The three stopped in their tracks the moment they arrived at the river they were heading toward.
They looked at each other, then looked behind them.
The Nightfangs stared at the three of them with threatening and victorious gazes. Saliva began to drip from their mouths.
Their bodies stiffened. In front of them was a river with an extremely strong current, while behind them were hundreds of Nightfangs waiting for the right moment to devour them.
"Jump!" Cassian shouted.
Liliana looked up at him, then nodded.
The white tiger looked at the two of them with labored breathing, then let out a low growl.
"Splash!"
Cassian, Liliana, and the white tiger threw themselves into the green-colored river with its extremely strong current.
Behind them, the Nightfangs howled loudly, staring at the three of them who should have already been inside their mouths, but instead had disappeared and entered the river.
Several Nightfangs tried to chase after them by running toward the cliff, hoping the three of them would soon swim to the shore.
Nightfangs were different from tigers and wolves. They had no ability to swim at all.
Liliana looked at them and smiled faintly. Her gaze then fell upon the injured white tiger and Cassian.
The two of them growled, feeling the pain caused by the wounds on their bodies coming into contact with the river water.
"Brother, Belang, hold on," Liliana said.
She immediately changed into human form and reached for the bodies of the two who were beginning to be swept away by the current.
Cassian did not resist. His body gave in, and his eyes slowly closed.
Beside him, the white tiger looked at Liliana. Its eyes became teary as Liliana used her power to bring them to land.
"Thud!"
"Thud!"
Liliana collapsed onto the rocks at the edge of the river after successfully bringing the two of them ashore.
Her breathing was ragged after carrying two living creatures weighing nearly three hundred kilograms to land.
Liliana blinked, looking at the sky, which was now completely dark and illuminated only by the moonlight.
Cassian had not yet changed from his wolf form, while the white tiger, although still conscious, was also unable to help with anything.
After a while, Liliana took a slow breath and stood up. She walked toward Cassian.
Her hand reached out and touched Cassian’s wolf body, which was covered in wounds.
She slowly closed her eyes, then directed her power toward Cassian’s wounds.
Slowly, white light flowed through her fingers and closed the wounds on Cassian’s body.
An hour passed quickly. The wounds on Cassian’s body finally healed completely.
Now there was not even a single scratch left. His black fur shone again, showing how majestic his wolf was.
"Brother... you have to repay me dearly in the future," Liliana said.
She wiped the sweat from her forehead, then got up and immediately walked toward the white tiger, which was curled up from the cold.
"Sorry, I have to heal my brother first. But you can rest assured, I will not forget you," Liliana said.
"Errr..." The striped tiger let out a low growl.
Liliana slowly sat down, directed both hands toward the white tiger’s body, then once again channeled her energy into the wounds of the striped white tiger.
Liliana’s face grew paler.
Dividing her power while her strength was still being suppressed was extremely difficult for her.
Half an hour passed.
The white tiger’s body finally healed completely. Although they were both injured, Cassian’s wounds were clearly much more numerous than those of the striped white tiger.
"Belang," Liliana called softly.
"It seems I will use your body as my bed."
Liliana immediately collapsed onto the fur of the striped tiger, which had completely dried.
She slowly closed her eyes without knowing that several pairs of eyes had been watching her ever since they were attacked by the Nightfangs.
One of them was the same pair of eyes that had watched her when she obtained her power the previous night.
"Master..." someone beside him spoke.
"Return to the academy. At least now I know who the Luna is that the Moon Goddess has given me," he said.
When morning came, Cassian slowly opened his eyes.
His eyes immediately fell upon Liliana, who was lying with a pale face on the white tiger’s body.
In an instant, he changed into human form. He walked toward Liliana.
"Liliana..." he called.
Liliana did not respond to Cassian’s call.
Cassian frowned. He placed his hand on Liliana’s pale forehead.
"Fever."
His brows furrowed deeply. He looked at his own body and the striped tiger, who was now completely fine without a single wound left. He knew the reason.
"Such a stupid girl," Cassian said.
He reached into the pocket of his robe and took out a box containing bottles of colorful liquid.
He took two bottles at once.
"This should be the right one. Don’t worry. Brother will cure your fever."
He opened the bottle cap, then opened Liliana’s mouth so she could swallow it.
"Even if it is the wrong one, you will be fine. These are all medicines. Mother already forbade me from bringing dangerous medicine, so whatever it is, you will definitely recover," Cassian added.
Cassian looked at the rising sun, then nodded for a moment.
"We have to hurry now. The academy gates will close before dark, and we only have a little time."
Cassian grabbed Liliana’s body and carried her on his back.
The white tiger woke up and wagged its tail before following Cassian’s steps from behind.
After walking quite far, Cassian saw the exit of the forest.
All the young members of the Draven Pack were waiting for him there.
"Young Master Alpha," they called respectfully.
Cassian nodded slightly.
"Has everyone gotten out of the forest?" Cassian asked after a while.
"Yes, Young Master," one of the Beta’s sons answered.
"Hurry to the academy immediately. We don’t have much time," Cassian said.
Everyone nodded in agreement and mounted their respective horses.
Cassian mounted his horse, then placed Liliana in front of his body while holding her tightly.
"Hyah!"
Cassian directed his horse forward and once again led the journey toward the academy.
The white tiger ran swiftly beside Cassian’s horse.
Behind him, the girl who had caused trouble the previous night stared sharply at Liliana, who was in Cassian’s arms.
Cassian snorted, having no intention of saying anything.
The time to reach the academy was very limited, and he had to bring all his pack members safely to the academy.
Seven hours passed quickly. Not a single one of them rested. They did not even dare to take a sip of water.
They urged their horses forward with all their strength, following all of Cassian’s instructions.
When the day was almost dark, Cassian’s horse finally stopped moving. In front of him stood a tall, luxurious, and imposing gate.
A statue shaped like a wolf was mounted beside the entrance in a majestic manner.
The Wolf Academy.
The only place where all types of packs could meet.
The place commonly used by future Alphas to find their Lunas.
