In the meeting room, Viktor sat with a somber expression. Even now, he still found it hard to accept the truth about Liliana’s wolf form.
"Alpha, is it true that Miss Liliana possesses the power of a pure silver wolf?" asked one of the elders.
Viktor looked up. His cold gaze swept across the entire room.
"Do you think I’d lie to you?" he replied flatly.
In the past, no one had ever dared to question Viktor’s words. But this time was different.
The existence of pure silver wolves was something that had long since vanished from the history of the werewolf race. Even the ancient books that discussed the different types of werewolves now contained only scant records regarding silver wolves.
For most werewolves, the existence of silver wolves is nothing more than a legend—something considered impossible to actually exist.
Only a few Alphas and pack elders who have lived for thousands of years still believe in that story.
"Lord Alpha, if this is true, then it could spell disaster for the Draven Pack."
"Hmm..." A faint smirk appeared on Viktor’s face.
"Do you actually believe the prophecy uttered by that lowly werewolf?"
"But, Lord Alpha, the power of the silver wolves is far beyond our people’s imagination. If we’re unable to control it, there will be many problems in the future."
"That’s right, Lord Alpha," chimed in another elder. "Please reconsider. The Draven Pack won’t be able to bear such a heavy burden. Given that our pack has long been exploited by other packs to guard the borders, the presence of a silver wolf will only lead the Draven Pack to ruin."
Viktor took a deep breath.
"Liliana is my daughter now, and she will be in the future. A daughter whom the Moon Goddess has finally entrusted to my care."
"Don’t say a word about this," Viktor continued. "Keep it all a secret from the other packs—and even from our own pack members."
"But, Lord Alpha..." replied one of the elders sitting beside Viktor.
"I will find a way to conceal her abilities, as well as her silver wolf form."
Viktor tapped his finger on the table, then glared at the elders present.
"I want all of you to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding Liliana."
The pack elders exchanged glances. Their faces furrowed; they clearly did not agree with Viktor’s decision.
"Alpha, this isn’t just about your daughter. It concerns the future of our pack. Are you just going to ignore it?" asked one of the elders.
"This is my Draven Pack. You don’t need to worry that I’ll destroy it."
"Alpha, can you guarantee that?"
Viktor didn’t answer right away. Then Mega entered the meeting room.
"Former Leader," the elders greeted in unison as Mega stood beside Viktor.
Mega nodded slightly in response, then looked at them one by one.
"I’ll guarantee it," said Mega. "Liliana is the werewolf I personally brought into this pack. You don’t need to worry about that."
"But, Former Leader..."
"Liliana... come in."
A short while later, the door opened again.
Liliana walked in wearing the same dress she’d worn while training with Viktor on the pack’s training field.
"Liliana, didn’t Dad tell you to go back to your room?" Viktor asked.
"I was the one who called her and told her to come here," Mega replied.
Mega looked at Liliana. "Liliana, let me ask you one thing. Do you dare to swear that you will never betray the Draven Pack and will never sacrifice it for your own interests in the future?"
Liliana looked back and forth between Mega and Viktor, then turned her gaze to the elders standing before her.
Slowly, she raised her right hand.
"I, Liliana Draven, swear that I will never betray, sacrifice, or exploit the Draven Pack for my own personal gain."
Liliana took a breath, then continued.
"I also swear that I will not use the Draven name for personal gain, even if one day I find myself in dire straits. If I break this oath, I, Liliana Draven, am willing to pay the price with my own blood and bones."
As soon as the oath was finished, the conference room was instantly enveloped in silence.
Viktor furrowed his brow.
"Liliana..." he called out in a low voice.
Liliana looked up at Viktor.
"Father, this is my oath. You are my father now. I promise I will never do anything to harm the Draven Pack, either now or in the future."
Viktor’s expression grew even more complex.
"Is that enough now?" asked Mega.
Not a single elder answered. They simply bowed their heads in silence.
"Now, sign this confidentiality agreement. Viktor and I will work together to protect the Draven Pack. As for Liliana, we’ll find a way for her to hide her wolf form."
Without another word, the elders signed the non-disclosure agreement Viktor had prepared using their own blood.
Viktor’s personal beta stepped forward to collect all the signed agreements and place them before the Alpha.
"The meeting is over. You may all leave," said Viktor.
After the elders left the room, Viktor turned his gaze back to Liliana.
"Liliana... is there anything you want to say to me?"
"Dad..."
"Didn’t I already tell you that I’ll protect you?"
Liliana gave a faint smile, then hugged Viktor.
"Dad, I know. But I never want you to sacrifice the Draven Pack just for my sake. I’ll fight to become stronger. I’ll make sure Silver never becomes a burden to the Draven family."
"I know. Of course I know." Viktor gently stroked Liliana’s black hair.
"Stop being so dramatic."
Mega’s voice made them both turn around. Liliana and Viktor finally smiled at her words.
"Liliana, starting tonight, you’ll be undergoing intense training with me."
Mega looked at her seriously.
"I’ll teach you how to use your werewolf powers without arousing suspicion from those around you. Are you willing?"
Liliana released her embrace from Viktor and looked at Mega.
"Mrs. Mega, I’m ready."
Mega nodded with satisfaction.
"Training will begin tonight. Before you enter the academy, I’ll make sure you understand everything."
Liliana nodded firmly.
"Now go back to your room. We’ll spend twelve hours training tonight."
Liliana was taken aback for a moment, but then nodded confidently.
As soon as the conference room door closed, Viktor sat back down in his chair.
"Are you sure Liliana can handle the training you once gave Cassian?"
Mega smiled faintly. "Are you worried about her?"
"She’s my daughter."
"In that case, do your best to ensure Liliana’s wolf can conceal its fur color and its powers."
"I know. I’ll go to the human world to meet their witch."
"Are you sure you want to go there?" Mega asked.
"If there’s anyone who can help me hide Liliana’s abilities, she’s the only one."
Mega nodded slowly. "Take a few Beta guards with you. This pack still needs you. Cassian isn’t capable enough to lead it yet."
"Do you think I’m going to die?"
Mega shrugged. "Only the Moon Goddess knows. Take good care of yourself."
Viktor gave a faint smile. "You’re underestimating my abilities, Mega."
