Arthur stood in the center of his room.

The wall was completely covered.

Names.

Dates.

Security footage.

Area 19 records.

Red strings.

And at the center of it all— one name.

ELERA.

Arthur placed the transfer file on the desk.

03:17 A.M.

He hadn’t slept.

But he no longer felt tired.

Every piece of the puzzle was finally pointing toward the same conclusion.

Faking a person’s death wasn’t easy.

But it wasn’t impossible.

Not when everyone involved already knew their role.

Arthur stared at the wall.

“Then let’s start from the beginning.”

47 MINUTES BEFORE THE INCIDENT

Elera was still alive.

But the operation had already begun.

Before removing her from the room, the remaining Area 19 personnel had temporarily incapacitated her without her knowledge.

The objective wasn’t to kill her.

It was to create a period of time she would never remember.

A gap.

A blank space.

Then they prepared the scene.

No real bullet.

No real fatal wound.

Only an illusion convincing enough for Arthur to witness from a distance.

And there was a reason Elera couldn’t know about it.

Because if she had known…

Arthur would have noticed.

The smallest change in her behavior.

A hesitation.

A strange movement.

A difference in her breathing.

Anything.

Arthur would have seen it.

That was why even Elera had been kept outside part of the operation.

Arthur stared at the photograph.

“They couldn’t fool me.”

His eyes narrowed.

“So they had to make sure she couldn’t fool me either.”

18 MINUTES BEFORE THE INCIDENT

The security teams took their positions.

The first team secured the corridor.

The second would enter once the conflict began.

The third waited in an overlooked rear passage.

A fourth operative controlled the cameras.

A fifth posed as medical personnel.

The sixth—

Arthur looked at the photograph in the file.

A member of the cleaning crew.

Arthur slowly set down his pen.

“There you are.”

He flipped six photographs onto the right side of the board.

Every one of them had been inside the facility that night.

Yet none had official duty records.

They weren’t supposed to appear in the system.

Arthur grouped them beneath a single heading:

SCENE CONTROL

Then drew a line beneath it.

EXTRACTION.

3 MINUTES BEFORE THE INCIDENT

Elera was still beside Arthur.

Holding him.

Crying.

Arthur had believed it was their final conversation.

But somewhere above them…

the camera had moved.

Only slightly.

A few degrees.

A normal person would never have noticed.

Arthur had.

But he had been looking at Elera.

So he ignored it.

Arthur stared at the surveillance frame.

“That was your greatest advantage.”

His finger touched the image.

“You didn’t hide the camera.”

“You made me choose not to look at it.”

THE INCIDENT

The lights went out.

A red targeting laser appeared.

Arthur pushed Elera aside.

A gunshot echoed through the room.

Elera collapsed.

Arthur ran toward her.

And at that exact moment—

Phase Two began.

The concealed simulation system activated.

The wound appeared.

The blood spread.

The body went limp.

From Arthur’s position…

it looked real.

Too real.

Elera remained motionless.

Arthur checked her.

But the second stage of the operation had already begun.

Her consciousness had been completely suppressed.

Arthur interpreted the absence of response as death.

And then the room exploded into chaos.

Gunfire.

Shouting.

Security personnel.

Flashing lights.

Cameras.

Movement.

Dozens of people.

That was the true objective.

Not to make Arthur believe Elera had been shot.

To make him believe it while simultaneously forcing him away from her.

Arthur looked at the photograph.

“You didn’t need me to believe the lie.”

He paused.

“You only needed me to believe it long enough.”

THE FIGHT

While Arthur was engaged with the security teams…

the rear door opened.

Four operatives entered.

No one noticed.

Everyone was watching Arthur.

Elera was quietly removed from the scene.

The false signs of death remained intact.

In her place…

they left only absence.

When Arthur finally turned back, the scene had already changed.

He remembered seeing movement near the corridor.

A body.

Blood.

Chaos.

Everything blending together.

And then— the first man in black camouflage emerged.

Arthur fired.

The bullet struck the man’s neck.

The second operative barely raised his rifle before Arthur closed the distance.

The barrel was redirected.

Arthur fired again.

Near the rear passage, two more operatives attempted to secure Elera to the extraction unit.

