Chapter 18: White Isn’t Blank

the magical girls of war: Obsessive Tendencies

Tony scrambled through the chaotic hallways until he found an empty, unused classroom. Ducking inside, he gently set Alice down on one of the desks. She had been steadily regaining consciousness over the last few minutes, her eyes blinking open as the foggy haze of battle began to clear.

She looked up at the figure standing over her, her brow furrowing in deep confusion. "Why do you... look like Cupcake so much?"

Tony paused, freezing in place. He looked down at his own hands, then back at her. "Well... it's still me."

Alice sat up entirely, her eyes widening as she blinked rapidly. She leaned in dangerously close, practically burying her face in front of his as she stared intently at his features. Tony felt his cheeks instantly burst into a fiery red blush, his eyelids fluttering in sheer panic.

"You... you really look like Pink?!" Alice gasped, her jaw dropping. "But... why are you dressed in white? Even your hair is completely white?!"

Tony pulled at a strand of his gleaming, pale hair, staring at it in awe. "I have no idea why I'm like this, but... for the first time in two days, I can actually think clearly."

The heavy, suffocating pressure of his obsessive impulses had vanished, replaced by a calm, quiet peace. Alice stared at him, a soft expression crossing her face as she nodded.

"I understand that..."

Suddenly, a bright light enveloped her. In a flash of brilliant, golden energy, her school clothes dissolved, replaced by a new frilly, yellow magical girl uniform.

A warm sensation washed over her, triggering an overwhelming wave of pure, unfiltered happiness. But this time, it was different. Her smile wasn't forced, blinding, or driven by a desperate, toxic need for validation. It was just her smile—natural, peaceful, and entirely genuine.

It was so utterly breathtaking that Tony’s heart skipped a beat. The sheer, overwhelming emotional impact of seeing her true smile shattered his concentration. With a sudden poof, tonys white magical form dissolved entirely, leaving him standing there in his standard boy's school uniform.

Panic seized him. Realizing his secret identity was hovering on the absolute brink of exposure, Tony jumped backward, his arms flailing. "I gotta go!!"

He bolted for the classroom door, his legs moving faster than they ever had in gym class. As he threw the door open and sprinted down the hallway, Alice caught a fleeting glimpse of his receding figure—specifically, the undeniable cut of his civilian attire.

She blinked in complete bewilderment, staring at the empty doorway. "Were those... boy's clothes?"
