The night after the battle of Wolf Fortress was unusually quiet.
Destiny stood on the command center's balcony, staring at the damaged walls and the soldiers working tirelessly to repair them. The fortress had survived the attack, but everyone knew the next one could be worse.
Suddenly, a red notification appeared before his eyes.
[DING!]
[Emergency Mission Updated!]
[Mission: Prepare for the Monster King]
[Objectives:
Reach Level 15.
Recruit 50 soldiers.
Upgrade Wolf Fortress to Level 3.
Unlock Advanced Military Technology.]
[Time Limit: 14 Days]
[Failure Penalty: Military System suppression and loss of command authority.]
Destiny frowned. Fourteen days.
"System, how strong is the Monster King?"
[Insufficient data.]
"Then tell me what you know."
[The Monster King is a powerful entity commanding multiple monster armies. His exact rank and attributes remain unknown.]
Before Destiny could ask another question, the sky turned dark.
A gigantic face appeared among the clouds. Its glowing red eyes looked directly at Wolf Fortress.
"Little commander," a deep voice echoed across the land. "You have delayed my plans, but you cannot stop what is coming."
Every soldier outside froze.
Destiny clenched his fists. "Who are you?"
"I am the Monster King. Your military system was once part of my power. Return it to me, and I may allow you and your people to survive."
Destiny stepped forward.
"I don't know what you are talking about. But this system chose me, and I won't hand it over."
The enormous face smiled.
"Then watch your people fall."
The sky returned to normal.
[DING!]
[Hidden Mission Activated!]
[Mission: Discover the Origin of the Military System.]
[Reward: Unknown.]
Destiny stared at the notification.
The system had never offered him a mission like this before.
"Isaac!" he shouted into his communication device. "I need every piece of information you can find about the crown symbol and the Monster King."
"Understood, sir!"
Destiny turned toward the fortress.
The Monster King had made his intentions clear. The next battle would not be a simple monster attack.
It would be a war.