Arthur charged into the room.

Two shots.

Two bodies.

The fight continued.

Reinforcements poured into the corridor.

Arthur took cover, reloaded, and neutralized three more attackers before they could advance.

Within minutes, the facility had become a battlefield.

Arthur read every detail from the file.

Then stopped.

His eyes returned to one photograph.

Elera lying on the floor.

Arthur picked it up.

Something was wrong.

The angle of her head.

He examined it again.

Then a third time.

He closed his eyes.

And remembered.

When Elera had collapsed…

he had turned her toward himself.

But the photograph showed something different.

Arthur’s breathing stopped.

“This picture was taken afterward.”

His gaze moved across the board.

“So you altered the images too.”

He grabbed another photograph.

Then another.

He compared the timestamps.

Different cameras.

Different angles.

Different sequences.

The answer slowly emerged.

None of the photographs belonged to the same continuous sequence.

Arthur sat down.

His eyes remained fixed on the wall.

“You didn’t recreate the incident…”

He looked up.

“You recreated the version of it that I would remember.”

Silence.

Then Arthur smiled faintly.

Not because it was funny.

Because he had finally found the flaw.

“You underestimated memory.”

THE CHAIN OF INTERROGATIONS

Arthur now knew who had been present.

And more importantly— who had survived.

Behind the field personnel stood the people who had orchestrated the operation.

Arthur stepped toward the wall.

1.

CAMERA SYSTEM OPERATOR

04:10 A.M.

The programmer responsible for altering the camera angles was entering his vehicle in an underground parking garage.

He opened the driver’s door.

Then stopped.

A cold blade pressed against his carotid artery.

Arthur sat in the back seat.

“Why did you alter the camera angles?”

“I-I was following orders!”

“Who gave them?”

“I was told to loop the footage!”

“Who authorized it?”

“Field Logistics!”

The man’s breathing became frantic.

“Vera! It was Vera! Without her authorization, I couldn’t create the blind spots!”

Arthur stared at him for a moment.

Then released him.

The man exhaled in relief.

A mistake.

Arthur’s hand moved.

The man’s body went limp.

Arthur stepped out of the vehicle.

The car door closed behind him.

2.

FIELD LOGISTICS OFFICER — VERA

05:02 A.M.

Vera was burning documents inside a safe house.

The front door exploded inward.

She barely had time to turn.

Arthur slammed her against the table.

“X-1 pointed to you.”

He placed a photograph in front of her.

“Who brought the chemical agent and wound simulation equipment inside?”

“I only approved the medical supplies!”

“Who?”

“Dr. Vance!”

Her voice cracked.

“He administered the drug! He prepared the false injury system! The extraction ambulance was under his authority!”

Arthur stared at her.

A single shot ended the conversation.

3.

MEDICAL EXTRACTION OFFICER — DR.

VANCE

05:55 A.M.

Dr.

Vance was sterilizing surgical instruments when Arthur appeared behind him.

The doctor froze.

“What did you inject into Elera?”

Vance swallowed.

“A compound that slowed her pulse and induced temporary paralysis.”

“How long?”

“Several hours.”

“Who did you hand her over to?”

“I only loaded her into the ambulance!”

“Who?”

“Security Chief Marcus!”

Arthur stepped closer.

“And where did he take her?”

“I don’t know.”

Arthur stared at him.

Vance’s face collapsed.

“Please.”

Arthur didn’t answer.

The conversation ended seconds later.

4.

SECURITY CHIEF MARCUS

06:30 A.M.

Marcus was counting cash inside a warehouse.

He reached for his weapon.

Arthur shot his wrist.

Marcus collapsed.

Arthur pressed him against the floor.

“Who issued the transfer order?”

Marcus struggled to breathe.

“The former instructor.”

Arthur’s eyes narrowed.

“Which instructor?”

“The former coordinator!”

Marcus swallowed.

“He arranged everything.”

“Where did they take her?”

“I don’t know!”

Arthur increased the pressure.

“I swear!”

Silence.

“He gave the order directly.”

Marcus’s voice trembled.

“I only opened the doors.”

Arthur released him.

Marcus looked up.

For a moment, he thought he had survived.

Then Arthur asked one final question.

