As the workday approached, Wei Hongsi returned to the company and called up the model running in the background. The data analysis was indeed already complete.

The analytical evaluations for proposals A, C, and D were almost identical to those previously run through the company's standard model.

Only for proposal B did the data analysis give a negative evaluation.

When Wei Hongsi was writing this algorithmic model, he had considered many special cases and extreme outcomes, but this was the first time he had encountered such a result in a practical analysis. It gave him a feeling of eager excitement, like a hunter spotting his prey.

He reviewed the parameter settings used in this analysis, confirming they were all within reasonable ranges.

He then compared the analysis results of the other three proposals. The key data and fluctuation curves from the two models showed a high degree of convergence, serving as another piece of strong corroborating evidence.

Looking more carefully at the heat map for proposal B and comparing multiple eye-tracking metrics from the two analysis results, he confirmed the conclusion of the second analysis was credible.

This meant a significant portion of test subjects had subconsciously generated negative emotions after viewing proposal B.

There really was a major problem!

Wei Hongsi was absolutely certain this was no coincidence or mistake. If proposal B could produce this kind of effect without being the result of deliberate, calculated design, he'd eat the monitor on his desk.

After pondering for a moment, he submitted a request on WD, asking for access permissions to the "Cognitive Mirroring System," hoping to conduct further verification of the second analysis conclusion.

The company's "Cognitive Mirroring System" was an AI system based on cognitive science. Its core function was to simulate, parse, and reversely reconstruct human cognitive behavior.

Less than two minutes later, the request was rejected by his supervisor, He Feng, without any reason given.

Wei Hongsi frowned, his fingers tapping lightly on the desk a few times.

He then opened the standard report template and began filling it out based on his own model's analysis results. He only made slight modifications to a few key statements, making the report's content appear less abrupt.

This time, the report was submitted smoothly without any anomalies.

Through the feedback information on WD, Wei Hongsi saw the report had passed his supervisor's review and was forwarded from his own Department Two to Department Eight. The corner of his mouth couldn't help but curve up slightly.

He Feng hadn't even come to ask any questions. Either he hadn't reviewed the report carefully, or he was doing it on purpose.

But that wasn't important. As long as the report was submitted, the goal was achieved.

......

Around four o'clock in the afternoon, He Feng came looking for Wei Hongsi, his face pulled tight as he demanded, "How did you handle that analysis request from Department Eight?"

Wei Hongsi spread his hands open. "With my hands."

He Feng glared. "Don't get cute with me. The client is here, and you need to go give an explanation!"

Wei Hongsi looked at He Feng, neither getting up nor speaking.

"Let's go!" He Feng raised his volume significantly, immediately drawing the attention of everyone nearby.

Wei Hongsi wore a look of confusion. "Go where?"

He Feng said through gritted teeth, "Follow me!" and then turned and walked out.

Wei Hongsi stood up and followed He Feng, keeping a bit of distance between them.

Judging by the other man's gait, his pretend anger seemed to have turned into real anger.

The two entered the elevator, went down to the 8th floor, and entered a meeting room. There were already seven or eight people inside, sitting on either side of the conference table.

On the side against the wall were five people, with Lu Jiaqi occupying the central main seat. On the side by the door sat three men, who were naturally the clients.

"Supervisor He, Engineer Wei, please sit here." Lu Jiaqi raised her hand, gesturing for them to take the two empty seats to her left.

Wei Hongsi sat down on the outer side of He Feng and took the opportunity to size up the three men opposite.

The man in the middle looked about thirty-five, with a fairly robust build. His sharply defined face held a concealed anger. If not for the gold-rimmed glasses on his nose adding a touch of refinement, he would look exactly like a tough guy who'd come to settle a score.

On either side of him were a man in his early forties and a young man around twenty-four or twenty-five, both wearing expressionless faces.

As it was an impromptu meeting, there were no name cards on the table. After the two sat down, Lu Jiaqi extended her right palm flatly towards the man opposite the center. "Let me introduce. This is Director Ji from 'Paradise Beverages.' This is..."

"Director Lu, let's skip the formalities," Director Ji interrupted her introduction with a wave of his hand. "My name is Ji Cheng, Cheng as in honest. First, I'd like to ask, who prepared this analysis report?"

Just as Wei Hongsi was about to speak, a line of blood-red text suddenly jumped before his eyes.

[Task: Stop Paradise Beverages' plan to launch Proposal B's on dynamic media platforms.]

Again?

Fortunately, he had already experienced something similar twice that morning, giving him some capacity to handle it. Otherwise, performing a dramatic tactical lean-back in front of everyone would have been hard to explain.

But just issuing a task, with no reward?

After Ji Cheng finished speaking, his gaze swept back and forth between He Feng and Wei Hongsi. Seeing no one respond, his expression darkened.

He Feng quickly looked to his left at Wei Hongsi, his face showing clear annoyance.

Lu Jiaqi, seeing the situation was getting awkward, was just about to try and smooth things over when she heard Wei Hongsi say, "I did it."

Ji Cheng stared at Wei Hongsi. "Do you have any idea how much effort and capital we've already invested to launch that beverage this month?"

Wei Hongsi shook his head. "No."

Ji Cheng's gaze grew sharper. "Then do you know that Proposal B received the highest score from the expert panel and is unanimously favored by our company's senior management?"

Wei Hongsi continued shaking his head. "No."

Ji Cheng frowned. "Don't you think you should say something else?"

Wei Hongsi thought for a moment, then said, "Congratulations!"

This time, even Lu Jiaqi couldn't help but glance sideways at him, and He Feng elbowed Wei Hongsi.

"Hmm~" Ji Cheng let out a drawn-out sound, unclear whether it was a sigh or a laugh.

"Director Ji, I'm sorry," Lu Jiaqi hurriedly apologized.

Ji Cheng looked at Lu Jiaqi. "Director Lu, we've collaborated several times. It was out of trust in you and your company that I handed over this commission. But the analysis report you provided has turned our advertising procurement into an incident, made a mess of our promotion preparations. Who is going to take responsibility for this?"

"Director Ji, please don't be upset just yet," Lu Jiaqi said, glancing sideways at Wei Hongsi before turning back to Ji Cheng. "I believe there must be a special reason for this."

"Hah." Ji Cheng gave a cold, mocking laugh and spoke very bluntly. "Director Lu, don't think data analysis is always reliable. At the end of the day, s are for people to watch! Do you really think so many experts, and my entire team, can't tell if an ad proposal is good or bad?

"Oh, I bought a cabinet and wanted your help figuring out where to place it. Instead, you tell me the cabinet should be thrown out. You've got the entire direction wrong, you know that?!"

"Director Ji, how about we produce another report? I guarantee we can have it ready by tomorrow morning," He Feng quickly interjected.

Lu Jiaqi couldn't hide her surprise. She glanced at He Feng on her left, her lips parting slightly but no sound coming out.

"Well... that could work too," Ji Cheng murmured, nodding thoughtfully. "But..."

"I disagree!"

Before Ji Cheng's "but" could fully emerge, he was interrupted.

Everyone present turned to look at the speaker, finding it was that guy who didn't know how to talk.

For a moment, the air in the meeting room seemed to freeze solid.
