head.

Why am I even thinking about that now?

I suddenly grabbed his arm.

He looked at me, confused.

“What happens afterward?” I asked quickly.

“Will he punish me? Will he let me go eventually?”

He sighed.

“No.” his only answer, he didn’t even bother to explain.

My stomach dropped.

“He bought you at the auction house,” he continued.

“Not for a single night. He bought you outright.”

I stared at him.

My mind went completely blank.

“What?”

He continued walking.

I hurried after him.

“May I at least know your name?”

He glanced at me.

“Caspien.”

I frowned.

“Since you already know mine, I suppose that’s fair.”

He gave me a brief look.

“We already know your name. I only wanted to see whether you’d tell me the truth.”

My eyes narrowed.

This man was more observant than he looked.

He pulled me towards the other corridor.

This one was narrower.

Darker and much quieter.

I stared ahead.

I couldn’t believe I was actually being taken to a dungeon.

How the hell was I supposed to get out of this place?

This is traumatizing.

Then an idea struck me.

I looked at Caspien’s back.

A wicked smile slowly appeared on my lips.

“Caspien.” He turned.

“What?” his voice was already annoyed.

I didn’t answer.

He faced me and I stepped forward and swung my fist.

“AHHHHH!! FUCK! FUCK!” He groaned in pain.

My punch caught him across the face.

He stumbled backward and dropped to one knee, immediately clutching his nose.

I didn’t waste a second.

I ran full of hope.

Finally I can now have a chance to escape, I sprinted down the corridor, my footsteps echoing against the walls.

Freedom was only a few seconds away.

Then I slammed straight into someone.

I stumbled backward and my blood ran cold as my chest dropped.

I slowly raised my head.

It was the devil who wants me in the dungeon.

He stood directly in front of me.

His expression was dark.

His eyes were filled with fury.

I looked behind me.

Caspien was still on the floor, groaning as he held his injured nose.

Then I looked back at Keegan.

Fuck!

I’m doomed!

I immediately turned around and ran toward Caspien.

I ducked behind him, using his body as a shield.

Keegan started walking toward us.

One slow step at a time.

Damn it!

Why does this always happen?

What a freaking coincidence!

Just help her Caspien.