“Where is the coordinator?”

Marcus whispered the location.

THE COORDINATOR Find the original chapter at g.com.

06:41 A.M.

Arthur reached the final link.

The former coordinator sat calmly behind a desk.

Even as Arthur entered…

the man’s composure never broke.

The scent of blood and gunpowder followed Arthur into the room.

Evidence of everything that had happened over the previous hours.

The coordinator looked at him.

“So you’ve finally arrived.”

Arthur sat opposite him.

Placed his pistol on the table.

“Where is Elera?”

Silence.

The coordinator smiled.

“You think you know everything now?”

Arthur shook his head.

“No.”

He placed the transfer file on the desk.

Then the identification cards.

Then the photographs.

One after another.

“I know she was incapacitated beforehand.”

Another document.

“I know about the drug.”

Another.

“I know about the simulated wound.”

Another.

“I know who altered the cameras.”

Another.

“I know who entered during the conflict.”

Another.

“I know who transported her.”

The coordinator’s expression finally changed.

Arthur placed the final document on the table.

“And I know who ordered all of it.”

Silence.

The coordinator looked at him.

“Who?”

Arthur leaned back.

“You.”

The coordinator smiled again.

“You have no proof.”

Arthur reached into his pocket.

His phone connected to the room’s speakers.

A recording began.

The coordinator’s own voice filled the room.

Orders.

Dates.

Names.

Instructions.

The operation had been planned long before Elera ever stood beside Arthur.

The coordinator’s smile disappeared.

Arthur stopped the recording.

“You’re not alone anymore.”

The man stared at him.

Arthur’s voice became colder.

“Because I’m not leaving you alone.”

The coordinator reached beneath the desk.

Arthur’s weapon rose.

The shot came first.

The coordinator collapsed across the desk.

Dead.

Arthur stood.

He looked at the body for several seconds.

Then turned away.

07:03 A.M.

Arthur’s phone vibrated.

Unknown number.

A message appeared.

DO YOU THINK IT’S OVER?

Arthur didn’t reply.

Another message appeared.

WE’RE WAITING FOR YOU WHERE THE SUFFERING BEGAN.

Then a location.

The abandoned remains of Area 19.

Arthur stared at the screen.

Another message arrived.

COME ALONE.

Arthur’s eyes narrowed.

He slipped the phone into his pocket.

Then looked at the photograph in his bloodstained hands.

He turned it over.

The message remained.

DON’T LOOK FOR ME.

Arthur read it once.

Then again.

Something bothered him.

Not the words.

The timing.

Someone wanted him to find this.

Someone wanted him to believe Elera had written it.

And someone wanted him to go back to Area 19.

Arthur’s eyes hardened.

He flipped the photograph again.

There was something else written beneath the first sentence.

A second line.

One he hadn’t noticed before.

BECAUSE IF YOU FIND ME…

THEY’LL FIND YOU TOO.

Arthur remained silent.

Then a faint smile appeared.

Not happiness.

Recognition.

“So that’s the game.”

He placed the photograph inside his jacket.

He turned toward the door.

“Then…”

His hand tightened around the photograph.

“…let them find me too.”

He took one step.

Stopped.

And looked back at the wall.

At Elera’s photograph.

For the first time since the operation began, Arthur allowed himself to say the words aloud.

“I found you.”

His eyes hardened.

“And this time…”

A pause.

“…I’m not losing you again.”

Arthur left the room.

The door closed behind him.

The board remained in darkness.

Except for one photograph.

Elera.

And beneath her name…

a single red line.

NEXT DESTINATION: AREA 19.

Every lie leaves a scar.

Every cover-up leaves a gap.

And every perfect operation leaves behind one fatal mistake.

Arthur has finally uncovered the truth behind Elera’s apparent death.

But truth is only the beginning.

The people behind the operation are dead.

The chain has been broken.

Yet the answers they protected remain hidden.

Now only one destination remains: Area 19.

The place where Arthur was created.

The place where Elera disappeared.

And the place where someone is still waiting.

The next chapter marks the beginning of Arthur’s return to the ruins of his past.

But the greatest danger waiting inside Area 19 may not be an enemy.

It may be the version of Arthur that never truly left.
